The entire point of dunsparce is that is isnt interesting, its literally based on a myth of a fat snake creature that doesn’t do anything. But people wanted an evo, so the made it as boring as possible to jeep with the inspiration. Its literally a dud-dunspace
For me, that's the worst gen in terms of design. There are some good mons there, but in general they look bad and not Pokemons at all... Not because they are less like an animal, but because the design doesn't look polished enough for me.
People have so many different preferences! I love this new dex of Pokémon. The designs are really enhanced by how they express themselves in the game through their animations. For me personally, this is better than what we got in gen 8 The design direction for Pokémon has vastly changed over the years so I can see why some people don't like the new look. Gen 3 was peak Pokémon design style imo

I know what the inspiration is. I understand the evolution. That doesn't mean I have to like the design
Most of these look more like Digimon than Pokémon
There's nowhere near enough detail on these to look like Digimon, aside from maybe Ceruledge
