@@TheRealSala It's insanely overwhelming, it took me years to get a handle on it. It's just nice to have some places you know are good or safe to aim towards, and you can explore whatever comes in between!
Great videos once again Martina! Oooooooooooooh, a digital Travel Guide!!! count me in !!! will use that for SURE on my next trip !! thanks for all the info you put out in your videos, always so inspiring!
I love when you showcase small businesses, chains aren’t bad but seeing unique stores that the owners are clearly passionate about is so cool, it’s such a different vibe
Your content is a cut above the rest when it comes to Japan. Funny vibe, not too silly, GREAT tips, unique, relaxed, awesome editing and soundtrack. I just love your videos!
Long time fan here! (Honestly don’t know how many years) seeing you reconnect with old friends *Dan❤* makes my heart so happy. Fully respecting y’all’s personal decisions to show him on screen how much or little you want but just wanted to say it makes me happy to know that you’re surrounded by loved ones!! Thank you for your cozy travel and food vlogs that consistently suppress my unrelenting irrational day to day anxiety!!
I lost touch with the EYK channel during college, but then I heard Martina made her own channel! I'm so glad to see/hear that you're still going strong Martina, I've always loved the way you did the travel vlogs :)
Martinas videos are a showcase of strength and perseverance to me. I went through a horrifying breakup this year and seeing her move past hers, live on, shine as bright as she does, empowers me deeply! Thank you for these videos, you're an angel!
Awesome to see an OG youtuber in a modern light, still thriving in 2022- almost 2023. The quality is amazing Martina! - returning sub from like... eons ago xD
I wanted to come to your space after watching your video on the old channel and just say how proud I am of you. The past few years have been hard for all of us, but your personal journey even more so. And your consideration for your community and constant effort to spread positive energy, even when being directly attacked. You are amazing. And on a much less drama filled note, I have loved the vibes on King Kogi from day one. The music, the atmosphere, the humor all flows so well together. It's a ton of fun and I always look forward to the next post.
It honestly makes me so happy when you and Dan make another video. I have always adored the work Dan does! It’s clear that he and Martina have amazing creative synergy. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE and binge watch your solo content girl, but when you and Dan make a video together… MAGIC! This was a treat -thank you! 💖
Hey Martina I just wanted to say I am SO proud of you. Breakups are hard and as a product of divorce I know how hard that was for you, I know the reality of how often people can just fold from the pressure and sort of stick to what is easy and comfortable. I'm simply amazed how you were able to pick yourself back up and continue to pursue your passions. It really is inspiring. As the great Cher once sang "Do you believe in life after love?" I love all the new videos, hopefully one day I'll finally get to go to Japan and try out some of your recommendations. Can't wait for the next video
YOU AND DAN ARE BACK TOGETHER!!! This makes me so happy and I'm loving this new travel format. Can't wait to see what other video guides you put together :)
Genuinely think you have hit a new high with your content these days. Can't image how tough it's all been, but really - clearly this was what it was all leading too. Awesome stuff kogi and crew! ❤️
I’m so obsessed with your hair right now Martina!! I don’t know how you manage to keep it looking so soft and healthy. I’m sure you already know this, but I’m totally getting Sophie from Howl’s moving castle vibes 😂 Thank you for these videos!! I am so happy to see you living your best life and including us in your good times. I hope you are in good health and wishing you all the luck and prosperity in the new year!! We love you Martina! The world is a better place with you in it 🥰
I feel bad leaving eatyourkimchi, i accept i'm attached to the channel and not being comfortable unsubscribing there, but i'm happy to continue seeing Martina and wishing you the best. Martina, i don't know if you'll read this, but i love you even i don't know you (parasocial relationships are so strange lmao), and eyk was part of my comfort zone for many years, and i want to continue supporting you and cherish you with your new direction and rebranding. I got a lil teary brb i'll watch the video to pacify myself 🤧.
You are a gem Martina. I grew up with EatYourKimchi but my goodness your individual content is so well crafted. You should be so proud of your channel’s future, and most importantly you. Sending love from the States!
I've been a fan since I was in middle school and you were back in Korea (I'm 20 now) and this new age of production is my favorite so far. It feels thought out and genuine. It's laid back and friendly, very approachable! I love these new videos and I'm so excited for more!
Merry Christmas Martina, here's to a 2023 where King Kogi can continue to grow and gain more traction in its own right 💕 I think videos like this, with such wonderful production quality, are a great sign of things to come. (And you'll always be a chronic illness icon) Edited To Add: Oh!! Would you consider adding accessibility notes to your guides? As a wheelchair user and traveller, I'd love if the recommendations contained a small note saying if a place is wheelchair accessible and if it has an accessible toilet, for example.
Martina, you are one awesome Woman! You talked to me a bit over Facebook a few years ago when I reached out about my serve Depression and I sincerely appreciate you doing that! I am still at the bottom rung but I love your videos and I can escape for a bit enjoying your adventures!
My husband and I have watched you for years. I went to Japan in 1988. I was 19. I have ever since, wanted to go back. My husband and I are planning a trip in our nearish future. Thanks for the new King Kogi travel plans. We will definitely support you. Have you met Eric surf 6? We've watched him for years, too. We love you, Martina. ❤️❤️❤️

Hiya, I really love your videos and have been using them to plan my trip in May! I was wondering if you had a drop pin on a map for the Yasu Mitsu Bazu bun shop in Nakazakicho please! x
Hi Martina! Congratulations on launching your digital travel guide! Little tidbit for 14:57 -- I had some business trips in Kansai in the past and also noticed the single-person chairs. When I asked my Japanese co-worker about it, he said those were placed that way, specifically facing away from the tracks, so that a drunken person doesn't get up off the chair and walk straight onto the tracks.
Whaaaaat! That totally makes sense! Now that I think about it, many train stations in Tokyo have gates that open automatically to prevent people from falling/jumping on the tracks but I didn’t notice any in Osaka 🤯
I can’t tell you how happy I am to see you get to eat your own food without someone scarfing it down themselves. I’ve watched you for years quietly and I’m here for this new channel! ❤ u Martina
I've been a long time viewer, and am thrilled to be able to keep viewing your content. I struggle with my mental health, but putting on your videos of a night time calms me and fills me with hope. Whenever people ask me who I look up to as a role model I think of you. Thank you for being you 💖
Thank you for creating such great content and all the hard work that goes into it. I really appreciate how thoughtful you are by recommending a less noisy and crowded place to enjoy snacks, so anyone who might be overstimulated will be able to enjoy the same thing. Keep creating this wholesome content that I have enjoyed from you for years. 🙂

I went to Hugh's Pizza and absolutely enjoyed it! I currently live in Japan and sometimes miss American food, especially pizza (Japanese food is great but there are times when you miss food from home) and thanks to you, I was able to kill those feelings of culinary homesickness. Thank you!
I love that you show us the sights that regular tourists usually miss. I never planned when I went to Tokyo, though. I just randomly picked a stop on the Yamanote line and intentionally got lost exploring. ❤️ You find the coolest places that way!
We went to Hughes Pizza after watching this video as we prepared for our trip. Great Pizza and cute little neighborhood. Would visit again 5/5. Thank you for introducing them!
Love the city tours! Hope you guys venture to those cute little mountain towns scattered across Japan. Absolutely love the small-time vibes and little regional treats! You go gurrrrrrl.
Okay, thank you so much for the vids Martina - your advice and recommendations are always spot on! I went to Taifu Hanten one rainy lunchtime 2 weeks ago and the curry blew my face off. Anyone visiting Osaka, this place is a must!
Love this content! Keep it up Martina 😊 watching this video gave me nostalgia to 2018 when I sat on that bench at the cafe under the vines, with a coffee. Miss Japan and will definitely visit soon after watching this!
Shopping arcades in Japan are definitely something to check out. It seems "authentic" or "organic" compared to shopping inside malls. Malls may be more convenient (and consistent as to what you can find and how easy you can navigate), but if you have the time to spare to explore, the Japan shoutengai is definitely worth it!
Seeing you look so happy and exploring Japan is so exciting. I am so glad that you are able to continue your travel dreams, wishing you a wonderful new year filled with new adventures. Keep being you, Martina.

Martina, I've been watching you since your early YT channel, but I haven't been following your previous channel for a while. I'm glad to see you're back doing youtube. I wish I watched this video before my Osaka trip few months ago. Sending you lots of hugs!
love watching your video highlighting hidden treasures in japan and can't wait for the next video!
I was having a truly awful day and your videos always make me feel better. It's fun watching you explore the places you go and showing small business owners some love. Keep making awesome videos, Martina.
Happy Holidays to you and Happy Holidays to Dan, too.
I loved the video so much!! 💖💖
