In the last years of my life, I’ve saved $1000 for emergency funds and haven’t touched the money. I’m proud of myself and now working on this year’s. I’m also saving another amount just cause and plan to just keep the money until I need it. Thanks for sharing these tips with us. Super helpful! I’m reading a Bible plan now to help me with my view of finances and being a better steward of my money .
Tithing is definitely the one thing that's changed my money habit. Trusting God for the last few years of my life with my money He's done more than whatever I could have ever thought. There's moments that you try to do the calculation in your head and you're like how is all this going to be taken care of with this amount here and he always makes a way.
I'm a teenage South African CHRISTIAN TH-camr I'm really inspired by you. Our generation is slowly but surely getting back to God and I love that for us❤🥹
Love your content! Money habit: Cook at home more. I started viewing eating out as a privilege and a luxury, the way it was when I was a child, and it has curbed my spending habits tremendously.
Yes, yes so true... And have fun trying out those restaurant favorites at home; find a recipe and enjoy the savings even more as you're enjoying the yummy masterpiece at home.
Wow this was for me. I LITERALLY just prayed to God about my finances, because I've been struggling sis. I'm blown away by your Holy Spirit lead content! God was just telling me to focus on my finances at this time (getting everything in place and understanding the different 'plans's I have...retirement, life insurance policies, invest, budget etc
Tithing has been my holy grail honestly. Once I became consistent with giving back to God, He also has been consistently giving back to me. I can attest to that one. The other four are still a work in progress lol
Hello there, one good money habit that I’ve learned over time is to first include God the giver into my spending. And not to make up my own rules for how and what I do or did with “my”money. Game changer! I’ve been down, but never out.
Your messages come right on time. If I don't do anything, I make sure I tithe. Sometimes it may not be the full 10% but I make sure I give what I have. God has blessed me in so may ways that it's only right to give back. Stay blessed 👼❤🙏
2021 January I asked God to protect me and my family from COVID-19 and from that month I made a promise to Him that i will tithe no matter what Ever since that day I saw money in a different way and my trust in Him grew even more Sometimes I don't know how I get through money challenges,it's all in His hands Now I'm no longer attached to money I love your videos all the way from 🇿🇦
The money habit that changed my life and is still currently changing my life for the better is the 10 (tithes) 20 (savings) 30 (wants) 50 (necessities) Rule

Cash Envelopes have saved me tremendously! Also , i set money aside each month for things like car ins, memberships, sports activities for my son etc. That way when renewals come up the money is there.
Budgeting, being obedient with money and not running up the credit card to the limit is habits I've learned. Budgeting helps with that impulse spending as you spoke on. Also, not running up the credit card because who going to have to pay it back? YOU lol Also getting residual on any extra amounts or savings you have is another good one.
Saved this to watch later a few days ago and after chatting about my finances with the Lord He led me to watch this 😊 God is always right on time! Thank you for your Holy Spirit filled wisdom sis, keep doing what you’re doing! 💜
Tithing! I've been consistent since I've started. In the moments where I was tested, I remained faithful and I'm so proud of myself and also thankful to God for speaking to me through the Holy Spirit to keep me strong and to open my heart to a more giving and gracious posture. Thank you for this video, it really brought me so much peace while I'm on this journey of becoming a new woman of faith and seeing the beginning of my territory expanding. Habit #5 is what I'm currently getting into so thank you for the confirmation! A part 2 to this video would greatly be appreciated if you felt moved to do so! Much love, be very blessed!
A good money habit for me has been detailed monthly budgeting. Bills are paid on time or far in advance to the due date, and I'm sure to pay bills before having "fun" with my money...also...save save save for rainy days.
I’m learning. I go to a financial class at our church on Wednesday. I was able to learn from your video and take notes 📝. I’m so thankful for you. You break things down to my level of understanding and it’s so much easier from me to understand when you speak. Keep shining girl you’re truly amazing
This is a just-in-time/heaven-sent message. I started working again in March after being laid off for a few months. I used cc and savings to keep things afloat. I was tempted to stop tithing to pay off my debt faster, but I'm going to trust God while trying to clean my finances up while being consistent.
I've learned and still growing in numbers 1 and 3. At one point, I was tithing Bi-weekly (pay days) and one day, I just stopped. I was so tight with money and that thought in my head would come to me like I need to keep ALL of my money just in case I need it. The Holy Spirit would remind me, 'try God, try Jesus, pay your tithes AND offerings'. I didn't do it. I had to repent and get back into doing it. I thank God for that, because when I did it faithfully, every payday, my income increased the very next time I got paid! Number 3, let's just say... God, please help me with that, because student loans are draining, even though I only have one student loan. One is enough, though. LOL!
Tithing is most definitely the one thing that has transformed my finances. I have stayed faithful in my tithing and God has blessed me so much! I still struggle with impulse spending😬but I am praying about this, so this message came right on time! 😅
I’m definitely beginning to pay attention to my finances. I’ve always had my head buried in the sand and as long as bills were paid I was ok. Since the beginning of this year, I’ve been learning a lot about money and I even started “tithing” but that was not a tithe. So I’ve prayed for willingness and started tithing. Thanks for sharing this information, there’s a lot of education about finances in the body of Christ
For those who need it, Dave Ramsey has a system that helps people be better stewards of their money. His show is available on TH-cam every weekday. If he's hosting, he routinely quotes the Bible and uses it to guide callers. Nice topic!
Literally having this discussion with my husband this morning about our finance issue and your video randomly came on next and it’s seriously so mind blowing how God just places things like this in our paths knowing when we need it the most lol thank you
Psalms 37 is golden for building kingdom finances!! Setting automatic transfers to my high interest savings account that way I’m not even tempted by the money 💚because it never hits my checking account
My dad has ALWAYS told me and instilled the importance of tithing in me. I told God that I want to be financially literate in order to grow and steward my finances well. From a 16 yo who’s most definitely still learning remember to definitely Tithe first, invest your money into something that will grow (like the stock market or roth ira accounts etc) and always have something in the bank for those rainy days or emergencies
Tithing and budgeting have been a big help.Espescially budgeting with the Holy Spirit so that I know what to prioritize and telling God about wants so that He takes care of that as well in His own way.😊
🍍Good Money habits (I'm not perfect all of them all of the time)-- 1)Tithing 2)refusing to transfer from savings(spending account will just have to look low till payday) 3) visiting account every day to calculate what bills have been taken out and which are sill pending.... 🤔
Hi Melody, My impulse spending I had to put on full check was buying clothes, shoes and mens colognes. I'm a man and what man doesn't want to look fine 24/7. But when the Lord was teaching me to handle my cash properly, the one thing I had to pull back on was the desire to buy clothes etc. It hasn't been hard like I'm a shopaholic, but when I am shopping the urge and temptations get up there. But I think, get myself in a better position then I can do what I enjoy.
Great video! My great money habit that helped me was to pay my bills before doing anything and giving every dollar a job and then lastly when the money for a specific category was gone that was it.
One thing that I will definitely be implementing in 2024 is breaking my big goals into yearly and quarterly objectives. That goes for debt, savings, education (and licensing as a social worker) and even personal growth and self care. Goals are beautiful and God-given. To me, planning is my act of intentionally to prove to God that I hear Him and am following his call for my life. But in that planning, there is still room for Him to move and do miracles.
Finances has always been a way that the enemy has used to sneak in anxiety in my life. Once I completely surrender that to God, not only did He give me peace, but soooo much wisdom! I use the cash enevelope and Dave Ramseys zero based budgeting methods for my family’s finances and it has been a huge blessing! We still have debt that we have to take care of, but God has given us so much grace! And your point about tithing is spot on! Once we began committing to tithing, we also saw a huge change! Thank you for this video and the content you create❤
I’ve been struggling financially and thanks God for sending this channel! As a single mom of a 3 months old, breaks my heart not knowing how to manage my money in the right way. Definitely I’m going to follow this steps and let God bless him x
talking about my money habits with my sister and dad has definately helped me made good decisions. As someone who is getting my first job I am excited to be responsible with money and honor God with every cent!
1 good money habit I have learned over the years is to save at least 10% of whatever income I receive. I transfer my tithe first and then my savings and then work with the balance. This meant that when I had a slow period with low or no income, I would have savings to fall back on until things picked up again....which it always does because God is faithful when we tithe.
Hey, Melody. Can you do a part 2 to this video and share how you and your husband budget, how you budgeted for building a home, purchasing property, etc? It is nice to learn how to steward, be fruitful, and multiply what the Lord has given us here on earth.
This video is literally for me so thank you so much Melody❤! I come from a family of bad money habits and at almost 40 I'm trying to change mine for the better so my daughter will be taken care of and I can provide more for her🙌🏾
The more I am able to grasp the amount of blessings financially God bestowed upon me, the more I realize God is pruning those blessings to stretch me to be a better steward and more generous
This was such a good reminder to get into certain habits. I’m Self-Employed and currently finances aren’t that great however I still give tithe and plan on putting my fixed expenses back on auto pay. I use to pay all my bills from one account and it was just so helpful for keep track but before I started I had to go through all my expenses and get things organized. I pray to get back to that one day to help get rid of my debts.
I'm not trying to be funny but like you just mentioned you are married. When you're married to a responsible person, things get done well and better and you two are able to save up. I have been single all these years in a single mother and have struggled almost all my life. I am totally in debt right now because I'm trying to stay afloat and trying to have faith in God at the same time it's very hard. I got a business but not doing well with it so it's not like I'm not trying. At my age I'm tired of going to get help when by now I should be making more money it should be out of debt and these are things I pray to God for. So it's much easier for married people
One habit I have to is keep a tracking system and write down all my spending, debt and bills. This helps me see where I have money to spend, save, give and invest. We are taught to give God our first and our best and do with everything else afterwards. 😊💕
Tithing is the invaluable one for me! Giving to GOD I haven't always done but I've learned it unlocks so much more than just financial flow. I now need to be more mindful of the rest of the financial management. Thanks for the tips.
Truly enjoyed this video. I talked about this same parable in one of my videos regarding Christian personal finance and my personal debt free journey. I'm happy to say I paid off all my consumer debt and nursing school debt last Nov and haven't looked back. Now that I'm free of that debt I have had so many other opportunities to GROW my money. Sis, I love this topic and would love to hear you talk about it more!
Good day! I appreciate this video as always…having a budget on Excel is a habit that has really helped me. I really needed a reminder about tithing AND impulse shopping. I’ve always done this faithfully, however because I’m about to start saving for a vehicle, the enemy wants to pinpoint tithing as something to decrease. The devil IS a LIAR and I will continue to tithe the 10 percent and even more when directed by the Lord. Praying for all of us to take heed. Blessings to you, X, and baby girl (who I miss seeing 🥰)!
I've recently started leaving things in my amazon cart for at least a couple of days before proceeding with buying them- it helps me think twice before purchasing things now and i find i often end up deleting the things from my cart to save money instead! Great tips!
I love the quality of your videos and I always feel so engaged with your content, Im so glad God lead me here to your channel, you inspire me to start my own faith based content 🥰 may God continue to bless you!
The last one is 🫣 for me as well. I recall God saying I won't give you a husband who is good with financial management while you're not. You're capable it's time to learn. I'm now taking steps to educate myself & implement better habits.
Money habit.. spend after saving.. decide on how much you want to save first then spend later to avoid regrets.. it works so well when you have a goal, or you're generally saving for an emergency fund etc. Easier said than done I have to admit!!
Love that I found your channel, paradise God🙏🏼 Tithing has been a game changer, giving God the first of what he provides for me is everything. Trusting him. I like you was kind of stingy with my money but thankfully that has changed and give more freely to others without expecting it back. God bless you❤
It’s the fact that I was about to do an impulse-buy purchase and one of your tips just talked on that.. so I just left my Amazon cart where it’s at. I’m realizing that being a good steward over my finances is more than tithing. It’s also what I do with the 90%…
Thank you for sharing. I have always tithe and have really seen God in my finances. I was at one time struggling, pay check to paycheck and thank God with knowledge and learning to just put everything in God’s hands was I able to be free from very debt and car loan. My next step is to trust that he can lead me to be on my own in an apartment with how everything is going in this housing market. 😢❤
A money habit that served me well was budgeting. Pre-pandemic that was not a thing for me and once I got laid off I needed a better way to handle the little income I had. Now I'm in better financial standing. My next habit is working on tithing, this is definitely a process I'm still learning.
Thank you for sharing this. I am in the transformation stage in this area. I am learning more on this and how to work together in these area. Like you I never wanted to know nor did I want that actual responsibility about where my money was going and how much I was actually spending, but now that has changed for the better. I would use shopping as retail therapy for my stress. Not any more. Now I am more intentional about what I buy and when I buy it.
Thank you so much for this! I have been tithing on and off for years but have finally made the decision to trust God in tithing no matter what like you stated! This was such a confirmation ❤
#1 tithing has been tough for me, but the Lord has been convicting me about it. I always have the thought that I could buy something I need with the 10 per cent and so I really need to change my perspective 😢
Hi Lydia, it has been the same for me and I feel bad as I have seen the faithfulness of God back when I was tithing and even now His grace has been covering me. I am definitely going back to tithing and God will help me with discipline. Strength to you Sister🙏
Thank you, Melody!! This video came at the perfect time..after vacation 😅🙏🏽 I would love to get back on track. One money habit that’s helped me is opening additional savings and naming them. It makes it easier to save for specific things.
Hi, my name is Alexus and I'm a RECOVERING impulsive spender. 😭 This video is right on time! God has been pushing me to learn more about financial literacy along with making smart investments. I'm going to implement these habits more in my daily life and be intentional with purchases *sigh* ... sometimes it's hard meng!
Hey, one of my good money habits is saving. I've natured this habit since I was a little girl and its been really beneficial to me in time's of need 😁😇. thank u for the video loved it.
Thanks so much for your content on Money habits❤ The Holy Spirit put it on my heart to learn about money this year and has been gracious in sending helpful content like yours my way. Some money habits I practice are: 1. Tithing (I’m also working on increasing it from 10% progressively) 2. Giving more to the church asides from my tithe 3. Allocating percentages to my monthly budget e.g. 50% for needs, 30% for wants 20% for savings/investments 4. Being diligent with budgeting
God bless you Melody. I believe in tithing and I’m so grateful to God for the Grace to consistently tithe. I think I can relate to the last thing you spoke about on participation in finances and understanding where your money goes, I tend to shy away from it too and just believe everything will be fine. I mean I know that they are going to be but now with this video I think I’ll try to come out of that and be a better steward in tracking my finances. So help me God 🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing. I’m like you use to be. Everything on autopay and I just didn’t want to look and really see how I was actually spending my money. Swiping and just spending down my accounts. No more! God has blessed my husband and I with great income we need to be better stewards. Especially me. God brought me to it. He has given grace to do it Amen
Wow, this was great content. Definitely a Rhema word for me girl. Thank you for letting the Lord use you. I would say somethings that are helping me are: tithing and giving an offering, cooking at home more, and having some bills come out in the beginning and other bills come out at the end of the month- although I am thinking of reconsidering this last one. 🤨☺🤔 I appreciate your candor and that you have a sweet spirit. Thank you again. Keep the videos coming.
I feel this message was for me!! I have been struggling and not being an active participant as you mentioned. This is the 3rd time this week I have been led to the book of Malachi. I look forward to making changes seeking God and not seeking the momentary pleasure of impulse buys. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this Melody. This video has definitely been eye-opening for me. I've recently learned how important budgeting is, and tricks on how to curb the urge to buy impulsively because I feel "I need" something. I'm learning more and more about money management. I admit it's not easy but I have faith that I will master it. God bless you♥!
Thanks for this Mel, been getting a nudge in my spirit to be a better steward over my finances although I would rather close my eyes from addressing my poor financial habits. This really gives me the foundation on how to manage finances after tithing…❤
For May, I’m going to work on creating a new habit of truly looking at my finances and the details. What am I doing with my money after the bills are paid? Is it conducive? Thanks Mel for this 🙏🏾
You're so right. Know about your finances. Something came up in our life and I had to deal with my finances and I didn't have a clue. So definitely get involved.
Really glad you shared on safety as well.A lot of financial services are operating online and safety is paramount something that's not spoken about much in church
You are blessing to me and to the Kingdom of God! This was real talk and I was encouraged to keep tithing and get more involved in the finances of our home. Thank you for your testimony. Be blessed!
Thank you for your transparency, specifically about being stingy, lol. I used to have that mindset, and you said outloud what I believe many of us have thought/think. An area I plan to get better in is to look at my finances the first/first week of every month to help me make adjustments and just have knowledge of where I am.

I literally just made my budget right before I saw this video and the first thing is always a tithe. God always makes up the difference
Calculate the things you need to buy before you go to the shops. That helps also so that you can save and even give back to God.

Wow I was just telling God I need to be a good steward and asking him to help me clear my debt but I’m horrible at managing money right now ❤
Tithing and budgeting have been a big help.Espescially budgeting with the Holy Spirit so that I know what to prioritize and telling God about wants so that He takes care of that as well in His own way.😊
🍍Good Money habits (I'm not perfect all of them all of the time)-- 1)Tithing 2)refusing to transfer from savings(spending account will just have to look low till payday) 3) visiting account every day to calculate what bills have been taken out and which are sill pending.... 🤔
Hi Melody,
My impulse spending I had to put on full check was buying clothes, shoes and mens colognes.
Definitely tithing I watched my mother and grandmother do it for years and doing it now I see why are so blessed
This is right on time! I take a financial literacy class tonight!
Definitely sitting down with my money and budgeting! I create my own budget planner to stay on top of things. Loved the video sis 🎉
Thanks for sharing your God given wisdom Melody. Mine is setting aside offering money to help family or friends in need aside from tithing
Great tips!
The Holy Spirit radiates out of you, it is so inspiring 🙏🕊️
Curviving impulse spending. WOW. I had to write this down. This is exactly what I am struggling with. Call it out is eye opening.
Tithing has been one of my blessings in finances.
I love the quality of your videos and I always feel so engaged with your content, Im so glad God lead me here to your channel, you inspire me to start my own faith based content 🥰 may God continue to bless you!
Awww sis, Tysm!!! We need more kingdom minded content creators out here, dooo it! 🤍🤍
Me too 😊
The last one is 🫣 for me as well.
I hit “subscribe” when you mentioned being “good stewards of our finances”. That’s been my prayer. 🥰
It’s also what I do with the 90%…
Tithing works! It was transformed things tremendously in my marriage. Thankyou for this video! 💛
My new favorite advice is: simply live off less than you make. It takes practice but it's well worth it.
It has been the same to me. This month i decided to give tithe and trust God.
May God help us to stay faithful with all we have🙏🏽❤️
Budgeting is another important factor.
This video is right on time!
Thank for this 🙌 🔥 💃, on time word.
I love these tips... being a steward of what God gives is an amazing tip for life!
Number 5 is soooo me and OMG the amount of tension with my husband because of that is crazyyyyyy
Tithing has definitely changed our lives! Love your content.
Yes Tithing and then paying myself and contributing to my savings
Thanks Mel for this 🙏🏾
Melody, you have the gift of teaching 😊
Great discussion. Different perspective about money. Thank you.
This was very helpful. God has been trying to get me and my husband to be better stewards of hour finances. Thank you
You're so right. Know about your finances. Something came up in our life and I had to deal with my finances and I didn't have a clue. So definitely get involved.
Thanks be to the Holy Spirit. I was literally praying about this this morning 😭 Really wanting to learn to be financially responsible in this season.
Paying myself (automatic savings) first has been really helpful in my financial independence journey.
Be blessed!
Gif bless your Chanel! I’m Dominican and the things that you talk about always are on time in my life ❤️ Gos is using you !
Thank you for your transparency, specifically about being stingy, lol. I used to have that mindset, and you said outloud what I believe many of us have thought/think. An area I plan to get better in is to look at my finances the first/first week of every month to help me make adjustments and just have knowledge of where I am.
