This scoop was demonstrated at SWAT by Sally Ault. I missed her demo. so if you have an opportunity to see her demonstration, do it. Meanwhile, this is my version. It is the easiest because there is no offset axis or wildly flying handle. Yet, there is one very important tip. Drill the hole for the handle tenon before sanding the interior or even earlier.
Again, my wood soft jaws played an important role replacing the need for a jam chuck.
The bowl is plum; the handle appears to be mahogany. Both are finished with shellac.

This is a nice and easy style of scoop. I think it was originally introduced by Ruth Niles and I am glad that Sally Ault continued with this style.
Your presentation was precise and easy to follow, thank you for producing your videos!
P.S. your soft jaws are neat and very useful.

Nice, Alan. I'm glad it wasn't a one piece turning. That handle flying around would scare me. Have you done one like that before? Also, I agree that you can't stress safety enough.

Nice one, definitely something I will try!!
How did you glue the handle? And how did you hold it in place while the glue dried?
The contact surface seems ridiculously small; isn't it a bit fragile?

Std Wood Glue, Holding not a problem. Yes, small. the whole scoop is on the fragile side. For tougher, turn thicker.
