  • The Western Wolves are a medieval combat group based in Ballarat, Australia. We are an up and coming HMB (Historical Medieval Battle) team. We compete in full contact steel fighting using blunted steel weaponry and participate in various types of fights including; Buhurt (team fights), pro fighting (1 v 1 fights), weapon specific duelling, and All V All fights (royal rumble). We train weekly and run sessions for HMB and HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) at Kryal Castle. We host monthly demonstration fights at Kryal, participate in local tournaments such as the Goldfields Medieval Faire (March) as well as Timeline Festival (October).
Our team also fight interstate and around the world and we are attending Battle of the Nations for the first time this year in Serbia. Our fighters will be representing Australia in the 12 v 12 and 150 v 150 battles as well as the sword and buckler pro fights.
If you are interested in finding out more information, feel free to message us with any questions you may have or if you are interested in joining our team, come along to our training sessions which run on Tuesdays (HEMA) and Thursdays (HMB) starting at 6PM at Kryal Castle.

Oh yeah haha it's pretty extreme conditions being in armour, especially to fight in.

That’s not the original type of Chinese helmet armor.

It's europian helmets (and some looks like mongolian version). Chineese armor historicaly is not so strong (asians prefer light armor and good mobility instead of european heavy khights that were wearing full plate armor) and can't help participants to be safe during Battle of the Nations fightings. If every nation will wear it's own historical armor, there will be a lot of wounded people from Africa, North and South America that hadn't any metal armor several centuries ago, just leather and wood

@@dodgex6592 dude, Chinese used to wear brigantine between 13-18 centuries. Even in 1840 the optimum war, some soldiers were still wearing that against British( and we all know what happened). Before that, search key word “iron pagoda” or “Chinese cataphract”

For body armour, yes, that’s Chinese brigantine and mountain-patten rope. For helmet, they all have sponges and plastic inside. That’s a sport, man, not a museum antique destruction.
