Yeah, JT I like it when you go to Walton are there about the Gaines’s house, because you always catch a lot of Norfolk Southern trains coming through there and I like the interstate heritage unit as a DPU but anyway, my friend another awesome video and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
Art around 23:19 saw the Heritage unit. It running as DPU with NS 4614 locomotive. TY lots of great trains today. TY for the radar too. I trust it. My fav part of the video is your "AW shucks" moment set to your music. TY for the peanut butter treat clip. Great replays, stills and live action. See ya again tomorrow.
Love it Brian....! They used to radar us on the UP occasionally... I loved "smoking em"..... I'd wave at them.... LOL Those crews on the NS probably think your an official checking their speed...! Another great railroading video out on the "high Iron"...! 5 STARS JAWTOOTH!
The train speed going up, or down is part of a system designed to keep engineers from falling asleep. Every 15 min or so they need to adjust train speed up or down or the train will eventually automatically stop. It is a small task, not hard to do but keeps them engaged in safely running their trains.
Love them ... They always felt much faster when Hoboing them back when I was younger.....I am correct when I say around 80 mph in open track....I would like to see some footage of Southwest Virginia Tazewell County around there about. Like your knit cap..... Love what you are doing for the viewers..... Thanks and stay safe....
I remember when trans were going 70-80 mph pretty regularly, freights with cross country cabooses, and the cross country passenger trains as well when on lengthy routes between stops.
You bet! Wow, thanks for that huge Super Thanks! That will fill up the gas tank for sure and I really appreciate it! I'm just now getting out to catch a few trains and noticed this. Not sure how I can thank you enough but thanks for your huge support Mike!
It sure is cold in southeast Georgia this morning. Good morning Mr JT❤ We know you're freezing. Checking the speed of trains is so awesome. Loved the angles you shot here. Thanks for all your sacrifices in all kinds of weather.❤ Your fur babies are so adorable and beautiful. Loved this video. Have a blessed day. Thanks!❤😊
I appreciate that and I will keep making content! I was just heading out the door and I showed Mrs Tooth your Super Thanks. I'm really glad that my videos are enjoyed by people and I am glad to add positivity to the world. Thanks again Mike!
JT, mega awesome freight trains 🚆 video 📹, awesome with the radar gun 🔫 and the no defects detector, one of the automobile carriages was taller than the rest 🙈, not a great deal of room there, where you cut the branches next to the bridge 🌉 is a very cool 😎 spot, around where you do a lot if your great work, do you see trains 🚆, well up above 40mph, 50mph.?? Or more ???
Train speeds can be deceptive and sometimes the ones you think that should be going fast like Intermodal are actually paddling along wild some drag freights are actually clipping along fairly well. @12:30 the nice clean and apparently new UCRY autorack is definitely taller than the rest. Just how tall can they go? When they were new TTQX tri-levels had special markings and clearance printed on the side @ 20'2" somewhere a bridge beam awaits them. @34:12.the TTPX bulkhead flat car reminds one of the plaintive request by the kid singing "All I want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth" when you look at the wooden bulkheads that are ground away. Either the commodity didn't fit quite right or there were some sudden stops. All types of trains today carrying all types of merchandise probably including some cases of peanut butter for man's best friend
Check the radar gun against your car. Have a family member drive down the road at a set speed and check the speed with the radar gum. Verify the car speedometer with GPS. One of my cars is always 1 MPH slower than the speedometer reads and my other car is always 2 mph slower then the speedometer reads according to GPS.
How do you come across these trains? Do you have a schedule, wait all day for one to come through, do you have spotters, monitor scanners on where to go, or is it pure luck?
I know u said some people were saying they thought your radar gun was off if u put a mark on rail before train gets there hear take a stopwatch and get the length on ur scanner u should be able to do math on aproxament speed of train see ur back to the funky bridge still wonder why the made one side taller than other 😮
So many comments less than an hour after you posted this long video, Jaw Tooth. Y’all have some devoted early morning fans! Including me too, I guess. I’m still watching it, just got done with the second CSX train under the bridge. Slow and short, but that angle makes them enjoyable to watch. Great video so far, buddy. I for one am pretty grateful for your passion for trains and for railroads in general , and for your tenacity when braving uncomfortable weather conditions, and your patience in waiting for the trains. You’re a railfan rock star! Watching your channel from the heart of the Ozarks for seven years and counting now, and it just keeps getting better! The great train footage, the “Live Action Pets, and your “Live Action Kids” competing in various sports, like the soccer match you put in yesterday’s video. Those girls are quite good at soccer, scoring most of their team’s goals. They’re stars in their own right! You’re a blessed man with a great family. You’re also a blessing to your viewers because of the things that I mentioned above. God bless you and yours, and keep you all healthy, prosperous, and protected, in Jesus’ name. 🙏🏼🚂👍🏼🇺🇸✝️👊🏼🛤️

At 23:19 the orange DPU is NS 8105, a GE ES44AC Heritage unit, painted in the Interstate RR scheme.

How do you come across these trains? Do you have a schedule, wait all day for one to come through, do you have spotters, monitor scanners on where to go, or is it pure luck?
Say Jaw Tooth... Just wandering why North Fork Southern always in a big hurry? Seems like they like speeding on the tracks.
All the trains seemed to have more squealing, screeching axels than many of your other videos. How come?
Good morning, all!
