I'm certain Tolkien would have loved to witness this. He loved music and had a lot of songs in his books, especially the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings (the World was even born through music, kinda). Seeing people singing songs of his stories to this day proves his mythology lives on: Thank you so much for this masterpiece!
Nice song, but I'm not quite that sure. Neither Nargothrond nor Gondolin (both mere elvish) were like Minas Tirith (shown in the video). Nargothrond was built by Felagunds people (Noldor) in a vast cave at the river Narog. The city of Gondolin is beyond comparison in middle earth. Ulmo led Turgon (Noldor) to the valley of Tumladen. Turgons people (also Noldor) built a city there. In addition to that Durin was one of the fathers of the dwarves and the oldest one. He named a lot of things. Balin and Gimli belong to his descendants. True, the world was sung into existence. B u t ... Valar sang, neither elves nor dwarves nor men; also beyond comparison and therefore not able to be shown in a video. B u t ... despite of that ... nice video.
@@BullenrasslerTuk That is right. But Tolkien also wrote that after the End of Days the Choir of the Children of Ilúvatar shall sing even more gloriously to Ilúvatar, and then every song would immediately gain being for everyone would know their part in the Song! And this Choir shall include not only the Ainur (Valar) but also elves, dwarves and men which means that only with the participation of the Children of Ilúvatar in the Great Music the World will finally reach its purpose and the Song will be completed.
The real reason that this is so amazing is because it awakens a part of you, a longing for adventure that's trapped inside the chains technology has wrapped around it. In a way it sets you free. It give you a longing for something that never will come to pass.
Mayhaps not in this life, in this place. But we stand tall, we dreamers of Hireath, we stand tall within our hearts and long for the days of drakes and dreams, blades and magicks. Someday, we will find our way there, and perhaps we will find we have simply found our way back home.
It's a dream that we humans can fulfill, if we could see what the Creator, God or Iluvatar has put in the best of us, that's how I see it. Morgoth....Sauron is slowly taking over the world now in our days, Sauron's minions pit us against each other, the great monster who loves money, Smaug....the message of the books is much deeper, simple people will succeed (metaphorically speaking there are many gnomes, hobbits and elves in the world) to bring down the Sauron of our days? The books and movies are wonderful, but do we remain at the stage of dreaming?
I always go on holiday to Wilderswil, a small village located near the city of Interlaken in Swiss. Before Tolkien was sent to the front he spent a few days in Interlaken and explored the region and many things of the surroundings were direct inspirations for regions in Middle Earth. The mountain range of the Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger inspired the misty mountains. Lauterbrunnen/Siebenbrunnen (dont remember which one) was the inspiration for Rivendell. And so there are more things in Swiss that inspired Tolkien. Everytime i go there on a holiday I can't help but feel like Bilbo going on an adventure

"THE WORLD WAS FAIR IN DURIN'S DAY" Brilliant
Yaawwasy
Fair in this context is in reference to beauty.
Namely, it means unblemished/untarnished.
A king there was on throne engraved
In great halls of colonnades
With roof of gold and argent floor
And mighty runes along the door
The brightest light of moon and star
In crystal lamps shines through the dark
Unshadowed by the veil of night
They burned eternal shimmering white
The skies are bleak, the hills are aged
The forge's flames have died away
No songs are sung, no blade is cast
In Durin's halls the evil lasts
The darkness hangs over his tomb
Beneath the mountain in the gloom
But e'er the fallen stars glow freer
In cool and breathless Mirrormere
There rests his crown in water clear
Till Durin returns once more from sleep
That is impressive.
