Thanks for all your videos Tom. You have entertained my and educated me over the last few years. You have given nearly everything a try. I WISH YOU MUCH LUCK and a GREAT FUTURE.
What am I missing @11:23, how is that 456% for 2021. Just quickly running the numbers in my head adds that at more like 250% no? Or is it not as simple as adding each month together, does etoro's total compound?
I love your videos and I am watching them for a good while now, keep up the good work. I have a couple of questions. Can you do a video summarising your journey, what worked, what didn’t, what would you change if if you were to start over the trading journey, your overall return or loss from the inception.
That's basically it, yeah. I've been ignoring it since the beginning, but it's started showing up in not adding money and things, so I thought it best to just make a clean break.
Yes can one copy these et bundles so to speak in virtual portfolio..did copy traders within virtual account with real money 💰 or virtual money to trst them out? Frank
@@SocialTrading Im unsure to how, but its the indicie so its got future contracts and normally traders use it. Most longer term investors use the ETFs that track it. Think their might be daily fees on SPX500 when its more of a annual management fee on ETFs. So SPX500 for short term day trading and others to hold for days, months, etc
Hi Thomas just started watching your channel. I think the way forward is also copying other traders. Considering the traders you follow are up considerably, why are you not up more on your monthly stats ? Sam
Do you know I haven’t actually been tracking that. I’m just assuming it’s accurate… I’ll have a look. I think it’s accurate though over the time I’ve been copying them - remember I had lost a little with some others I’d been copying earlier.
You mean the charts of each individual PI I'm going to copy? I had looked at each of these traders in the past - I'd done reviews on them, but never copied them for one reason or another. The idea here is to see if I was maybe very wrong in not copying them. I never reviewed Machi though, as his volatility wasn't right for me, so I don't think I've looked at his chart properly at all. I usually use the chart to track drawdowns. How do you use it to track buy-ins? Do you mean stats manipulation by that? (Intentional or unintentional...)
So how do you spot stats manipulation when they add money to the account!!! Is there a way to do that? At the moment I think it is possible to know if money was added only if the PI informs us! But who is going to keep track of all that!
@@sbadrawi2011a in the diagramm you sometimes see huge losses especially over the 2 years frame when they are below the 10k mark, but his portfolio is all green. Hope Etoro gets on the back of the problem if enough people get against it. I myself for example was invested in Jaynemesis and he was mostly up, but after 2 years i only gained 1% winings.
@@SocialTrading in the diagram you see the total losses and i dont think you can fix them with pay ins, especially after 2022 was a bad year for many and they got drawn down alot
Dear thanks for this video.. I started to following you however I received message that I am restricted to copy new traders on top of three I got so far ? Is it because I have my own shared position along with copying traders ?? Thanks and keep on the great videos !
Well if you invest in the guy that has nvdia once it is green that would make no sense, the thing is to take advantage that it is in the red so you pick up the gains of going back to green...
In the past copying someone in virtual portfolio was not really working well, missing lots of ppsition and the longer i kept it it was more out of sync. Maybe they fixed it, dont use etoro anymore.
Yeah, I used to have a lot fo problems with it too, but that was a few years ago, so I'm hoping they fixed it as well. To be honest I didn't think this through and could have set it up a bit more wisely :)
I have also noticed a lot of problems in the virtual account, such as the trailing stop loss triggering too early and for no reason! I think etoro does not put much effort into supporting the functionality of the virtual accounts as it is not a priority!
@@SocialTrading As far as I know shorts can be uploaded from mobile. And have to be shorter than 1 minute. When I upload a video shorter than 1 minute BUT from my computer, it doesn't go to shorts, but to normal videos. Possibly you are encountering similar problem.
You do not need 4700 USD to compare the gains of the SPX500 with the traders in your copy portfolio. All you need to do if you want to know results in real time, is to invest 1000 USD buying the SPX500. Then compare the gains in %. if the SPX makes 9 % in a year, and the traders you copy makes 7% then they didn´t beat the index.
True :) A much simpler option! I could also just choose to display their charts on the same screen as the SPX500, and it'd be really easy to see the visual. I just never even considered the Virtual portfolio for this sort of thing, so wanted to have a go.
I had the trade I couldnt close in my real portoflio. It takes many emails to etoro to make them close it. Your one is in virtual portfolio so shouldnt bother you much.
Good video recommend last week shares magazine on uk stock very good also page article on bonds inversion ..what fo you make of et diversified portfolios on ai ,natural resources.,medical tec etc. ? Frank ps et podcasts very useful
Copying ppl in a virtual portfolio dosnt work well. All the open trades just stay like that forever and new ones wont open. They performance won't be showcasing the real one. However you can compare them easily from the past performance. Interesting topic :)
@@SocialTrading yeah on the individual stocks page. There used to be a chart on the stats that you could select 6 months 12, two years etc and max. Found this really useful when buying stocks using the mobile app, as most my trading is done via mobile.
The fact that the tech stocks are down just means you can now buy them at a cheaper price, unless if there's something fundamentally wrong with those businesses. It's funny how our psychology changes when it comes to the market.
Someone recently said It's the only market where everyone runs out of the shop as soon as the sales start :) I'm constantly waiting to see if it's 'the massive collapse' I'm expecting. If it's not, I don't mind missing a day or two's move.
If you look at the real estate cycle, the next big wins are commodities. Tech will struggle with inflation sticking around and going higher. Try invest in Oil or Copper, or Gold / Silver Miners ($GDX) or anything commodity. There is a Oil Worldwide fund you shown on smart portfolio for example. Watch tech get slammed by commodities
wow, that'd be really interesting to see eh... I do remember some commodity-focused investors from Asia from way back. Maybe I'll have a look at how they're doing - it's a good point. Amit's pretty useful for the energy sector, but haven't got a pure commodities trader in there - it's always been someone very hard to find.
@@SocialTrading I was going to start on Etoro for that but its more of a long term look and I think many copiers look at 1 month, 2 month, etc so havent bothered, plus im UK so I dont like the primary currency of dollar and interface for myself

yes it must compound, as when the big gains are earlier in the year, the end difference is bigger than simple addition.
@@theopascha1692 Yeah thought as much, not sure how I've never noticed this before.
yeah, it compounds :)

That is your intuition and it’s never wrong.

Heya Frank - are you using a translator on your messages by any chance?
No just typing without glasses on lol ..
Do not use SPX500, thats the indicie with future contracts, put the money into and ETF that track the S&P. Like VUSA or whatever is available on Etoro
Ah... So the SPX500 won't accurately mirror the S&P 500?
