Artie, I have a question for you if you see this... What happened with the life of Larry since the end of this documentary and his death? I'd love to know what happened to Larry in those last years of his, as I said in the other comment huge respect and admiration. edit: I'd also love to know a little more about how the recording sessions with Rosemary Clooney were? Were there any inconveniences with the two of them? I just read and hear more about WMF and get many more questions
I remember when Wildman used to hang out at the masque. We kinda took care of Larry and he was a part of the punk revolution. This makes me miss him after not seeing him for many years. I'm sad that he's gone.
A great friend of mine's father brought out the Vinyl of "An Evening with Wild Man Fischer" one night while we were all hanging out. I was about 14 at the time. I remember all of us sitting there, listening in awe, laughter and enjoying every moment of the insanity. I was a fan ever since. Been listening to The Wildman for about 25 years now. I love that Barnes and Barnes have his newer stuff on Spotify as well. I still get "Miss Jennifer Jones, Doot Doot Doot Doooooo" stuck in my head every now and then.
Definitely a Legend! I only wish he could of partaken in just a bit of the love and excitement we all share in his music. But as Barnes and Barnes said, Larry was his own worst enemy.
I've been a fan since I was 14-15 I think that's when I found out about him, I'm only 16 now, I play merry go round for friends and they seem to hate it but then I catch them singing it a day later, unbelievably catchy song, it'll be big one day
40:45 - this is how you can tell a person is an utter scumbag. I'm embarrassed to say I helped a street musician in New Orleans, sending him guitar strings and stuff, with the end result that I became his enemy. I was blamed for everything. I still am. "Bites the hand that feeds them" is the true mark of the scumbag.
Larry's ultimate gift was being able to melodiously sing his unfiltered thoughts via verbal interaction. Imagine oneself "singing" every conversation you have....!! It would be like endlessly living in a musical play or film. THAT was Larry's unintended GENIUS & CURSE.
I don't remember Larry ever pulling a gun on me or my partner Art. But if he had, I would have been out of there SO fast, heads would spin. And I'd never have been involved with Larry again. He hit me once, and I was done with him after that. I didn't need that energy in my adult life...
Wow, the 777Todesking777? How did I bump in here by coincidence? Your old channel didn't even have anything about Wild Man Fischer. I'm a huge fan, Ty E!
I just found out about this film and enjoyed watching. I had the original double album all those years back. I found it really interesting to hear much more of Larry's story than I knew, sad as that story is. .

When he passed away, it was a very sad day for me. All those years i dedicated to psychically torturing him, just,... Ended. POOF! Just like that.. I'm doing better now, (if you're wondering), especially after the field office in Langley assigned me a new target. Have you guessed him yet?
He had an ear for writing hooks. He could have been a successful writer if he wasn't so batshit. I understand why Zappa was interested in him and eventually had to cut ties. R.I.P.
I was proud to be part of this documentary. It was a long overdue tribute to the legendary Larry! I miss him. What a one of a kind talent...
It's great that you guys made music with him
You should be proud, you gave so much to music putting up with Larry's antincs and freakouts, I truly admire your passion and loyalty for art.

27:01 Ah! Ruth Buzzi! She was also on Sesame Street, Pound Puppies, and the 1980s series Berenstain Bears.
Crazy seeing Miguel Ferrer, of Robocop playing drums for Wildman.
Where???
@@farticusmaximusOG At the 1:10:54 mark you'll see him playing drums. He played drums and vocals for Seduction of Innocence.

jeje. Yeah..i'm a copycat. Im not the original or real 777 by any means. I'm glad you like Wild Man though. :-)
His name most definitely was Larry! R.I.P.🙏

I think Larry could have replaced David Crosby in Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
He even looks a little bit like him.

It's A Hard Business
Mental illness is a very very tragic thing
great film.
I probably have the most unseen audio and TONS of video of Larry than anyone else in the world. Sadly, it may never be seen...
Why not?
@rtbarnes4893 - Why not have it digitized and upload it to TH-cam? Many people would love to see it. Larry is a hero of mine and a legend!
Died March 4 2023, one of the last things Artie did was revisit this doc.

Remimds me of a homeless person-what a shame.
He WAS a homeless person. Who was very charismatic and seriously mentally ill.
If you say; "Eee ral zee meen ya"
Record it
Play it backwards
I learned this from the Dr. Demento album
