@I love to have a change now and again I used to, of course I did as a fan, and attended most home matches and some away. Not since Glazers came in though, for I despise this type of commercial criminality that our current PM and ex-Chancellor tried to intensify. They imagine infinite growth, and forget all aspects of what it is to have a humane society. Mining town I am from once over half owned by local co-ops, now most people wanna get rich, and Glazers, along with other companies on stock markets are upper echelons of this type of society with no regard for people, just profits. They stink!!!! Send them back to US with empty pockets. They owe us, not them, and are crippling us morally and ethically. No ethics left! I couldn't get job for years after pit, as refused to drive car, but still did voluntary work for good of community. A true knight makes real sacrifices to help others, and does not bleed people dry for every bit of money they can make out of others. These Glazers, and those like them are parasites. So Make a stand, unless you're unwilling to cope with a little discomfort! My word, as a former striking miner, one who,y year, no money, little food, the backbone of this once great nation has wilted, even broken! My heart bleeds, but no-one who coerces with the system would understand that, as you need a heart to bleed profusely, due to love for something! And profiteers do not bleed, as they have no heart!!! So there is no community now. And no unity with Utd fans, as old working class lads sold out. SHAME!!

For those who can't see the 'behind-the-scenes' context of this 'announcement' is that - Ratcliffe has suggested that the Glazer's valuation of United is too high, they aren't where they were and he won't be making a move unless the price decreases. My view is no one but wealthy country sovereign funds can acquire a club like United. He has gone on to suggest that he would prefer to buy another club and build it - rather than spend money on United.
I do not think Ratcliffe is the right owner, you really need someone dedicated. Sir Ratcliffe is worth what, 20 billion? You think someone will spend close to a quarter of their wealth on a football club? 5 billion may mean a lot of his wealth just evaporating. He certainly won't liquidate his most prized assets for United, why would he risk the sale of his more lucrative assets?
His net worth is 20 billion, actual liquidity is a big question mark... so let's stop dreaming. Only someone like Musk, who can throw billions on something worthless as Twitter can probably afford to buy and properly run United.
If it's Ratcliffe, he will probably leverage on loans to buy United, meaning debts still remain, only thing new would be the new milking the cash cow is a British than an American... so be careful what you wish for.

Not sure how you can claim United "don't have the financial pull they once had" when they've just signed Antony for £82M, Martinez for £56M, Casemiro for £60M and they're paying Ronaldo £500K a week to sit on the bench.
The problem isn't the spending, it's the haphazard way it's been spent.

Why would the Glazers sell? Even when United don't perform they make more money than any other team globally. This provides massive dividends to the "children" and they don't have to do a thing to get it. It's perfect for them. I mean, would you sell if you were in that position?

@I love to have a change now and again ticket sales don't even make a fraction of the revenue the glazers make from the club. Bulk of the revenue comes from sponsors. Sponsership is correlated to on field performance and general growth in fan base. We are not adding a lot of new fans like we did 10 years ago.Hope this clears things up. Fans going to the stadium or not just highlights the issue in tv this wards of potential sponsors from putting their money in the club. I don't see any new United fans in the younger generation, i see city fans have increased across the world that's is something! United as a business is in decline. Why I call out the glazers is because they are not capable of running this club an efficient owner would have appointed a director of football and not have tried to meddle with transfer decisions.

    • @carolgeorge7646

@I love to have a change now and again it all starts with a half empty stadium, no sponsor will want to put money in a club with zero fans. This is something anyone can see every week. Revenue from shirt sales will not be released every week only at the end of the financial year.

He said the glazers don’t want to sell. Can’t see it happening. The glazers have a cash cow in United. They’ve not spent a penny of their own money to buy United or invested , it’s all on loans and it still brings them millions every time they ring that dividends bellend. They should never have been allowed near the club. All clubs should be owned by a national of a clubs origin , unless bought outright and not for profit basis . Yeah yeah I know it’s business and money money money and all that. But football clubs are national heritage, communities and families have evolved in and around their football club. Clubs are like what churches are to religious folk. But people like the glazers can come along and take it and rip that away from all like our childhoods spent idolising the players and evolving as a loyal follower and bonding with fellow supporters loving that club like it’s part of your family and reason for living like it means nothing other than becoming merely just a customer, over priced match tickets , shite replica shirts and all we get in return is watching our club go from one of the elite to watching city and Liverpool win titles whilst we can’t even make Europe. The real Europe . It’s disgusting and those glazers are parasites. LUHG
