  • Matthew Rice, is the superb illustrator whose works of art embellish many of Emma Bridgewater’s mugs and artefacts. Bunny chats to him in his garden which is the source of his inspiration for much of his artwork. Matthew, a keen gardener, got the gardening bug before he was even a teenager and has been developing his garden, which is on the site of an old castle complete with the extended original gatehouse, since 2013. Matthew grows much of his own veg, lots of flowers and also runs gardening and illustration courses from his home, Ham Court. Hear him chat to Bunny on her podcast, Bunny in the Garden with….

How interesting to hear a bit of the history of the land & visually see the present day gardens created & molt reborn by Mr. Rice. What a beautiful expanse of land, nice workshop, & lovely pottery to gaze upon. I enjoy your interviewing style too! Also, I loved your interview with Carson the Butler. As a result of yours & his description of his gardens by Podcast, it made me long to visualize his gardens as well! Perhaps you could do a TH-cam of his garden sometime? Thanks for taking us along on your gardening adventures!

Bunny, love your videos. I run to watch everyone that you post and find them so interesting, interesting, informative, and fun. In a spirit of constructive commentary, I do wish you had better audio. In this interview I can hear Mr. Rice perfectly, but not you. That goes for many others as well. Just want to hear your valuable input clearly.

Don’t quite get this, only a few seem to have problems. Really sorry you are, it is a problem on very windy days but we do use wind shields. Will try and find out problem 🐇
