      I started learning calligraphy about 5 years ago I say learn because we can never know anything and never be perfect, all we ever do is practice. Writing with a fountain pen or a quill tip is very diffident for how we are used to writing. Barnes and Noble actually has a pretty good selection of not only pens, but quill tips, ink, paper, and an assortment of books for the beginner. Any fountain pen under $20 bucks is a good place to start. Most of them use an ink cartridge, so you want to make sure that you can easily find cartridges for the pen you purchase. There are pads of calligraphy paper. I find that any heavier stock paper works fine, basically anything over heavier than regular lined paper. Breaking pens is going to happen, breaking tips is going to happen, and making a huge mess is going to happen. There are lots of videos online to help the beginner. I hope this helps to get you started.

      women very often write on their tinder profile: if I don't answer, write me on insta. I thought "okay, maybe insta has a better messenger. Makes sense." Today I was liked by a younger girl who didn't have a so sophisticated approach. She wrote "Write on insta. *It's your fault if you don't follow on insta*." I instantly though "Ok. She is only interested in me as a follower NOT AS A PERSON." I now believe it is always the case with these insta girls.

    I've been reading this sort of comment a lot, 'raised by a woman'. If your mom was kind to you and did right by you the best she could, don't forget to value her, while getting the information that you need now. I am not a single mother myself so this isn't about me protecting my ego; it's about remembering to honour your mom if she was good to you the best she knew how. If she wasn't, then it's vital to move on and not allow yourself to become bitter; that's what forgiveness means, letting go, not allowing yourself to continue getting hurt, and letting go, so you can be the best you that you can be. Peace. :)

      It’s always easier for a person to say things like that when you haven’t gone through it............it’s not a one & done process. It takes time. Often a lifetime for some people who’ve been scarred long enough by bad parenting. I’m not saying my mom is the worst human being walking this planet, but - in her prime - she definitely wasn’t deserving of mother of the year either. You don’t automatically get honor in my eyes as a parent just because you decided to have children. My mother taught me good values, but she also taught me things that I despise about my bloodline that I’m fixing to change. One of those things is fixing the beta mentality that was groomed into me from a young age, not disliking myself for looking like a man she decided to lay with.
      Only now when she’s getting up there in age & needs me more than ever does she now want to make amends for all the wrongs she’s done to her children.
      I agree with you on one thing though, letting go is important. That’s the reason I continue to try & be a better person than I was yesterday.

      @MrChip1217 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sparkyjohan my point is that if your not a prize, no one will compete for you. Men should strive for greatness, to be a prize worth competing for. In this day and age, a woman who is competent in homemaking is a prize worth competing for, while a woman
      Who trades on her appearance will have diminishing returns. The same can be said for men but with different attributes and skills. Make yourself a prize worth competing for.

    Thank you George! I wished I had someone to talk to about this stuff. I'd never heard of a transitional guy but then I've never been intimate with a woman until this year at nearly 30. Put simply it's gutted me. I didn't know what heart ache was until now and we weren't even dating... just best friends with some benefits.
    1) She started getting REALLY into me and we messed around after she separated from husband.
    2) She began secretly seeing this other guy and lied about it to me.
    3) She swore he was a loser and told him off for good as she got back with her husband.
    4) Then she went BACK to loser after a permanent split from husband.
    5) A few months after this she suddenly came back around to my depressed ass and things got really hot for about a month. I thought I'd gone to heaven. Without notice she was off like a light switch back to loser guy and has been there since.
    Due to circumstances I knew that we could never officially be together but that doesn't mean my heart didn't want it anyway. But to care for somebody that you've grown close to, find out that it's mutual, and then get this person ripped away twice in the same manner is almost too much.
    Insanity, depression, and dark thoughts don't even cover how I've been this year. Literally went from the best to the worst time of my life...twice.

    I'm in an exhausting situation right now with a woman who is living with me (and on the verge of leaving), who I've known for over 45 years (since she was 16, she's now 63). 15 years ago we were married for two years before she left me, that's a story for another time. 7-8 years ago she became disabled and called me to ask, (playing the sympathy card), if I could give her a place to live without her having to pay too much because she was on disability and couldn't support herself any longer. My first, and biggest mistake was falling for the "sympathy card" that she played and saying yes. As George has said in the past, "Never invite misery into your life". Fast forward to present, I'm 6 months away from retiring from my current career and moving down south, she is NOT coming with me, she will return to the Philadelphia area to be around her children (who she is also somewhat estranged from) and grandchildren. I'm sending her your way George, steer clear, lol. I have finally woken up and realized that she is not interested in an Alpha male, she wants a pliable/Beta male if any male at all. She has continually made me feel as if there was something wrong with me and even suggested I seek out some sort of anger management advice because of the way I act when we get into an argument. No, I do not and have never been physical with her, but yes, I have been very loud with her during some of our arguments or disagreements. I don't know, something inside of me simply refuses to be apologetic for being and acting like an alpha male. I guess it's just in my DNA. Needless to say these last six months before it's all said and done are going to be very stressful. All of her "things" are still here even though she packed a bag and left 3-4 nights ago during an argument. We just started texting earlier tonight trying to get each others points across to each other to no avail. I know this situation needs to calm down some if for no other reason than she still needs to get her things out of the house and I still need to live here until the spring. It's just fucking exhausting. Sorry for the rant.

    • @beddog57
      @beddog57 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @steven roscoe Your absolutely right, they were bad decisions on my part based on emotions rather than logic. Things have calmed down now between the two of us and she has been gone for two months. I think what pissed me off was how she started acting after she moved in with me, she started acting as though we were still married, again, my fault for letting her continue to think and act that way. The entire decision to allow her to move in with me in the first place was a bad one, I guess I just didn't want to feel like a shit if I had said "no, sorry, I can't help you" when she first asked, lesson learned.

    • @beddog57
      @beddog57 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @steven roscoe Good idea, although at 65 years old I never thought I would be in a situation like this again, plus, in my situation, I work 12 hour nights and sleep days and live in a state that I was not born in, I don't have any "friends" to speak of, I've had to pretty much turn myself into a hermit to survive working these 12 hour night shifts. I just can't wait to retire in 6 months and move, so I can work on getting a "real" life back. Thanks for your advice.

      Alpha Approach ~ call her up and let her know she can pick up her stuff tonight but in the morning you will be dropping it off at Salvation Army/ thrift store.
      You are not an independent storage unit and if it was the other way around the woman would sell what she could and trash the rest

    I've been watching your carnivore videos. Love them! This one is interesting; didn't know you were doing videos about dating. I stopped on-line dating. The men I met were always trying to compare me to what their idea of what a woman should be. Everyone has their preferences, which is fine...but some would comment on my un-painted nails and suggest I should paint them. Some would talk about breast implants on our date. I mean, really??? My breasts are nice. I think the internet and media has been contributory to unrealistic expectations about what is "normal" in a relationship and what is normal in sex. I am a very young looking 56-year old female who is single and fit, now that I went keto, I look really good. I find most men my age are looking for women 20 years younger. So women in my age range are left behind. It is sad and I have much love to offer, but find very shallow mentality when it comes to men. Most of the women I know who are married, their husbands expect the house to be cleaned, the food to be made, and income from her as well as sex as often as they like. After seeing what they go through (and I was married for 22 years) I am happy that I am independent and do not have someone demanding things from me and pressuring me to "take care of all their needs" when my needs are ignored. I think it a cultural thing and an age thing. Maybe the younger men have less expectations for their women. I would love to have a wonderful man in my life, who is a conscious caring loving individual, who thinks about his woman too, not just about himself. Because I am a giver, and love to show my man that I care, I hope that I can find a man some day, who can reciprocate; that would be a great match :-)

      If it's any consolation some of those men who are seeking a woman 20 years younger will realize in by their 60's, when some begin losing their hard-ons, that they cannot completely satisfy and keep up with a woman 20 years younger as they age. (Yes, there is oral, etc. BUT...let's be honest...) Now not every man has an erectile issue, but pure medical statistics show that about 1 in 2 do end up with some issues (due to their crappy diet and ensuing health problems) and a woman 20 years younger may not be as understanding when she could easily go bang some 30/40's year old man who can go 3 times in one night and has the stamina to keep up if/when wanted. I'm 44 and seeking a life companion as well, but I still need someone who can be an energetic match sexually and a 60-year old may not be able to, nor would I be interested in anyone over 55 max. tbh. Anyway, glad I found this channel, as the Sultan seems quite fair in many of his assessments of both sexes.

    When I was younger my friend had a gf and he treated her like shit in my opinion. She was a friend of mine, so I told him he should treat her better as a suggestion. He agreed and within a few months, she turned it around and treated him like her bitch. The problem was is he was one way. Then he switched his behaviors and it made him look vulnerable and weak. I have no doubt if he hadnt followed my advice she would still be with him. I was taught to treat women right. I don't know what right is anymore. I know that women don't want a pet. They want to be the pet

    I know you stay away from carbs. But a daily dose of natural raw local honey will prevent seasonal allergies. Just a small dose with coffee or green tea. I put it in my oatmeal each day. No allergies now for 3 years.

    12:20 ( video time )Thank you so much for saying it twice.I'm a newer viewer and just went through this with a woman and we were together for 8 months and Never saw it coming,not for one second. Something didn't feel right and I even asked her if "we were good"...she said "yes"...We had both agreed to hide our dating profiles but I had to check and there she was with a private picture she sent. I wasn't given a reason just that she "should have done things different" and the "apology" she gave me sounded like a forum letter she would send clients after their insurance claim wasn't approved..she is in that profession. I was hurt,then mad and then hurt again because I missed her even though she messed around on me and then pissed off with myself for feeling that way.She said she had only messaged men but no sex..I know B/S....Thanks George for all your help and getting me to pull my head out of my butt on this one,I mean it...Will have to come down there to PA one day for a cut and beard care. All the best and hope you have a good day tomorrow...Ken London Ontario ( hope you didn't spit out any coffee while laughing at this one) ;)

    I NEVER UNDERSTOOD THE AMERICAN CONCEPT OF DATING ( AS FAR AS I UNDERSTOOD IT), I.E. HOOKING UP WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE AND POSSIBLY ENDING UP WITH SOMEONE YOU LIKE THE MOST OUT OF THE BUNCH...HERE IN GERMANY IT IS RATHER THAT YOU MEET SOMEONE YOU LIKE, GO OUT WITH THEM, AND IF THE CHEMISTRY IS RIGHT, START A RELATIONSHIP...SOMETIMES THEY ARE SHORT, SOMETIMES THEY END UP IN MARRIAGE, BUT THE IDEA OF HAVING MULTIPLE SEXUAL ENCOUNTERS, MORE OR LESS, PARALLEL WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE BEFORE YOU DECIDE WHO IS BEST FOR YOU, SEEMS TO BE A RECIPE FOR DESASTER...IF WOMAN WOULD TELL ME, THAT SHE HOOKED UP WITH OTHER DUDES, IN THE SAME TIME FRAME THAT SHE WAS WITH ME ( BUT IN THE END SHE LIKED ME BEST), SHE SURELY COULD KEEP ON FUCKING THEM DUDES, NOT ME..BUT THEN AGAIN, I AM NOT AMERICAN!
