  • When it comes to finding the right power system for your crawler and other special RC applications, the choice on who to turn to is clear, Holmes Hobbies. HH isn't about just cranking out generic motors to somewhat fit an application. Each motor is designed for a specific use so you get the performance you want. Even with a large selection of motors dedicated to certain uses, there are still times where an enthusiast wants something even more specific, a motor taylored to their specific needs. Again, John Holmes is the man to turn to and the Custom Pro Brushed Rock Crawler motor option is probably what you are looking for. What makes this motor different from the rest? John will go over this motors features in full detail right here!

Its as simple as smaller comms give a higher rpm and commutation duration, across the board we use small comm on practically everything. Advances in controller tech have made large comms kinda useless for tuning when it comes to crawlers. You would be surprised at how few people care about specs while the majority want me to build the motor that works without burying them in the minutiae. The options are there, but many options are practically not even worth mentioning outside of this vid. Its the reason I don't offer a "blank slate" custom motor product. Sure we could offer a motor with 10,000 ways to build, but I already offer the optimized builds in regular products so the true custom build is very very rare. And those customers already know exactly what they want.

There is a huge difference between the pro motors and the custom pro try the 5 slot 13t skewed it’s my go to motor for most 7/8 lb rigs you can gear them up well but low gearing 4s has proved a great package for me great products thanks John....

When my 10 year nightmare is finally over next year - I'm going to have a LOT of Money to burn!! 😁😁
I like the Custom idea. I'd like to get at least one for my best Rig....
And I go On-Road M Chassis Car Racing. They've got a 21 turn limit - but I believe you could make me a Custom 21T Motor that would obliterate the Competition!!! I'll be talking to you later. 😉

Do you have an email address I can use to ask for recommendations to upgrade specific builds. I really like the Torquemaster Expert 540 35T and the Crawlmaster Sport 550 12 T but am looking to make some of my other builds more capable. Greetings from Montana.

I just put a hobbywing 1080 in my trx4 but im not getting as slow of a start up as id like. I mean itll start up slow and kinda smooth but the throttle is so sensitive its really hard to achieve. Ive turned my punch down to 5 and still thr throttle is too senstive and not as smooth at low start up as id like. If you have a min to respond what do you recommend. Different settings or different motor other than the 21 turn traxxas i have now??

Need some advice, as I'm searching for a future HH motor upgrade. Currently stock gearing on a Wraith Spawn (2 months old), a Firma 40A ESC/Receiver, 3s lipo and like the idea of the CM Sport 550/13T. Would I need a bigger ESC? I still don't know how to determine the correct electronics. Thank you...

Most expensive motor ever. Silver is a better conductor. But it's not that much better than copper as to give it a huge edge. Just a few % more torque if the magnetic circuit isn't pushed into saturation already by the copper at stall.
