My husband cheated on me this year and we divorced in October after 34 years of marriage. My 94 year old mother passed away to Covid this past Sunday. Heartbreaking year to say the least. Thank you for your channel. You Tube videos and watching positive people has helped distract me this awful year.

Thank you for your videos throughout the year ... they always put a smile on my face. It's been a hard year for me too. Both my parents passed away within months of each other at the start of the year. I lost my job and Melbourne Australia was in a hard lockdown for months which gave me too much time to think. I'm trying to focus on the things I'm grateful for now but its hard to stay positive sometimes.Thanks again for your vids and hope you have a lovely Xmas xxx

This was so inspiring. I lost my Mom in September, she was 90 and my best friend. Without my faith, I don't know what I'd do. I am so happy that Doug is now a man of faith, my husband recently found his faith too. Having the Lord in a marriage is like a cord with three strands, a braid (God's knot). It has helped us and we'll be married 40 years in 2021. That is such a blessing your entire family lives on the same block! Merry Christmas!

Oh Melissa this is such a wonderful video! I’m very much behind in everything. This past year I was diagnosed with advanced Lyme disease and I lost my job, some friends, ability to remember things - my whole world was upside down and all I could do was sleep. But as you’ve said, there are many things to still be grateful for. I loved the friendships you mentioned, your in-laws and family being close and Doug’s faith - these are worth everything! I went to visit in the south one summer and they ate me alive!! I had 20 bites on each arm & leg, then my neck and other places that turned into golf ball sized welts. That is lucky that your kids live close and you have everyone close . You have certainly had some really nice GOOD things this year!!

Melissa i love how down to earth you are & that you share some of the hard things in life with us.its been a rough year staying away from alot of family.when we retired we were looking forward to traveling some. well let me tell you it didnt work out for us. we had about a yr & a half took 1 long trip that was for a couple of months & my husband health went down her lost his toes in a wheelchair for almost a yr but he has never been the same that was 6 yrs ago.now he can hardly walk so he doesnt go hardly anywhere & since covid we have pretty much been home!! so we are together 24-7 & sometimes thats hard. we will be married 52 yrs in april long time but if i didnt have my faith i couldnt have made it thru these hard times in the last 7 yrs. having faith says alot!! thank you for sharing have a great new years eve sweet friend blessing love & hugs to you!!

Hi Melissa, I have been watching your videos, and you have such a natural beauty with basic but good products... I hope I can age as well as you...I love how you express yourself in an honest way. Always very sweet. I also liked what you mentioned at the end of your video about Doug and his faith. And the fact that he is a lawyer and he is such a logical person. I am that way too. Emotional faiths don't appeal me much and in my quest to find a logical religion that makes sense in everything, I find Jehovah's witnesses the ones that make most sense. They study the Bible in depth and they can answer with the Bible even the deepest questions related to God and life. That's why I was wondering if Doug had studied the Bible with one of them...
You are so fortunate that your grandchildren can live on the same street with you. And more than they realize they are the fortunate ones living within easy reach of each other and of you and your husband. My grandchildren are experiencing this in another country and I tell my husband often when they are older they will have so many stories to tell and so many things to tell their children and grandchildren about living through this pandemic as children & all of the the numerous times schools closed then reopened all the many quarantined, and so forth (since things are done a little differently there) but pretty similar to here.
I had never had a dog ever until 1 yr ago. I lost my son recently & this little loving dog has brought me so much comfort, on the bad days he is always next to me & is the 1 thing I can find joy in.

Thank you for sharing your 20 favorites for 2020. This year has been a very hard year for so many people all over the world. But yes it's our faith that helps us to make it through each and everyday. We learn to appreciate the simple things in life sometimes when you have too much of everything you take things for granted but this year bought us back to reality. We must always trust in our Lord be humble and thankful.
Melissa...I did not realize that you have Crohn’s! I know you mentioned autoimmune before but I never realized what it was. I was diagnosed 2 years ago at the age of 63. Fortunately Humira worked wonderfully for me.....but I go on Medicare this year and they will not pay for the Humira.....we do not have the resources to pay the 5800.00 a month for it. I may have to go on an infusion as well....as far as I know, Medicare covers the infusion.....no wonder our medical system is broken! Thank you for sharing the many blessings...I can relate to so many. Merry Christmas....

I really appreciate you sharing about your financial situation. It’s been a really stressful year for us too. And you went there...about the fighting. It helps to know that others are dealing with this too. Also, I saw a video where you mentioned needing medication for mental health and I can relate to that.. I struggled for a few years in my thirties after a divorce but thought at 69 that it was behind me, until this year. All I can say is bless the scientists who gave us the meds that help with that. Unless a person has experienced what not sleeping can do to your mind, they just don’t know. It is as you said a black hole and I’m surprised that I made it through this second time. Love this video! Very challenging year instead, but so many blessings as well; my daughter had a baby and it’s my first grandchild and I was able to go visit them (they live in a different state). Also very recently divorced, so it’s been up and down for me making the best of the situation and believing God for a bright future. I love my Havaianas, got them during summer when you recommended them in your “Workhorse “ video. And I’ve recently got a couple of lipsticks from BHCosmetics, it’s the Cashmere Cream Comfort Lipstick.... wow I’m in love with them, so hydrating and long lasting, specially when I use Tretinoin and my lips get so dry out..... under $10 ! This was such an uplifting video! My darling mom passed away this year and it was tough at the end. I thought that after she passed, II would be free to travel but, of course, that didn't happen. Although everyone's lives got turned upside down, I think it's ridiculous to blame the year for circumstances. Life ebbs and flows and there are things to learn from every year. Oliver is precious. I have my two doggies with me while I work also, and like you, there’s nothing like having them next to you. They bring so much joy to our lives and love us unconditionally. Oliver looks like a poodle. How old is he? We have a 13 yr old Morkie and a 1 yr old standard poodle, Maggie. Our poodle is the most lovable, sweetest dog we’ve ever owned. I can’t remember if I have asked you if you and Doug have watched Foyle’s War. It is a British crime drama set in and after WWII. It is wonderful. The episodes are usually 90 minutes and there are 10 seasons with about 10 episodes each. You should be able to get it on Acorn. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My husband cheated on me this year and we divorced in October after 34 years of marriage. My 94 year old mother passed away to Covid this past Sunday. Heartbreaking year to say the least. Both my parents passed away within months of each other at the start of the year. I lost my job and Melbourne Australia was in a hard lockdown for months which gave me too much time to think. This was so inspiring. I lost my Mom in September, she was 90 and my best friend. Without my faith, I don't know what I'd do. I am so happy that Doug is now a man of faith, my husband recently found his faith too. Having the Lord in a marriage is like a cord with three strands, a braid (God's knot). It has helped us and we'll be married 40 years in 2021. That is such a blessing your entire family lives on the same block! Merry Christmas!

This past year I was diagnosed with advanced Lyme disease and I lost my job, some friends, ability to remember things - my whole world was upside down and all I could do was sleep. But as you’ve said, there are many things to still be grateful for. I loved the friendships you mentioned, your in-laws and family being close and Doug’s faith - these are worth everything! I went to visit in the south one summer and they ate me alive!! I had 20 bites on each arm & leg, then my neck and other places that turned into golf ball sized welts. Melissa i love how down to earth you are & that you share some of the hard things in life with us.its been a rough year staying away from alot of family.when we retired we were looking forward to traveling some. well let me tell you it didnt work out for us. we had about a yr & a half took 1 long trip that was for a couple of months & my husband health went down her lost his toes in a wheelchair for almost a yr but he has never been the same that was 6 yrs ago.now he can hardly walk so he doesnt go hardly anywhere & since covid we have pretty much been home!! so we are together 24-7 & sometimes thats hard. we will be married 52 yrs in april long time but if i didnt have my faith i couldnt have made it thru these hard times in the last 7 yrs. having faith says alot!! thank you for sharing have a great new years eve sweet friend blessing love & hugs to you!!

Hi Melissa, I have been watching your videos, and you have such a natural beauty with basic but good products... I hope I can age as well as you...I love how you express yourself in an honest way. Always very sweet. I also liked what you mentioned at the end of your video about Doug and his faith. And the fact that he is a lawyer and he is such a logical person. I am that way too. Emotional faiths don't appeal me much and in my quest to find a logical religion that makes sense in everything, I find Jehovah's witnesses the ones that make most sense. They study the Bible in depth and they can answer with the Bible even the deepest questions related to God and life. That's why I was wondering if Doug had studied the Bible with one of them...
You are so fortunate that your grandchildren can live on the same street with you. And more than they realize they are the fortunate ones living within easy reach of each other and of you and your husband.
My grandchildren are experiencing this in another country and I tell my husband often when they are older they will have so many stories to tell and so many things to tell their children and grandchildren about living through this pandemic as children & all of the the numerous times schools closed then reopened all the many quarantined, and so forth (since things are done a little differently there) but pretty similar to here.
I had never had a dog ever until 1 yr ago. I lost my son recently & this little loving dog has brought me so much comfort, on the bad days he is always next to me & is the 1 thing I can find joy in.

Thank you for sharing your 20 favorites for 2020. This year has been a very hard year for so many people all over the world. But yes it's our faith that helps us to make it through each and everyday. We learn to appreciate the simple things in life sometimes when you have too much of everything you take things for granted but this year bought us back to reality. We must always trust in our Lord be humble and thankful.
Melissa...I did not realize that you have Crohn’s! I know you mentioned autoimmune before but I never realized what it was. I was diagnosed 2 years ago at the age of 63. Fortunately Humira worked wonderfully for me.....but I go on Medicare this year and they will not pay for the Humira.....we do not have the resources to pay the 5800.00 a month for it. I may have to go on an infusion as well....as far as I know, Medicare covers the infusion.....no wonder our medical system is broken! Thank you for sharing the many blessings...I can relate to so many. Merry Christmas....

I really appreciate you sharing about your financial situation. It’s been a really stressful year for us too. And you went there...about the fighting. It helps to know that others are dealing with this too. Also, I saw a video where you mentioned needing medication for mental health and I can relate to that.. I struggled for a few years in my thirties after a divorce but thought at 69 that it was behind me, until this year. All I can say is bless the scientists who gave us the meds that help with that. Unless a person has experienced what not sleeping can do to your mind, they just don’t know. It is as you said a black hole and I’m surprised that I made it through this second time. Very challenging year instead, but so many blessings as well; my daughter had a baby and it’s my first grandchild and I was able to go visit them (they live in a different state).
Also very recently divorced, so it’s been up and down for me making the best of the situation and believing God for a bright future.
I love my Havaianas, got them during summer when you recommended them in your “Workhorse “ video.
And I’ve recently got a couple of lipsticks from BHCosmetics, it’s the Cashmere Cream Comfort Lipstick.... wow I’m in love with them, so hydrating and long lasting, specially when I use Tretinoin and my lips get so dry out..... under $10 !

There have been many emotional hills and valleys and I find that watching you brings me peace and calmness. This was such an uplifting video! My darling mom passed away this year and it was tough at the end. I thought that after she passed, II would be free to travel but, of course, that didn't happen. Although everyone's lives got turned upside down, I think it's ridiculous to blame the year for circumstances. Life ebbs and flows and there are things to learn from every year. Melissa, you are beautiful inside and out! Love you to bits.

Thankyou for your candour Melissa about your relationship being strained; almost to breaking point at times. To see what's happening around the world, especially to the most impoverished and disadvantaged people is so horrendous. I do often think of the ripple effects on mental health, relationships, small businesses, those that were already struggling or barely getting by. I feel for all of you in the USA where you would have had such a tumultuous year even without Covid. IWishing you and Doug and your family a calm and peaceful 2021.

Oliver is precious. I have my two doggies with me while I work also, and like you, there’s nothing like having them next to you. They bring so much joy to our lives and love us unconditionally. Oliver looks like a poodle. How old is he? We have a 13 yr old Morkie and a 1 yr old standard poodle, Maggie. Our poodle is the most lovable, sweetest dog we’ve ever owned. I can’t remember if I have asked you if you and Doug have watched Foyle’s War. It is a British crime drama set in and after WWII. It is wonderful. The episodes are usually 90 minutes and there are 10 seasons with about 10 episodes each. You should be able to get it on Acorn. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I hope you’re Christmas was beautiful. This was a strange year &scary. You needed a great deal of faith to get through the year. Things haven’t changed much for me. I don’t go out much. I had so much stress from Covid & politics. There were good parts . Getting closer to your family & friends. I also think Covid tore families apart. I was most scared for women & children that lived with abusive parents or partners. Love you, Lucy
Thank you for being so honest with your story about Doug and the stress this year has put on many couples. It has been quite an adjustment for us just being around each other nonstop and then add all the other stress of this year and it's become the perfect storm.
