I made some sriracha with red serranos and it's the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. I'm also really loving my sugar rush peaches and 7 pots this year.
I know this is a year late but what a great variety! I really wanted to grow scotch bonnets this year but couldn’t get them in time. Hope you’re having a successful season this year as well!
I found a farmer who grows super hots by the pound. I buy as much as I like. Just picked up 6 lbs of Ghosts & 4 lbs of Reapers ;-) Super great channel Khang.
Your plants are amazing! Showing off their full potential. My favorite pepper this year has been the Serrano Tampiqueno. I wait until they turn red. They are sweet, juicy, nice texture kinda medium thick wall and have the right amount of heat for me, hot but not over-powering.
Growing jalapeños and Shishitos this year, they did so well in Phoenix where I live now, can’t wait to grow tons next year, got aji charipitas and habeneros to look forward to.
hi, a year late but how did your charapita and habaneros do for you? I'm in a very similar area as you so wondering what varieties do well in our climate. Also have you ever started a fall crop? It's obviously already May so wondering if it's too late to start seedlings to get peppers this year. Any insight is appreciated.
@@jesusflores7323 you can definitely start seedlings still in may. You might want to give them a little protection if it’s already really hot as they start out. And you Likely won’t get a harvest until fall. The habaneros do great here, I get a lot off of my single plant. The aji charapitas were a fail for me I can’t get those to grow for me even indoors under lights, my seeds germinate but start struggling immediately. Most pepper varieties will do great in my climate I have great success with jalapeños and basically any anuum varieties
@@robertcuff5704 great because I went out yesterday and bought myself a packet of habaneros, jalapenos and bell peppers. I suspect the bell peppers are the least likely to thrive in such conditions but what the heck. If they die they die. Also got some datil pepper seeds on the way just to try something a bit out of the box from what I usually see. Another variety that peaked my interest were these cayenne x thai pepper hybrids but I think I'm already getting carried away with too many for a 1st try. As for protection I have a shade cloth already set up to allow only full sun in the morning then the sun is over the shade cloth but that didn't stop an early heat wave of 97* from cooking my baby cucumbers last month so we'll see.
I didn't get much of a chance this year to start seeds this spring as I had hoped, so I'll try to make up for it next year. I did have a pleasant surprise when I bought some Jimmy Nardello seedlings locally. They're so sweet and fruity, that I don't think I'll miss any of the other sweet peppers that I've grown. Definitely doing more, and probably thai, serrano, cayenne, aji limo, and now I have to add santaka to the list (those plants look amazing). I also want to do scotch bonnets or habaneros, too, and maybe try some chiltepins. I don't know if I have enough space for this, but I can always try! Will probably put a bunch in the ground between fruit trees.
I love the flavor of the Trinidad Scorpion, also the Serrano!! I put these in the salsa I make! I’ve been harvesting lots of seeds for the PLC to give away.....just call me...Burning Hands! 😂😂
I just made hot sauce with my abundant dragon peppers. Now in fermentation phase. This is for my partner she likes them because they won't knock your socks off but have nice heat.
I wish I could grow container plants that nice. I just can't seem to work out a soil formula +fertilization plan that yields consistently good results throughout the lifetime of my plants and they always seem to be struggling in one way or another.
@@doodahgurlie he can probably take a crap in a styrofoam cup from a gas station and have it produce a beautiful pepper plant. How does the average person do that? THey don't.

So I live just outside San Antonio...and I've found that the heat seems to be slowing down production...any helpful hints to get production like your garden?
Set up a shade canopy high over them during the worst of the heat. Literal netting material will cut just enough of the sun’s blast to give them a relief.
Thanks! Where do I purchase seeds for these varieties? This was my first year and I grew a Chili and a Jalapeno and both got aphids. I wonder if any of the varieties mentioned in the video are less prone to attracting aphids.
@@Javajavajav Thank You! I learned my lesson this year on keeping a close watch for aphids. I waited too long before noticing them two different times.
