Good morning from Thonburi, ace vid. I like it that the hotels and prices are up there now on screen. i know soi 12 very well and great to see it again :}
I was shocked at some of the hotel prices, normally I pay around £100 per night for 5* in Bangkok in a business room, so some are definitely overpriced here 🙏🙏
I always live at The Cuba hotel when I’m in Pattaya. Great that you cover this route. From that hotel to Three Town it is 3 minutes with motorbike taxi. The breakfast are very good there by the way.
Excellent ride round. So much great information. Trip down memory lane for me. Soi 12 Klang what is now Nova hotel previously Amari Nova suites where they had the ice bar. Stayed there for many years along with the Dusit Thani. Great huge rooms at the Amari for the money. Very popular with Indians now. Can’t argue with the 99 baht Time far breakfast as far as price goes but for just a little more you can go to another level of quality in the area. Credit to Time Bar. I recall when it wasn’t anywhere near as popular as it is now. Packed out in the evenings with their excellent drinks prices and great staff. The last meal I had in the UK recently was a £6.99 all you can eat Toby breakfast which was actually very good value for money and decent surprisingly decent quality.
8.50 all you can eat breakfast. In my local cafe its 5 quid for 2 bacon 2 sausage 2 eggs beans tomato hash browns mushrooms black pudding toast n coffee
You should try the market cafe on Soi New Plaza directly opposite NP Residence. I really enjoy the breakfast there, might not be everyone's cup of tea but it does me well.
Yeah i had the 99 baht breakfast at Time bar too , should have gone for the 129 baht one, Drinks are good prices there the Blend285 Whisky and soda is 50 baht and you can get a double for 80 at certain times..
Just got to the food part of the video. Wow great value. I am weird, I don't eat onions (the devil's work :)), are there any local Thai dishes that don't include them, I saw Pad Thai on the menu there, that seems pretty popular, onions ?
If you're looking for Thai food without onions, you can opt for dishes like: Kai Jeaw (omelette), Moo Ping (pork skewers), Gai Yang (grilled chicken), Pla Krapong Tod Nam Pla (fried seabass with fish sauce), Khao Neua (beef rice), Satay, Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup), Khao Soi (northern Thai noodle soup), and most steamed or boiled vegetables, as long as you specify "no onion" when ordering. Personally I love Onions, but not so keen on Tomatoes and Bell Peppers 🙏🙏
Great stuff again David. Question for you if you have the time, Why Pattaya? Why did you chose there and not, Bangkok, Hua Hin, Chang Mi, Koh Samui or Phuket or elsewhere? Oh and you say the town is changing, for the better or not?
For me Pattaya was where we came on holiday, Bangkok came over as just too busy and I preferred the structure in Pattaya over Chiang Mai. Been coming to Pattaya since about 1993 and moved here in 2012. The changes in the town will probably benefit the town overall, but possibly not what the town is famous for 🙏🙏
A few trips ago i purchased a bike off "Baht & Sold" and pedalled around Pattaya! Going further than I could on foot! Loved it! Took it back Australia and sold it! Looking and gettng another bike on one of my upcoming trips
Kim Fletcher ex Shannagans . Jameson now as his own bar Fletchers Folly on Siam Country Road .new him when he was chef at Jules restaurant in Bangkok over 30years ago .the Irish bar was Mulligans robbing gits charged 500bht to a table on the balcony on Saint Patrick's Day
Stayed at the Arbor last year. IMO not very nice. Catered to Asians. Showers are limited to 4 minutes. When you hit 4 minutes the water turns off and you have to wait 5 minutes to continue. Claims to be 5 star, maybe 3 star
Breakfast similar to that in the US Midwest, where the cost of living is relatively low compare to the coasts, is $18 at a pretty bog standard chain. IHop. Add $7 for coffee and OJ, plus a 15% tip you're getting near $30.00. I have to wonder why some people call the places you visit there expensive. 🤔
Loving the hotel and price popping up as u ride about! Good stuff.

Another great BoB,David! These daytime tours are fascinating as we get to see Pattaya in a whole new light

I love time bar. I start my nights there. 50b beer! And the girls are never pushy. Quality place. Be there this week. 😂

Nice ride today David. My go to place is I-Rover but have enjoyed breakfast in Time Bar. Usually on an Aussie sport morning when I-Rover is packed.
50 baht for a Singha sign me up definitely start my night there.
It's one of the best breakfast bike rides so far. Get to see the other side of Pattaya. Very nice.
Great ride David! Used to love Gullivers but had horrific food poisoning about 5 years ago so never been back. Used to like it for Sunday footy.
Thankfully we have never had any issues there, but am always on the Thai menu, normally beef Masaman 🙏🙏
Thats great value for what you got. cafe's near me would charge at least £7 for that that brekky and drinks Dave.
8.50 all you can eat breakfast. In my local cafe its 5 quid for 2 bacon 2 sausage 2 eggs beans tomato hash browns mushrooms black pudding toast n coffee
£8.50 sounds like a bargain, my last UK breakfast at a UK supermarket was over 6 years ago and was £7, but it was terrible 🙏🙏
You should try the market cafe on Soi New Plaza directly opposite NP Residence. I really enjoy the breakfast there, might not be everyone's cup of tea but it does me well.
Kungs Is usually my regular costs a bit more but decent quality
Excellent
I'm surprised more places don't do rental bicycles. I think that might be a good business somewhere near beach road.
thanks David!
Soi honey best soi now
Definitely on the up 🙏🙏
Beans are great for breakfast because legumes are a very good aide in absorption of nutrients and digestion. Cafe Pitini?
Already shown on BOB 8

Definitely a great way to get around the town, traffic, generally, seems to be more thoughtful towards bike riders. 🙏🙏
Hi David. From witch site did you get the hotel prices?
Hotels. Com 🙏🙏
Thats a LOT of hotels together in area

Yes I see Kim post now and then. Never saw Mulligans open, I don't think, but bad show charging for a table for St Patrick's day 🙏🙏
On Beach Road it appears road markings indicate the car had right of way 🤔
Enjoyed immensely 🏆❤🙏
Lol, only if he stayed in the left lane, glad you enjoyed the day tour 🙏🙏
I had the 'Desert Special'..baked camel.
No tip?
Of course I do, the 100 baht is just to show that you can eat for one note 😂😂
60 BAHT San Mig beer-im IN!
I'm trying to use google translator but don't know this gentleman's language.
In the UK I can buy a can of RedBull for £2.70. insane.

Yes I had a friend staying there, but moved fairly quickly. Clearly has construction issues if the limit water for showers 🙏
My God this city have only lady bar lady massagge and ladyboy 1"300 nath bomm boom
There's much more but if those are the things that interest you most, they're the things you'll notice most. 🤷♂
