Nothing but dignity and respect between these two fine teams. Other rivals might as well throw down the football and pull out guns because it's not a game to them anymore. It will be harder to find examples of good sporstmanship to our children without this rivalry. I hope Texas is happy, I know I'll be rooting for the Sooners at the Red river. Go Big Red!

Football experts and others can say the rivalry is dead but to Oklahoma and Nebraska fans it will always live on in our hearts and memories. As far as the future..I have faith the rivalry will live once again. If Iowa can play Iowa State then why can't Oklahoma play Nebraska? Both fan bases need to get together and sign a petition and present it to those in charge at NU and OU. I just can't stand for this game not to be played. With SOS factoring in the playoff it makes sense anyway

Pt #2: By the way, this Lincoln born Husker went to the same school and had the same first grade teacher as Heisman Trophy winner Steve Owens, Ms. Wagoner at Washington Elementary in Miami (pronounced Miama), Oklahoma. He came to visit us in 1970 and it was like meeting God for us. I am now 50 and living in Knoxville but I will always be a Husker/Sooner till I stink 6 feet under!

2020 and 21, we WILL meet again! My family is all Sooners and Huskers, my dads uncle had a heart attack in one of those games. There has never been a rivalry with such respect and love between the fans. We almost represent each other in our conferences. This Husker Loves the Sooners and we missed playing the Sooners even in the Big 12. I'm an old Big 8 fan.

I feel like Nebraska and Iowa will be the opposite of this lol. It's gonna get ugly in Kinnick this year for Huskers.

I posted something very close to this a month or two ago durring a husker game on the ESPN "conversation" page and instantly got about 10 UPs. Seriously it is an absolute tragedy that this game is not played every year.
GBR! (and in the spirit of sportsmanship) BOOMER SOONER!!

The Sooners and the Huskers need each other. Both teams brought out the best in each other and both teams have not been as good since the rivalry ended

I love to see Oklahoma win games now because it makes us look better to have beat and lose to a good team.

@ThunderSooner2835 Things have changed in the last 10 years in Norman. Things were headed that way in Lincoln too for the better part of the decade. The difference is Nebraska realized that the direction we were going was not for us. Sure thats linked to Tom but whose in Norman these days?...i never thought id see the day when Oklahoma would be so submissive to Texas...a program that OU and NU made. I always missed the Big 8, small schools vs the big boys. GBR!

So do I. We get to play them this year and next. Of course, that depends on how things go w/ covid. Keep your fingers crossed. Switzer/Osborne, those were some real battles. Sims, Rozier, Mildren, Tagge, Kinney, Hipp, Tillman, Holieway, Bosworth, Watts, I could go on and on and on.

@Cakevspie94 I also respect Oklahoma fans, they've kicked our asses, we've kicked theirs, it's not a blind hatred like us towards Texas or Colorado and Missouri towards us, especially Colorado, the people up in Boulder get CRAZY when we beat them, y'know like throwing water bottles, snowballs, oranges, etc.
