@@neilwilliams2883 A slower rack only makes it harder to catch oversteer, among creating other issues, as is easily seen in the video. Slower racks make for lighter steering effort with wide tires and a manual rack. That's the only advantage.
Tmac maybe, but the Ferrari F1 team has been running relatively slow racks for years now and read about it some it back but I can’t remember the reason... I think it may have been to reduce the sensitivity of the rear end and protect the rear tyres.
Its not fair! After watching this almost frighteningly realistic vid, I have to get into my Chevy Cavalier and piddle away. I couldnt outrace a snail in it.
Lotus uses the 2GR with the oil squirters under the piston. More accurately the trucks with a tow package. “Camry engine” just has a nice clickbait sound to it.
2gr engine is still quite underrated even over a decade. But I wouldn't call a TVS1900 a Huge supercharger. Sure it's big for a V6 but when you start pushing 2.1+ ltrs of air then you're looking into Big superchargers. But this combo is definitely really nice!
@@aaronpreddy35 Well yeah. I don't know the specific volume, but it looks very sizable, so I was worrying that it might produce a lot of whine, and the engine had to work a lot to run that blower which might hinder the engine's revving capability (I might be wrong here.) Luckily, it turned out to be a heck of a combo, and I'm happy ^^
@@paulshi5974 yeah so this Supercharger is a TVS1900 so it's pushes 1.9c ft air per revolution. It's pretty decent but if you look at say an LS Engine (Since they generally use superchargers) they start off from 2.0 and go upwards - way upwards. What's surprising is this TVS1900 doesn't seem to have the intercooler kit attached, so maybe they plugged a custom intercooler underneath. Either way PDD just made a 1150-1200 HP 2GR & will put it in a MR2!! That's going to be heaven to listen to.
I wonder who are the two people who dislike this video. They must never been on a race car, can’t tell a good driver from the other. Not knowing what they are saying, I guess these are the naysayers...
I believe its because of the small engine bay. Space is limited to install a turbo down low and also the heat produced from turbos would soak the engine bay fairly quick. Not an expert on these cars, but ive seen it mentioned several times. Would love to see one with a high power turbo setup.
@@GregTGolden Avoiding heat soak and linear power delivery were my reasons. I have a TVS1320 on my Elise. With the 4 cylinder 2ZZGE engine, you can drop the supercharger low down in front of the block to improve your center of gravity, too. There are a few turbo'd Elises and Exiges out there, but that lag makes them a handful on tight tracks.
Depends on driving preferability. Big turbo is like a kick in the back from Satan. Big supercharger is like the hand of god shoving you forward. I use a harrop 1320 (which is the oem v6 one) on my 2.0 engine. Best.Investment.Ever.
I love this car. It looks like your steering ratio is around 14 to 1 like a standard Road car. Maybe you should shoot for 8 to 1 or 10 to 1. Your lap times would be amazing

@@rustyshackleford6562 I'm with you on the V6, but I love shifting my Elise, no matter how much faster the computer might be.

like the short silence when shifting gears and then continue to scream 💥
like oldschoool F1 v6 turbo :D
Bwaaaaaaa *short pause* Bwaaaaaaaaa

Not usually a fan of V6 engines but this thing sounds incredible
Best sounding V6.
Sounds a bit like a 12 cyl. ;)
Overall, pretty awesome Sound
Its subjective
Nvr Dwn it’s up there with the v6 Jaguar F-Type
@Frank White it's just the exhaust manifold that will make the big difference in sound aside from displacement but they sound really good.
Camry.
People saying too stiff, but I don’t know any race car that can float over nasty rumble strips like those! 4:05
Love seeing “ Harrop” on a supercharger. Great Aussie technology.🇦🇺
Hey always take pride where you find it...
I've never seen anyone use the kerbs quite as much as this guy does.
I'm surprised at that steering ratio.
yeah bizarre right
Zach Buchowski might need a quicker rack
if it's an MR car, then perhaps the slower rack helps to reduce oversteer... just a guess

I think he needs to soften his dampers for the track he's on.
I agree, it feels like there's a lot of chattering
He probably cant with the power hes putting down plus the sequential. Not sure what it is but I've seen a turbo 2gr with a kaps ls7 box, sheesh.

TOYOTA V6 💪💪💪 Would love to see the car do a time attack on the Nurburgring
