  • The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is expected to grow by 2.7% in 2024, which is a modest increase from 1.9% in 2023 and a return to the low growth that prevailed in the decade before the pandemic. This outlook is marked by uncertainty, amid rising debt levels and the most recent conflict in the region.  What impact has the conflict had on economies in the region? Why are debt-to-GDP ratios rising in the region? And what can countries in MENA do to mitigate these challenges? For answers to these questions, join us for a live discussion with Ousmane Dione, the World Bank’s Vice President for the MENA region, Roberta Gatti, the World Bank’s Chief Economist for the MENA region, and expert panelists.
