  • An exclusive report from our day with Team Cofidis at the Tour of Britain Women's race 2024. We joined the team on stage 1 from Welshpool to Llandudno. I joined the team's Director Sportive in the team car as we followed behind the peloton. We watched the team briefing in the bus, spoke to the riders on how important the tour was to them, as well as their nutrition and training. We also took a good look at the teams fleet of LOOK 795 Blade RS bikes, how they set them up and all the equipment choices.
This video was made possible because Arthur, the DS is a fan of the channel and reached out to ask if we would like to join them for the day. This video was not sponsored by Look or anyone else. Mapdec paid for our expenses.

This was really interesting and a well put together insight into professional road racing. I'd almost go as far to say that GCN need to be looking over their shoulder at what can be created and produced from the smaller TH-cam channels out there. 👍

Great video Paul, showing a perspective of a bike race I've never seen before with the pre race meeting and being in the car with the DS. Well shot and edited as well.

« A bit of broken French and English », generally we simply call that « speaking English » 😂 I’m glad you had access to the briefing and the team car, you looked very natural.

Can someone please explain the MAVIC car ? I thought that service was taken over by Shimano ! Would be nice for MAVIC to come back in on the scene , part of their comeback I hope !!! May they go on forever !!!

Oh. It’s not the Mavic neutral service. It’s the team car of a team sponsored by Mavic. The neutral service car was the Shimano one you saw later on.

Further to Paul's answer, the team would be St Michel-Mavic-Auber 93. It's only since last year that they've had Mavic in their name, previously they were just St Michel-Auber 93, although Mavic has supported the men's team for decades. The women's team, as with the Cofidis women's team, was formed only in recent years, but both these teams are making progress and have had wins just in the past few weeks. If you Google the team's name it should lead you to a page on the Mavic website.

Also, Mavic pulled out of the TDF neutral service, but that doesn't mean they aren't still involved.

@@diehardbikes I know they did , because it was a cost they could no longer afford ! Maybe you are missing my point , I want to see MAVIC survive , they were very close to finished and that can still happen if they don’t sell the goods they make !!!
