I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but, thank you Criterion for bringing the insane customization to these amazing vehicles, especially the headlight tints.

I think ghost help in that department since some of ghost workers help criterion with unbound.
and the grip handling, we did it boys, the game is no longer terrible
So criterion is coming back again?
For anyone interested in some first thoughts: I've just played the game and I was kinda skeptical about it at first. The game looks less gritty and dark than Heat or NfS2015 and even the world feels a bit cartoony at times during the day (little bit like Payback I guess). The handling is way more responsive and has improved over Heat, but don't expect it to be crazy good all of a sudden. The story actually seems nice, and the characters behave in a more humane way than previous games (less cringy). The police chases are also challenging this time around, even at the lower heat levels. They actually play an active role in this game and are impactful on your decision-making. Also, they make the time your spend driving from event to event more interesting. This has made my playthrough so far a lot more exciting than I initially expected. The night time/sunset is really where this game shines visually and during a cop chase in heavy rain it even game me MW05 vibes for a small little moment. Customization-wise only small changes have been made (light filter colors, bumper deletes, couple new body parts for certain cars), and the performance upgrade system seems to be similar to Heat's. The new NOS-system is great and rewards risky driving and both grip/drift cornering. At last, the visual cartoon fx cannot all be turned off as far as I've seen. They do however add a little bit more flavour to the races. Game runs at a solid 60fps on console without dips.
This is a good shout and also the impression I got from watching videos on it. Confirmation bias? Maybe. I just want a good NFS game

The cars feel heavier than the dinky cars in Heat imo

I have been the biggest critic of NFS games for years now. But let me tell you I am bloody loving this game. I am blown away with the art style they have done. It's hit and miss it's a hit for me. NFS is back baby
Yeah I agree but the one thing I hate is that the dialogue is really cringe and the story was mediocre but apart from that it’s been really fun
@@minidanielx5208 well I'm only at the end of the first week and I don't think it's that bad, it's only dialogue that you would see in family movies and stuff. Plus the story isn't bad so far I don't think. I kinda like the garage was stolen and your freind kinda betrays you and you have to get revenge yk

I'm old, nice to see the S14 in-game again! I owned one in Midnight Purple, bought 2nd hand from a guy in London ~2003, had Blitz Nur Spec, lowered, tinted windows and 18 inch rims.

I think the new menu's for customization look better then ghosts cause I can actually see what the rims look like and it's a lot more organized.
I think this is where Codemasters helped out as well since this is how the Dirt 5 UI is arranged.
I like that it shows the stock & potential power for engine swaps so if you have a power cap you can decide if a swap is the best choice or if it’s best to upgrade the stock engine

I will say certain areas of the map gave me underground vibes and most wanted vibes

looks great, but wish the te37s were in the game. would love to see interior customization like wheels, real life branded seats, handbrakes, rear mirror charns, etc.

Note : the standalone visual parts ( bumpers, sides, hoods ) appear to be just from the bodtkits... meaning the bodtkits themselves are just preset collection of standard matched parts, a true bodtkit option is like the kits from Midnight Club Los Angeles ( in mcla you can't mismatch bodykit parts because they are all a single mesh probably )
Oh ok so like nfs 2015 and heat, identical to the two previous titles but people act like this is some new groundbreaking feature?!?? What is going on
@@codymachado this feature of showing used parts while making unused parts invisible has been used since the beginning of times in videogames lol, so it's no new technique, i was just explaining to him how cheap and limited the customization options in these nfs games are.

Quick Tip: Don't be afraid to turn on traction control. It helps alot, and you can still using "brake snapping" to initiate a drift. It takes some finesse, but once you start getting used to it, the handling is actually really solid. I'm LOVING this game so far.

This is what we needed heat to be, unbound is fun as hell been playin since about 1:30am on series x no problems an no complaints…plus as a Chicago native I definitely get the home vibe just driving around the city I love it

Thanks for going through the whole process, I appreciate your efforts (though I wish you'd learn to use the wrap editor properly!). The engine swaps are less insane than Heat, but maybe they get more loony as you unlock higher level cars.
Got to say, though - the headlight tinting and actual tyres were talked about in the UTH 'Show Up And Show Off' article: "you can go deep and work with each part of the car - from new Rims and real-world Tires and the color of your Window Tint and Headlights (with no limitations)". Given you've made whole vids asking for this very thing in the past, I was surprised you glossed over it in the video you did on that article. Unless you're playing a long game with us...

The game looks pretty damn good! I am sad they still haven’t brought track width back tho. It’s fine when you do wide fenders because that fixes the fitment, but what if you want to stay stock body? Will you just have to live with bad fitment? I hope they can bring track width back in an update.
