For the first elderly couple featured at the start, highly plausible they divorce so that one or the other can purchase a property without a need to pay high property tax. After they get their property, they will re-marry again. This is quite a common loophole for a couple of years. Now the govt has clamped down so they can't use this "divorce" route anymore. This is a pretty insightful documentary. Thank you.

I tell you what the problem is. The ideal family that comes in the form of stories in books and movies where a man and a woman stay happy ever after together till death do them apart. In reality most stable traditional families stay together to protect their assets, some cheat on the side and some live unhappy lives with partners that changed for the worst. There might be a percentage of fairy tale families that happy ever after but to standardise society like that is an insult to their individuality. To stay together just to "save the kids" is idiotic. Kids have been raised by wolves in the forest let alone divorced couples. The second point I want to make is: Don't have kids! The world is overpopulated. These little creatures that come out of you have no other use in this world than to be used as an economical tool for the leaders of your country no-matter which country you are living in. Until human population does not break down borders and lives at one with each other and in symbiosis with mother nature any baby that comes out of your vagina is just a tax-payer and a polluter of the environment. Forget all that jazz about how wonderful it is to be a mother. You can give birth to things other than babies. You can create, you can enjoy this wonderful life you have been given. Your DNA has nothing to do with your lineage, DNA is just an instruction manual and everyone has a different instruction manual and builds on it. The village committee serves as an extended family in China when needed. Preserve the marriage for the child’s sake. Urban drift is socially and personally disruptive.
Broken homes are becoming common around the world. In the US women are the ones initiating divorce 80% of the time. Something is going on and we should address it. Children from broken homes do significantly worse in life

This is so Chinese mentally ... in western culture the couple therapist will focus on the wife and the husband difficulty, resent and will propose the couple a specifics , mutually agreed. After all each person is different and each couple has their own reality. In China, the therapist, simply highlighted the cultural definition of a good couple and remind the wife and the husband their role in the couple and the standards expectations. Wow...i think this couple will mutually agreed they will both make an effort in front of the therapist but the wife is definitely somewhere else. Whith the time she own independancy. Great post, what the marriage consultant 3:02 is saying is absolutely correct and if this is a Xi Jinping initiative, I say good on him. However 4:57 "women are taught to be good wives"!!! AND men, what a joke what the marriage therapist is saying. Men need to be part of the therapy like at 8:22 the therapist is good but needs lots of improvement. The Inside Outside Company the owner is not on point as he puts the onus on the mistress to change where's the husband in all that mess? And of course there would be this type of work, China's history [BC] is concubines and mistresses so of course there would be a company such as Inside Outside though I think their method is ridiculous. That woman at 30 minutes is really over the top. Like many Chinese women I've known, the ones I've known will create a bad situation, and blame her husband - even if he has some fault, she makes it out to be a victim and has no responsibility for any part in the situation. Not fair and honest, manipulative and selfish. I'm sure there must be some good China women, but I've not met one that doesn't do this.

I’m not saying her situation is “easy” but she says she wants to work a full time job, despite her sudden claim to being injured, she wants to return to work and continue to reject responsibility for her child. She says she’s the victim, but it’s the child who’s the victim of her abandonment.
