The songwriter and performer Criag Johnson passed about December 5th, 2006 at the age of 56. Perhaps best known as the fiddler for the Double Decker String Band, his contributions to folk music were extensive. Andrew showed me this song, as performed by Bruce Molesky, and I sang it every night for a month straight. At home and in the streets, late night, waking up neighbourhoods. It continues to be a favourite of mine, and we sing this song with our highest respect and appreciation. Thank you Craig and Bruce.
