I drove for Uber in London for 6 years up until 2022. As a night driver. If I was ever requested ( by a rider ) to go to a seedy or otherwise suspect area, ( & indeed it does happen ), I always drove out of the area. Always drove with central locking engaged until accepted a rider request & always only upon visual sighting of rider/customer. Anyone shady looking wasn’t allowed access into my vehicle.
One has to use one’s noddle when dealing with the unknown nature of people.
Any sign of impropriety, immediately vacated the situation.
Don't ever pick up hitch hikers, or don't ever hitchhike either. Plus STAY AWAY FROM AIR B&B'S!!! It don't matter, just stay far away! Women stop jogging at Night in secluded areas. Like forests or parks in New York! Jog in the morning time and do laps around the nearest police station. (I love you women ) always ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR GUT!!!! YOUR GUT FEELING SHOULD BE LISTENED TO (cause it will keep you Safe). If something's off, or something is telling you go left, NOT RIGHT BUT Go left, than go left. Even if it's the Longer way home and you're tired Still listen to your gut feeling. I've learned that Long ago. Oh and to all the newly weds, and the couple's eager to Marry soon SHORTLY AFTER THE WEDDING DON'T GET A $10M LIFE INSURANCE POLICY, BECAUSE ONE WILL TRY AND KILL THE OTHER!

I stopped and picked up a hitchhiker late one night. Once inside my car the hitchhiker thanked me for stopping especially so late at night. He then asked why I wasn’t scared he could have been a ax murderer?
I replied, na the odds of two ax murderer’s being in the same car at the same time was astronomical

Awesome i love wintertime. Hate the heat. Im in Toowoomba qld and suffering in the heat. The humidity storms that knock out power. For me a truly misserable time. Cant wait for our fall and winter. Even the clothes are better.
I just googled Toowoomba and it is gorgeous. I’ll gladly suffer through some heat to live in such a beautiful city. I live in Utah (US) and six months on average of the year Nov- March/April are cold and snowy, so I’ll gladly trade you 😂

I used to rent a cabin deep into the woods during winter. Never slept completely peacefully.
That Air B&B one, wouldn’t the owner have done a check, walk through, and cleaned up the place before setting it as ready? And if they hadn’t, isn’t that something worth reporting?
I always feel Guilty about the idea of ordering Delivery for anything during a snow storm or heavy snow--I would just DIE if someone got in an accident trying to deliver my stupid Pizza. Snow days are home-cooking days at my house!

It used to be customary for B and Bs to rent out a room with a bed in a home and provide breakfast in the morning. Nowadays, people rent out the home without always offering breakfast, but the name just stuck. The "air" part is because the company started with the owners setting up air mattresses in the rentals.
Anyone can basically rent out their home that they reside in or any other home they own,beach house,cabin,etc for a short term such as a week or a weekend or even just a night and I have also heard of as long as one month. It can be alot cheaper than a hotel. That is what an Air B and B is in a nutshell.
