In all due respect, a delinquent little hanukah song
I wrote this years ago when I lived in New Orleans, for our Hanukkah party. It’s definitely got that New Orleans spirit.
As I send this out into the chaos of the universe, I worry a little about my orthodox Jewish grandparents (or other mishpukhe) gasping in disapproval from the Beyond, but hopefully it turns out that humor and lighthearted vulgarity are actually super approved of by Divinity. I hope to find out some day!

Sheyn meydl: pretty girl
Dreidel: spinning top for a Hanukkah game

Yarmulke: religious cap worn by Jews
Nes gadol haya sham: (Hebrew) “a great miracle happened there”, written on menorahs, about the oil lamp Hanukkah miracle

Tzitzis: prayer shawls with strings
Mishpukhe: family/extended family
Tokhes: butt
Meshugas: craziness
