    With how everything has shaken up in J1, I wouldn't be surprised if someone random got in the mix like Gamba Osaka with Oita's old coach. I believe that Urawa Reds will make it an entertaining battle this season. I would LOVE to see JEF United FINALLY get their act together and make a run for J1 this season. Bias note: I hope Omiya at least try to get into that top six somehow. In J3 I hope now is the season Nagano Parciero break that curse but I'm not holding my breath over it. Also in the JFL with King Kazu at Suzuka Point Getters, I might watch some of those games just to see what happens. Will you go over these predictions halfway through the season to see if you are close so far? Great vid as usual👍

    • @LostinFootballJapan
      @LostinFootballJapan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's a good shout about a random team breaking into the mix. Gamba is a good pick. They got really badly affected by a COVID outbreak last season and had to catch up on a lot of games, so should be much better this year. I'd also love to see Omiya break back into the top six! But, I'm fearing another tough season for them... And, yeah, I'm really interested to see how King Kazu gets on with Suzuka this season, too! They've been streaming JFL games live on TH-cam over the last few years, so hopefully they do that again this year. I was planning to go back to my predictions at the end of the season, but that's a good idea about checking in at the halfway point, too. Considering how random the J.League is, I expect my predictions to be way off!

    With fans and a stadium like that, Nagano deserves to get promoted. As for J2, if Nagasaki's Cristiano clicks with Edigar I can't see what would stop them from going up. Got a soft spot for Omiya so I hope their season will not be as tough as I expect it to be.
    Keep up the good work mate, love the channel.

    • @LostinFootballJapan

      Yes, Nagano U Stadium is one of the best in the country. I really hope they can get promoted soon. Good point about Cristiano and Edigar together at Nagasaki. That could be a devastating combo in J2. And, yep, I'm a little worried about Omiya this season, too! Thanks for the kind words about the channel!

    This is my prediction for J2 league please forgive me my English and this is just my opinion thank you.( i don't know much about J3 so i just predict J1 and J2)
    J2: (Top 6) 1. Tokushima Vortis 2. V-Varen Nagasaki 3.Vegalta Sendai 4.Fagiano Okayama
    5. Tokyo Verdy 6. Ventforet Kofu
    (Bottom 2) 21. Zweigen Kanazawa 22. Grulla Morioka
    Dark horse : Fagiano Okayama( 10th place - 4th place)
    Biggest letdown : Yokohama fc ( 20th place (J1) - 9th place)
    Tokushima Vortis : Tokushima last season fighting till the end of the round.it shows how tough they can be. With Poyatos first full season in Japan. He have some really decent experiences with big clubs in Europe like Real Madrid U-19 , Panathinaikos , Tel Aviv etc. I’m sure he will bring something special to Tokushima this season in J2 league. I think at the end of day they will secure automatic promotion.
    V-Varen Nagasaki : Nagasaki this season have put some heavyweight signings .I think Cristiano signing is a major reason they will gain a automatic promotion. He still have pretty decent form. Despite the age I think he will be too much in J2. Nagasaki already have pretty decent squad to challenge title. With the addition of Cristiano I’m sure they will secure a automatic position.
    Vegalta Sendai : For the first time in decade Sendai has relegated. I think this is a good chance to show what Harasaki can do to this team. I think with their ton of experiences in top flight leagues. It will help them secure at least in playoff position.
    Fagiano Okayama : this is a very bold prediction. This is my dark horse team this season. They already have decent defense with addition of Buijs I think they will do really good job this season. I just really hope Duke can step up this season to leading Fagiano to playoff spot. I wouldn’t surprise if they got promote.
    Tokyo Verdy: this is a little bit bias for me. but I do think they have chance to go up this season . attacking not a problem for them score 62 goals just prove they got really good quality in attacking. I really hope they can improve they defense . u cannot have 60+ conceded goals to expect go up. addition of Suzuki cup young player of the tournament Arhan in defense . I’m slightly confident they can do well this season.
    Ventforet Kofu: Kofu keep knocking playoff spot these couple of seasons. I expect them keep doing what they do I’m sure we will see them in playoff spot this season.
    Zweigen Kanazawa : Zweigen is really struggling these past seasons. Especially with their defense. Although their keep really good form in the last 10 games. I just don’t think they will do same this season. I just hope they prove me wrong.
    Grulla Morioka: I’m gonna be honest. I don’t really know much about them. But judging from lost in football Japan reviews I think I’m gonna stick the prediction like him.
    Yokohama fc: Yokohama really struggle at top flight for quiet some times. With their relegation fans expect them to go back immediately to back in top flight. But I just don’t think they can do that. Although they keep signing bunch of players and addition former Hokkaido manager Yomoda. I just don’t think their squad good enough to go up. maybe at some point in the season they will keep knocking the top 6. But at the end I think they will fall short.

      Thank you for your J2 prediction! Your pick for Fagiano Okayama to be in the playoffs is very interesting. I agree that Buijs and Duke are excellent J2 players, so I think that's a really good prediction. I also can't wait to see how Pratama Arhan gets on at Tokyo Verdy. He looks like a very exciting player. Thanks for your predictions 👍

    To be fair I happened to be following Yamaga FC closely, by chance, precisely the year they won their ticket to J1. Their team was stacked with on loan talent way beyond their true standards. Daizen Maeda was there!
    Once they got into J1, most of the talent went back to their real clubs or got poached away. Mid/low J2 is their true ceiling, as great as the fanbase is.

    • @LostinFootballJapan
      @LostinFootballJapan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah, yes, I remember when they had Daizen Maeda! Good point about Matsumoto most likely only being a mid-table J2 team. But having said that, according to El Golazo, their wage budget is huge! They had the fifth highest budget in J2 last season. Still, at least we get a Nagano derby this season!

    Cool predictions, as I expected.
    In my own, I instead place S-Pulse bottom of the league. Which as brave as it is, I can see it happening.
    I also predict that Bellmare will somehow survive the drop, even avoiding relegation play-off (which I predict, that would be Sanga)
    As for my top 4, we happen to share 3 of 4 predictions. But I dare to say that Antlers will be in the 3rd, and somehow, Marinos in 4th with winning this season's Emperor's Cup.
    As for J2, I pick Yokohama FC and Ventforet Kofu to go up.
    J3... well, this is subjective. But I would boldly say... Sagamihara and Kagoshima United.
    Cheers for the predictions. I'll be waiting for your next video!

    • @LostinFootballJapan
      @LostinFootballJapan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! And thank you for your predictions, too! I think that's a good call about S-Pulse. They've been struggling for a few years now. And Shonan have good experience in surviving. The Sanga squad isn't so strong, so they could definitely be down there this season.
      Marinos are a strong bet for the top four, too. And I'm sure their fans would love to finally win the Emperor's Cup again!
      Strong picks for J2 and J3 as well. Let's see what happens this season!

    This is my prediction for J league please forgive me my English and this is just my opinion thank you.
    J1: (Top 4) 1. Vissel Kobe 2. Kawasaki Frontale 3. Urawa Reds 4. Nagoya Grampus
    (The top 3 this season i believe gonna be extremely close)
    (Bottom 3) 16. Shonan Bellmare 17. Shimizu S- pulse18. Kyoto Sanga
    Dark horse : Gamba Osaka ( 13th place - 7th place)
    Biggest letdown : Sagan Tosu ( 7th place - 15th place)
    Vissel Kobe : they attacking choices are mouth watering. you got prolific experience striker like Muto and Osako, i expect each of them at least 10 goals this season. Lincoln is a very talented prospect. i think he will surprise everyone this season. i hope Bojan and Iniesta Chemistry do well this season. They add Makino in defence which is key sigining for them. I just hope miura can utilize these arsenals.
    Kawasaki Frontale : Although Frontale Keep Proving even they lost the talent they still can winning title. but some reason i just think this season they gonna fall short. Chanatip is a big sigining this winter. I think he will have a little bit struggle this early part of season. because i think he need take time to adjust new system. I don't have any doubt for Damiao his gonna keep scoring again and again. I just think Frontale maybe have a little bit struggle first 12 round of season which is huge cost for they title challenge.
    Urawa Reds : like i said before this top 3 will be extremely close this season. Urawa they shown really great promise at super cup. but somehow the lost of locker room leader Makino somehow will have a big affect for players and I just really hope they can improve they away records. Last season they got 8 losses in away which for me if you gonna challenge title you definitely need a change. I expect Junker to challenge the golden boot. But again I would not surprise if they win title this year.
    Nagoya Grampus : I know this is a bold one. Just somehow I think they’re defense gonna help them to squeeze through the top 4. I think Swierczok gonna win this season golden boot . he is really consistent prolific scorer and he usually thrive at second season in new clubs. With they’re solid defense and Swierczok in front they will squeeze into top 4 with tough way. Maybe u will see bunch of 2:1 1:0 type of games. But ultimately I think they will finish top 4.
    Shonan Bellmare: Shonan these couple of season have really struggling. Attacking always have a problem for them . this season transfer they didn’t improve much they attacking position. Although they defense still top notch, but this season it sure will be a very tough for them. But I think somehow they defense will help them to secure safe place to stay in J1.
    Shimizu S- Pulse: is sad watching Shimizu struggle these couple of seasons. I really this season they’re back defense again gonna cause the huge problem as they proof again and again how easily they can blew up the lead. Although they have plenty choices on attacking position ,But They’re attacking rely too much on Santana, Carlinhos really need to step up if they gonna survive this season.
    Kyoto Sanga: Lots of fan really exciting for Kyoto this season either from stadium or the city wise. But I just cannot see 38 years old Utaka can really put lots of damage in J1. Yes he is top notch striker in J2 but the age factor and I’m pretty sure every J1 league teams defender will keep an eye for him. Kyoto really doesn’t have much attacking options. If Utaka struggle this season I’m pretty sure is not a bright season for them. Although they have best defense in J2 I just don’t think they can handle the J1 levels strikers.
    Gamba Osaka :this season Gamba appoint Katanosaka which my opinion a fantastic coach. I think this season Katanosaka will making Gamba huge improve. His years in Oita really have been brilliant. Beside last season he took Oita into knocking around top 10. Which is really impressive.Last season despite the struggle he even took them to Emperor cup final. I think this season he will flourish in Gamba take them where they suppose to belong.
    Sagan Tosu : Sagan coach Kim Myung-hwi left the club in controversy way. He took them 7th place last season which is really unexpected. But since he left they appoint Kawai . Kawai doesn’t have any J1 experiences and in J2 he was coaching Ehime for 3 season and they’re struggling when he was coached. I just hope he can surprise me prove me wrong. I also think he will be sacked at some point in this season. Otherwise if Sagan relegated I wouldn’t surprise.

      Thank you for your detailed predictions! That's fantastic! You've made some really good points. I'm really interested in your pick for Gamba to be the dark horse and for Sagan Tosu to be the biggest disappointment. I agree about Katanosaka being an excellent appointment for Gamba. I'm sure he'll do really well there. And, yes, Tosu are in a much more difficult situation this season with a lot of players leaving and a new coach with no J1 experience. I think it's going to be fascinating to see what happens to those two teams in particular. Thanks again for your awesome predictions!
