    My first day on the road was today.
    I've been marketing the ever loving shit out of my truck on FB, Twitter, IG.
    This is a different type of job. We're keeping it simple till we get a fan base built up.
    We specialize in ramen bowls and ramen burritos. Our goal was to offer something new to the area. We're keeping prices low which means we gotta hustle harder.
    We still got a lot to learn, but I think we're on a good path.
    These are awesome tips. Hope it helps someone!

      @@chefboyardeeznuts6199 winter is a bit down, but a lot of people still aren't comfortable eating in, so we've had a lot of customers that typically don't eat off trucks stopping by.

    I'm going with a trailer myself, because of not what you said about the mechanic but the RV camper channels I watch... In a class A,B,C RV or box truck if it breaks down,your homeless... If you have a camper,you can get whatever to tow with whether it's a U-Haul truck or a beater off market place..
    Same here... You break down.. you're unemployed... With the trailer... It's a quick rescue...

    • @MarketingFoodOnline
      @MarketingFoodOnline  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hey Christopher actually if this is YOUR event you should charge for them to be a part . you can either charge a flat fee or a fee and percentage of sales.

      Unless your business is doing poorly & food is a necessity then you pay the food truck to pull up and or workout something where they would want to be there for your customers.
      Def depends on your exact circumstance. I’ve paid & ive been paid to pull up.

      I wouldn’t charge the trucks to come. They have a lot of prep and upfront costs. They are there to enhance your business and meet your customers demands (hopefully). Trucks can go anywhere without paying upfront profit. Figure out why a truck why go to your place and pay when they could go somewhere else for free..

    Thanks for posting this. You addressed my biggest obstacle in trying to put together this business. I am not the best with people. I am mad scientist when it comes to the food Warren Buffett when it comes to the money. Having to talk to customers is my worst nightmare. I am thinking about getting my husband involved he's great with people. I am just an introvert who loves to create. I am doing this to get away from my customer service job. This is a big hurdle for me.

      david lopez when we first started, people approached us. It has been all word of mouth since then. We don’t need to advertise or market. If I were you though, I would create a small flyer with a small catering menu with a couple different price points. Hand some out to regular customers. Also customers that work anywhere with more than 50 people. Start with 30-100 people and get comfortable with the small ones and build up to larger 500-600 person jobs

    I have a bus we are doing a basic conversion and I make tempered chocolate at home (refiner), and Chaga Chai, Truffles all refined sugar, and dairy, wheat-free, so allergy-free foods for most people. Haven't started yet --- scary. I originally came from Santa Cruz, CA, and in Duluth, MN which is a very different market? Open to ideas anyone can share please.
