    • @whoami7721
      @whoami7721 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +33

      I remember where I was when I heard. I'd just gotten to my "permanent duty station" in the Army, at Fort Carson, Colorado. April 8th, the day Kurt was found at he was found, was a Friday. I was looking forward to the weekend. I heard that morning, just before heading to work. It felt like losing an older brother. I was down for months afterwards. My brother and I had just seen Nirvana play in December. It's cliche to say this, but it felt surreal. It's hard for me to believe, but Kurt's been gone long than he's alive, and he's joined that rare rock crowd where his music is timeless and immortal.

      It reminds me of the last couple of line melon concerts. Shannon Hoon wasn't terrible shape because of heroin too. It's a shame that so many of these people were such idiots for doing this, and had so many idiots around them getting them the wrong kind of support.
      How many musicians from the '90s die from drugs like this? Way too many. Can you imagine if they were also alive? They could have all been the next rolling Stones

But, he used heroin the most during 1989-1994 obviously to get through and ease his constant and difficult stomach pains, which was caused by his bad singing technique. That's basically it.

    Something about kurt cobain playing "drain you" for the last time feels surreal. It's bittersweet to know he got to play his favorite song at his last concert. Bitter because he would never get to sing this song again, but sweet because he got it in one last time. He was such a huge influence to me and he was the reason I picked up a guitar. Rest in peace, Kurt. You changed my and so many other people's lives.

    It's really sad seeing this show. Man, is it rough. Kurt was completely done by this point and had called quits by the end of the show, he wanted nothing to do with the spotlight or world anymore and only two days later, he would attempt to end his own life with a mix of alcohol and Rohypnol. People blame Courtney for this, however I think his mind was already made up, she was simply the straw that broke the camel's back.
    After his stint in Rome, Courtney took preventative measures to ensure there was no drugs in the house but Kurt was spiraling bad, hiding behind bushes to shoot up and spending most of time in the Marco Polo hotel, completely isolated. March 25th 1994, his family and friends staged an infamous intervention, he went to rehab and the rest is history.
    This is something he wrote on March 28th, 1994:
    "Whatever I'm doing has not worked, whatever I've done, I've not done well. Even though the needle fixations (the urge to shoot water, just to excite my endorphins) are completely gone and the periods in which I slip are getting farther and farther apart and it's been two years since I've been physically addicted. I still slip or in 12 step terms, "relapse". It usually only happens for one night, very rarely a binge of a few days but I still fuck up and I can't afford it. Not once more because everytime it causes more horrendous problems for the people I work with and those who care about me. I now, on this very sad day, I have finally surrendered, I need to be brainwashed, I need to be reminded everyday that I got high that day. This is a very sad day"

      @@ronirave I get that but you gotta understand something. The majority of evidence presented by Tom Grant is fraudulent, it's unfortunate though because the misinformation is so popular.
      Here's to debunk a few key pieces of evidence
      "He had a lethal dose": no such thing given tolerance and potency. Studies have shown that not only can people take more than 225 mg but can function perfectly fine with copious amounts of heroin in their system
      "The gun was wiped/burned down"; neither of these statements are true and are disproven by documentation as well as the gun still being in tact as shown by the SPD
      "He wanted a divorce": Kinda, it's complicated. He and Courtney had a turbulent relationship but he never actually contacted a divorce lawyer. He moved into Lake Washington Boulevard with Courtney around that same time and only told his band's lawyer, Rosemary Caroll.
      "The note was questioned by several experts"; yeah haha, no. Look, the note was analyzed by the likes of Janis Parker, who did the original note, Carole Chaski who did the reprint and Heidi Harralson. All which concluded it was suicide and all whom got silenced and edited to fit a narrative by Benjamin Statler
      "The Rome incident was an accident and Kurt never locked himself in a room with guns on March 18th"
      Nobody pops a bunch of pills individually like he did, in packs like that you have to go one by one. So unless he was drugged then there is no proof and he was the one who said he did it, even when he was adamantly denying his suicidal ideation. Marco Cestoni is a representative of Geffen in Italy and he paid off the American Hospital to give an official statement to keep the press off his back. Dr.Osvaldi, who stated it was an accident, admitted days later in Italian media that he knew Kurt was trying to end his life because quote "I could tell he was a veteran junkie" and so he kept him in a room with no windows, etc.As for the 18th, without other eye witnesses, we don't know what happened before law enforcement arrived
      There's more I could pick apart but long story short, the theory is shit. Kurt ended his own life because he was massively depressed, on a European tour he didn't wanna be on, struggling with his close relationships and dealing with it all by popping benzos and chasing the dragon. Everything wrong in his life was under the umbrella of drugs because that's the only way he knew how to cope

    • @Abigspider

      @@ronirave He wasn't murdered, all the alleged evidence by Tom has been refuted by people such as Vernon J Gerberth, Sheila Lowe, Janis Parker, Heidi Harralson, Ceryl Wright, etc. Everyone who worked on Soaked In Bleach said it was a lie and then some, Benjamin Statler and Tom Grant are not your friends.
      I tried to debunk the evidence for you and you either reported me for nothing or you simply didn't see it
      There's no such thing as a lethal dose, his handwriting was never refuted by experts, there were fingerprints, the firearm wasn't melted down, Rome wasn't an accident at the admittance of Marco Cestoni and Dr.Osvadi and he had a history of ideation
      Most of you don't even believe he was killed, you just hate Courtney and wanna blame her for a grown man choosing to die. It doesn't matter how much I debunk because you WANT it to be a homicide

    The March 1 Munich show was held in Terminal Einz, a WWII-era airplane hanger that was now being used as a concert venue.
    Not much remodeling had been done to the facility. It was cold and damp and had acoustics that were horrid for a band with boomy sound like Nirvana.
    Kurt hated the look of the place and cursed the fact that his career had progressed to the point where Nirvana were playing airplane hangers, though part of the reason for this was their huge fan base, which was too large and rowdy for most European operahouse venues.

      At the soundcheck that afternoon, Kurt asked his tour manager for an advance on his per diem. After collecting his money, he said, “I’ll be back for the show.” Some in the crew were surprised to hear that he was leaving the facility considering that, moments earlier, he had been complaining of feeling so ill that he couldn’t stand up or play the concert. “I’m going to the train station,” he announced. Everyone in the crew and band knew that meant he was looking for Munich’s drug culture, not that he was seeking transportation.

      Terminal Einz held 3,050, and the venue was filled to capacity for Nirvana’s first show in Germany in three and a half years. Few in the crowd would have noticed, but from the opening notes, Cobain looked half-dead, and his performance, which had been rote on much of the tour, was almost robotic. He began with a cover of the Cars’ “My Best Friend’s Girl,” but even this tune was redone so that it sounded slowed down and drone-like, as if Kurt had wanted to take any element of pop out of his sound. Co-guitarist Pat Smear later recalled that Kurt’s voice was indeed completely shot by Munich show. “Kurt and I were suffering from bronchitis, and his voice became noticeably more trashed with every song,” Smear told journalist Rasmus Holmen. “When we sang together, we sounded like cats fighting. His voice was _sooooo_ gone, but instead of trying to conserve it, he seemed to delight in pushing it to the ‘I won’t be able to sing for days’ limit. After a while it was a bit much.” To Novoselic and Grohl, who had been on the road with Kurt for more years than Smear, it was obvious that if the band was going to self-destruct, it would be Kurt’s doing.

    • @norraguldheden
      @norraguldheden 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      The show itself ran 23 songs, but later some remarked that it felt doomed. The power in the building went out just as Kurt began to sing the first line of “Come As You Are,” the sixth song of the set, and it was several minutes before the problem could be fixed. This kind of technical problem had happened frequently to Nirvana during their career, but never in a cold, drafty airplane hanger. Rather than wait for the crew to fix the problem, Kurt walked off to his dressing room. (...)
      Back in Munich, only once power was fully restored did Kurt return to the stage. Without a word or a smile, he began playing “Come As You Are” once again. The song sounded even more lifeless this time. In total, the band played 23 songs and ended with “Heart-Shaped Box,” the same song that had ended the previous eight shows. The show did not end with triumph, or any feeling of victory- *it just ended*.
