Very straight forward instruction. I’ve always been fascinated with manual tuners. I will probably get one of these if I purchase an IC-705. If nothing else, this would make a valuable backup ATU to an auto-tuner.
Keeping the paddles together when turning on the radio to fool it into thinking it's a straight key is a neat trick. I'll have to try it. My usual strategy was to carry both a miniature straight key and paddles and swap them out after I used the straight key to tune.
Thanks for the instructional video, Joe. I use the ZM-2 with my SW-3B. Wish your video was about a year earlier - learned the trial and error way! Ed - K8DSS
Hi Joe. Just discovered you today and have enjoyed your videos. Thank you. About the ZM-2 Antenna Tuner. I am using a 41' EFRW sloper with a 17' CP and the ZM-2 seems unable to match the antenna to my transceiver on 40m CW. Even after experimenting with my RigExpert AA-55 Zoom I was unable to find a sweet spot. I note that others have experienced the same problem. FYI. JIM ve4bwg
Hi Jim. Thank you. I had the same issue with my 41’ EFRW too depending on where I set it up. I ended up cutting a 29’ CP and that seems to work better for me. I have to roll it up sometimes depending on the location. Maybe try playing with the CP length.
This thing seems great… I have another Z match tuner that’s got a more restrictive tuning range, but is less expensive. On the emtech, I wish they would have shrunk the casing on this guy, which seems to be largely empty inside.

@@JoeN2DI It worked SWR 1.0 =) - Your video encouraged me to make the purchase and I just tried it, thank you again!!!!!

Thanks! I used it as my primary for a while then it became my backup once I got a T1.

It's my favorite manual QRP tuner.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Now that MFJ is gone , we have limited choices! JohnBoyUtah KJ7TBR🇺🇸😎🎙📡
Yeah. I was hoping DX Engineering would acquire them. Too bad.
The choice of specialist tuners in the MFJ catalogue was VAST!
Antenna tuner.
