Our 3rd week back, we've gone with ACE it seems much more manageable in our busy lives, Abeka seemed really intense, but I think it's a great curriculum.
We have used both and some of my children thrive in Abeka and others thrive using ACE. The key for me is not locking into anything that is not working and giving myself permission to make changes no matter what part of the year it is.
Amen i completely agree, whatever works for your family, your child as individuals, etc. I've definitely found that as we've grown in our homeschool journey.
I have heard of ACE as well! One of the great things about homeschooling is that we can switch curriculums or not when we see the need to! That’s one of the many beauties and benefits of homeschooling. Not every curriculum will work for every child. Finding what helps them to thrive and learn is so important! Yes, we loved our Labor Day off as well! So relaxing even though we did some yard work! I love those days too!🙂

We did Abeka for 3 years.

We also use ACE and our children love it. Both 5th graders.
