Thanks so much for this. I bought the ALIENS queen and to my regret, the spines were death and one of the arms kept on popping off the socket. I was legitimately gonna order another ALIENS queen (with the hope that I was gonna get a better one by chance) until you confirmed that the AVP is much more stable. I am definitely gonna get that one next.
@@TheReviewSpot welcome man. Also some advice for your ALIENS queen, you could convert it from an action figure to a semi posable statue with super glue 😜. I super glued the spines on its back and sacrificed the articulation. The only catch is, putting it back in the box is a bit tricky as the spines will now bend. I don't know if HIYA was just too focused on replicating the NECA queen or if it was just pure negligence on their part for the spines. Terrible design choice.
As usual, a top notch review from one of my favorite figure reviewer "voices". I ordered both queens in this video and, unfortunately, the AvP one arrived with half of her face literally melted. More disappointing is that the melted parts were painted over, so the workers in the factory and QC knew what was going on, but didn't give a fudge - neither does Hiya customer service, whom I contacted. Oh well... luckily I got a refund from the seller. As for the older queen, I don't get why so many complain about the spikes. I used a hair dryer on high power to heat each side for about 10 seconds and popped the spikes in easier than putting flowers in a vase. Barely spent more than 5 minutes in total (including taking the dryer from and back to the bathroom :)
It was also a decision they made while making AVP to have the queen bigger so it’s also for aesthetics. But your explanation is definitely in-universe reason
I received mine last week and think she looks amazing. I have one big problem though with mine. The crest/crown on mine is uneven. It seems to sit more to one side so that when you look at her head on her head seems to be set more on the left side than the right and isn't centered. I'm not sure if it is just off the track that it sits on to slide forward and back, or if it is a bad molded piece.
I got mine today, and I’ve noticed the crest is loose. It flops side to side if you tilt the figure. I tried to see if the peg that’s on the track had broken but it doesn’t seem to be damaged, think this is likely a QC problem. The figures are such small scale and they’re so cheap I am noticing more quality control issues with them than say Bandai or Figma
I was planning on getting the original Aliens queen, but after watching your review, I've decided to hold for the AvP queen, not just for the improvements, but honestly it looks better. Thanks Spot.
@TheReviewSpot Anytime! I currently have the AVP Elder and battle damage Scar on pre-order. So, either this Alien Queen or the battle damage one? Will go great as a diorama next to the AVP Scar Predator statue I'm getting from Prime 1 Studios 👍🏾
Looks pretty amazing other than it not standing on it's own well or it may cause issues with the stress on the tail if off stand too long. I got my first hiya predator and he is epic for his size but pretty delicate and no ankle rock

Does this possibly mean that we could be getting an AVP Queen from NECA as well? Since the HIYA Aliens Queen came out about the same time as NECA released the Aliens Queen.
Hey bud find out if the clear plastic is ABS plastic because if it is you can use acetone to glue it back together and find a clear Lego piece, melt it down with acetone and then paint on some more plastic around the crack. The acetone eventually evaporates and the plastic goes hard again.

I think the size difference is maturity, the queen from aliens was pretty young and in avp the queen was ancient 🤷♂️

It’s possibly a defect. Try to exchange it for a different one.

I personally like the look of the high heels ridiculous...perhaps but a fun design non the less

I made a flight stand from metal wire. I don’t think the regular flight stand would hold him up with those wings.
