    Quincy... if only there were players like you teaching here in England in one centralised place. I've lost count of the amount of drum teachers I've been taught by and they're all different not sure it has been good for my playing. There was one, a gigging drummer, who couldn't use brushes who I ended up teaching brush playing to. Anyway, thank you for the tutorials I'm gaining much from watching and implementing same. You definitely swing... 100% man. By the way, my favourite player has always been the deeply innovative Elvin Jones. I've learned much from studying his technique.

I have a deadline of a gig coming up soon, and I'm feeling like it's going to take me more time than I have to incorporate these ideas into my playing.

    • @drumqtips

    Hey Quincy,
    I am pretty comfortable with this technique at slow to medium temples but once the tempo start to get up the skip note starts to interfere with the flow and ease of motion/execution. Do you have a particular suggestion for practicing to even out the skip with this technique as the tempos increase?
    Thanks,
    Aaron

    • @drumqtips
      @drumqtips  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aaron, the quicker the tempo, the more aggressive you need to be with the lift and throwing of the stick. The THROW will help make your skip beat more integrated and less jagged and separated. Don't forget to try and treat all three notes like as a part of ONE stroke. Thanks for the question!
