This game would've been cool if you unlocked characters super quickly like in Smash ultimate. Maybe starting with the base MK1 roster and working your way up
Funny thing about the MK Deception posters, they still appear in the stages files in the retail build. As well as some leftover assets from Deception such as the beta startup logo.
Not to mention on final version, it has a footage of konquest beta with Taven using bow and arrow. Lots of things was removed to final version. My childhood has been ruined when I notice it was beta only.
I was thinking the same I was so hyped when they announced every character in one game but they did way too fast the fatalities were lackluster and I clearly remember reading what Ed Boon had quoted about going forward in the gen consoles that he didn’t see goin into it with these characters he was looking to build new and fresh from the ground up
This game had so much potential if they mixed konquest mode with elements of deception and Shaolin monks like they were doing woulda been goat have 1 unique fatality atleast for each charcter and having every characters expet the bosses with 3 fighting styles would have been amazing I woulda waited for a few more years if that was case
That stuff is what made the krypt so cool back in the day. One of my favorite parts of those games was getting the concept art. In those games they actually explained concepts and why they didn't pan out. Some even pointed out stage lore or objects you wouldn't notice during gameplay. It felt like they cared more about that stuff then. Today you just get some shitty picture with no explanation to look at for 5 seconds.
The Konquest cutscenes didn’t really go with it makes sense why they actually added cutscenes. The deception character select music still goes well here.

I think in the bell tower stage you could uppercut the enemy to the death trap during the fight, and in the final version you can only uppercut him when the fight ends.
If I am not mistaken, somewhere in Konquest gameplay before release was shown that Taven can take the sword with him everywhere, and you can see it on his back. In final build there are only some beat em up moments with weapons only for those situations. And If I am not mistaken, my PS2 MK Armageddon box cover had screenshots with Taven with his sword on his back, and I spent years thinking, how did I miss sword in Konquest...
...they didn't. Taven only uses the "prayer" in Konquest when he wins. He will do Shujinko's victory pose in Arcade/Versud modes (Daegon also does Shujinko's winning pose.)
if i may ask how did you get such clear footage of MKA for the final build versions ? everytime i try emulating it on pcsx2 it doesent look anywhere near as good

I was expecting in the E3 Footage of the Konquest, more like the greatest preview gameplay you can see in the Krypt.

Yea that was a very early build of the game. Basically alpha or beta Konquest gameplay. It’s in the Kyrpt of Armageddon. During the E3 it was removed
