Tried both flow2pro and m7 and one thing to consider about ai tracking is the camera f-stop in dim/dark scenario: most phones nowadays have very bright cameras and flow2pro will benefit from it. I've found m7 ai camera loosing track more often in dim lighting probably due to aperture size (things looked darn dark on the built-in screen), despite my phone could capture the image perfectly. Also, if gimbal is far on a tripod it's much easier to select tracking target on another phone for f2pro than on a smallish screen of m7. Otherwise, slightly adjusting your technique provide similar user experience. Love the size of flow2pro and widescreen mode of m7. Chose f2pro in the end but was veeeery compelled to keep m7 as well, something draws you to it as soon as you pick it up. Great comparison, thanks.
Otto, a great video, thank you. I just sent my M7 back, I have the M6, and the M7 whilst on paper looks amazing when used felt like 7 out of 10 for everything. One important issue as well is that the way they’ve designed it you can’t plug anything in to the USB C Which means that it’s ability to deal with bigger weight is useless. I tried various combinations to try and make something work and the way they designed it just makes it far too awkward. It’s actually easier to add peripherals to the Insta360 flow pro version one and I would assume version two. The Insta can also be used with its own camera app which still recording an Apple pro raise log so you get all the benefits of the app as well as keeping Apple log. You don’t get that with the others and you don’t get Apple to use any camera app and I think once you startexpanding how you use it the pro two will be the one you keep with you all the time. Just my humble opinion.
Hey thanks for sharing your thoughts. I’m really not sure how the usb port is not working, it’s meant to be used to charge your phone mainly. Would you please share what were you trying to connect?
As far as the app being able to record using Apple ProRes, I think that the idea of the M7 is to step away from the necessity of using the app of the gimbal and being able to use any app, which opens up a lot of freedom and possibilities. As I said in this video or the previous one without the M7, I acknowledge that the Insta360 app is much better and has some cool new features, but even when I use the F2Pro I still prefer to use my regular camera app
@@OttoJulian_ Apologies, I meant that you can’t plug-in a mic or a SSD due to the way they fit the phone into the dev device. I might be missing something though.
@@Coatsey007 oh I see your point. Most likely you are talking about the bottom of the phone being against the motor, I’ve had that question quite often and the solution is to move the phone away to connect either a cable or the receiver on the phone. Rebalance will be necessary but it will work fine unless the phone rig is too heavy by itself
Question: Can either the ISteady M& or Insta360 Flow 2 pro be used for real estate to create videos and which one would be best, I will be using a iPhone 14 Pro Max
I think the M7 is to bulky and inconvenient for an occasional/travel user. Maybe for someone who is doing videos everyday it makes sense, but for me personally, portability is a big thing. Im gonna order the Flow2 i guess. Thanks for comparing and sharing.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. Indeed if you need portability then the M7 is not the best choice! There is a free magnetic mount for the Flow 2 Pro that you can get if you order using the official link that is below in the video description
@@joelconolly5574 True, that one was on my shortlist as well after deciding the m7 was way too big. Still on the fence between the v3 and flow2pro 😕 I like the features of the flow2pro, and the convenience of the magsafe clip is a big win i think.

Hi Otto. I had the M6, but found the previous Insta360 Flow bettter suited for me. I fly drones, and mostly need a gimbal on a tripod to showcase a drone before flights & get B Roll. Hey thanks for the videos. Any chance I can clip my sony rx 100 vi on either the hohem v3 or m7? The camera weights around 300g and should just meet the weight limit of the v3. Not sure about the clamp mechanism though. Cheers!
Hi. Weight wise Is fine but form factor will not work as these are for smartphones. Look on my channel, there is a review of the Hohem MT2. That’s what you need for your Sony camera
that was a great deal for real! I bought another one for myself but forgot to pick it up at the locker. Anyway, if you feel that the features of the Flow 2 Pro are pretty good for what you do then maybe it's not a bad idea. Plus if you have an iPhone, if you use the link that is in my description you will get a magSafe mount, this is one of my favorite things about the Flow 2 PRO. On the other hand, if you feel like the OM6 is enough or that you won't be using the new features of the insta360 then just stay with the current one
iSteady V3 should upgrade its AI tracker like M7, max payload up to 350 with stronger motor, and should add 1/4” standard screw like M7, Pro 4 & other iSteady gimbals. By adding 1/4” screw, we can attach phone holder and much more features than flow 2 pro selfie mirror. With these upgraded features, V3 or V3S (I think s stands for special) that works for both iOS & Android will surely surpass its rivals.
@ If you think this is a good idea and can suggest to Hohem, pls pass this message to the company. So that we customers can enjoy the best (maybe) compact size gimbal in the market.

I use my OM5 for recording gymnastics so I can watch live vs through a lens. The tracking isn’t great. Want something that tracks another. Now after either firmware or I am guessing age my OM5 no longer has stable video it bounces a lot in the video like it is shaken. is it?
