In this video I review the AT100M-Pro antenna tuner As an Affiliate I may earn a commission at no cost to the consumer. www.banggood.c... 10% off Code:BGb6e3fd Exp:5/31 #hamradio , #antenna , #tuner,
Can you silence the speaker? It's pretty loud. That would NOT work when the family are tryin to sleep or watch TV. Or if your trying to not bother other people at the park.
I have an earlier model, not the Pro, but my comment could potentially apply to all of them. The battery in mine didn't last long at all and wouldn't take a charge, so I removed the original battery and ordered another one (Amazon) which I expected would not fit inside because I upgraded the MAh but everything else was the same. I "edited" the case to run a longer battery cord to it and mounded the new flat battery to the top of the case. Ugly? A little but well worth it to have a better battery on it.
Hi Chuck I’ve got the same tuner and it produces a bit of noise on 10m. You might want to check yours. Hopefully you don’t have the same issue. Cheers Lance
Chuck, Thanks for this video/review. This is the second review that I've seen from Banggood gear, Ape did one the other day on a PWR/SWR meter that quite impressed me. When you think of Banggood, you sort of think of Temu quality stuff. However, when you look at the build quality of that tuner, there isn't much that you can pick to bits, as in poor quality, although the display could be a wee bit bigger. I have an FT-857 that I'd like to marry something like this to, certainly worth thinking about. 73, Mike.
AT-100M/Pro produced after May 1, 2024 supports 50-54Mhz. The current official website and instructions have not been updated because it needs to sell several batches before updating the parameter description.73
I have an earlier version of one of these I bought to use portable with the intention of having a range of about 25-30Mhz on one antenna, with my amp either inline or out. As it's only rated to 100w MAX input, I was worried about burning it up having it after the amp, so I tried the path RADIO-TUNER-AMP-ANTENNA and it works fine, it tunes the amp inline as a part of the antenna and I get 1.0-1:55 readings across 27.2xx -29.8xx and I run the 250w output from the amp after that. I KNOW this means I may be putting all the power into no more than a heat dissipator if the antenna actually has bad SWR. But pre tuning the antenna shows it has no part of the 25-30Mhz range that is above the 3:1 SWR limit, so I assume it's working well enough to use. A power meter inline also shows the full 250w going out to the antenna and the return loss shows as 1-5% and 3-7w coming back, depending on the part of the band I'm using at the time, this is mainly in the CW portion of 10m, and, as I don't do CW , I don't care. I have made contacts all over the world on the 11m band, and I have had great success on 10m aswell using my AT5555 radio with 3-5w output into the tuner, then the amp, this gives me about 80-90w output power. It's tiny, lightweight and easy to use. I reflashed the chip using a Pic3 so it will now trip the tuner at 0.5w input instead of the 6w factory setting, I HAVE NO IDEA how this might affect it's calibration and I have no way to test that side of it, but it seems to be OK , it doesn't get hot or do anything weird when I use it, so I assume it's still OK.
Yaesu is good about being in SSB mode but you can turn on CW AUTO MODE on and turn on BREAK IN. That way if you on SSB. You can still key up with your CW key to tune your ATU. If you don't have cables from the radio to the ATU. Or the ATU doesn't have cable connector.
Although I have the non-Pro version of AT-100M, it's by far the most reliable of the ATU-100 versions that I have (some 4 now). Good video, Chuck!
What camera do you use for your video content.. Is is it the same outside as inside?
Most of my videos are done with the Sony 6100, sometimes a Sony 5100 but not very often.
@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures Excellent quality 👌

CHUCK 👋 how’s the box treating you 😂 don’t despair
I threw it!
I bought the PRO when it first came out. Works as good, and I enjoy it.
Hello!
The older tuner antennas have the bay pass function, does the Atu-100M Pro also have bay pass?
Thank you if you clear this doubt!!!
Hello,
what maximum impedance is the tuner capable of tuning please?

Thx for the video. Whats its the difference between 100w or 10w?...the minimum power for starting tuning? 73

That is good to know thanks!
While I only use manual tuners now, I might have to check one of these out 👍
Right!

Lance I will thank you!

Mike you just need to be careful and pick and choose. I have a review of a portable diesel heater from BG and it's great. Thanks for the comment!
New follower here. Thanks for some very informative content.
Seems like a good deal.
But, do you feel superior to other people like Ape with his manual tuner? 😉
Ha I have a manual tuner! Looks down but no!
He don’t manual tuner right 😮
This tuner is a crap.
Hi Chuck,
Don't discount the LDG Z-100 Plus. It goes to 54 MHz. The AT-100M Pro only goes to 30MHz. 73 WJ3U
Don I still have the LDG

@@antuner What firmware version tunes 54Mhz? Also, can you shut that annoying speaker off?

Thanks, Chucky. I'll check it out!👍🤠🇦🇺
I like what I saw and ordered one for myself.
Where is it made? China?
How come all the testing was done on AM? Don't most of us use USB?
AM gives me a constant carrier, it works fine on either.

AT100 goes to 100 W SSB and AT100 PRO 125 W
And there's more !
