- Reto Meisel brought his outrageous Judd V8 powered Mercedes SLK340 to Rampa da Falperra, making the 630Hp/760Kg echo through the mythic Portuguese Mountain.
Although a last minute failure of the Starter Motor made it impossible to complete the event, it was on its way to get very close to the All Time Touring Car Record. In the end it´s amazing footage like this that is left behind from a participation that we believe will be repeated on 2019.

Definitely has a wide stance... Check out Judd Luster Storm which had a 1' wider front stance than the rear... It should have done better than it did in road races

Check out Georg Plato,he was the best,broke countless records as a privateer doing what he loved and his BMW M class with only 570 horsepower kicks the the crap out of this 11,000 horsepower car
Sadly he passed away from a crash in Italy 2011 with a mechanical failure,his death was a sad one and with 4 people at the scene no one helped him

won’t probably do a great lap, because all the aero wouldn’t allow for top speeds in the back straight, but if you stop the chrono right before the straight boi it’d be a rocket
@@datutturugang666 It's not just the back straight, Nordschleife is a pretty fast track altogether. Think of Flugplatz/Schwedenkreuz, Fuchsröhre, Bergwerk.

Nowadays with many cars powered by 2.0 turbo 4cyl, racing should be switching to that configuration. I remember the days of F1 1.5 liter turbo 4 cylinders cranking out 1000+ hp. That was a show!

Georg Plaza with his 134 judd was here in Falperra in 2011 .... the noise of the 134 judd was much more beautiful than this. unfortunately george passed away, and no more was heard of his car. I would like to see the 134 judd again. R.I.P Georg Plaza

thats because the exhaust config on the bmw is 8-2-1
I don't think it's faster, it's probably even slightly slower: he did a 2:08 on his first climb, BMW 134 did 4:12 on his combined 2 climbs, which means an average of 4:06. In fact, besides all the Normas and Osellas, there's was even an impressive "BRC BR-53" that did 3:57 on his 2 combined climbs!!
Reto's skill is crazy, so smooth even on the limit.

Car is set up very well. Looks easy to drive at high speeds. Driver looks relaxed while driving it.

Definitely a cool car, but why all the sparks? When you are putting metal parts on the ground, you are increasing drag and decreasing traction. In the motorcycle world, when you put hard parts onto the pavement when leaning in a corner, it works as a lever arm to lift the weight off of the tires, which is a crash waiting to happen. Seems like they should raise the chassis 5 mm and 5mm lower air dam, side skirt and diffuser, because those are flexible parts, not hard parts.
It's a hill climb run so if it does slow him down, it's far more efficient than braking.

I saw a video of a Judd V8 BMW on Assetto Corsa and I am absolutely astonished at how identical the sound is from the game to real life!
You probably saw Georg Plasa's BMW 134 Judd. Unfortunately he was killed in an accident driving that car 10 years ago. This SLK is essentially the same car in a different shell. Reto was a close friend of Plasa's and I think he recruited many of the same engineers who had worked with Plasa before.
Just wondering does Judd make an alarm clock....
All these mercedes look amazing but also look pretty heavy co.pared to other cars..

Great video. Looks like the car was set up a little too low for this event due to road conditions. Maybe 2 inches higher on the suspension would of helped keep it from bottoming out the entire time over every single bump or dip in the road. Cool sparks and all but I doubt the driver or pit crew afterwards enjoyed that.
