- FIRST LOOK: The Challenger is Dodge's ultimate muscle car and for 2022 that have a special edition. It has been a top seller going up against the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. On the outside of the Scat Pack Hemi Orange Edition you will notice unique bar code striping, orange badging, 6-piston orange Brembo calipers, and 20in wheels. On the inside the Hemi Orange theme carries throughout. Under the hood is a 6.4L Hemi V8 that churns out 485HP & is mated to an 6-speed manual gearbox.. I think “hemi orange” valve covers would have really set this challenger apart from the others and go with the theme of this car. Gunna give dodge a Zonk on that!

Every time I watch challenger videos, I always think "I LOVE MY CHALLENGER!!" in my head. It's not anything fancy or high end, 2015 3.6L SXT plus. I still love my challenger!

i have a sxt plus, love it but i've been wanting to upgrade for awhile and found me the same car in the video except it's granite and it's perfect i can't wait
Totally agree with the exhaust. Quad tip with a nice diffuser would’ve been fantastic. Other than that, great car for daily.

I would like to see the round tips like the charger on it and hear that with 5 inch tips. Personally I want to go with that but with a catless down pipe longtube headers and a xmod extreme delete exhaust with valve delete

I agree 100% ,Ive been trying to convince myself i like the widebody charger ,because at some angles i like it ,but when im out in the real world and see one on the road they just dont do it for me,The challenger widebody is a totally different story ,I love it
I actually like the widebody charger A LOT! my only gripe is that it only comes as an automatic, so Challenger it is for me!
As much as I love the chargers I have to agree with you.
Opposite for me.. I've seen both in person and the widebody charger looks way better.

The reason for the “ oblong “ exhaust tip is so it matches up with the “ oblong “ reflectors and “ oblong “ tail lights. Dodge knows what it’s doing; the “ canon “ tailpipes are on the Chargers. The quad tailpipes are for the “ other “ cars like Mustang and Camaros. I love the look it’s consistent throughout……
Black will always be the best color on any car.

Every muscle car with a pure combustion engine and the option of a manual or authomatic trasmition is the best option IMO

I always have to say one thing in this video: I really love the color of this Dodge challenger. Also I always consider as an dodge fan of their products especially this one. Also I be praying that I will able to afford one of these vehicles while I still can before everything goes All-electric. Overall, fantastic job and review joe.
Yeah I think the snokeshow colour contrasts this hemi orange package the best, but it looks great with the black nonetheless. If you're on the fence and it's within your budget reach, I would go for it before everything goes electric like you said. That's the way I looked at it as well. So I did it. My RT arrived in March after a 7 month wait but it came just in time for spring. Don't regret a thing. Worth the wait.
You didn't mention why Hemi Orange. Back in the days Hemi's wore a specific color to Mopar. From NHRA rracing. NASCAR also banned, ie: Daytona and Superbirds

If you’re gonna do car reviews you have to do some reading up on them or at least the brochure so you can memorize some key points to go with all the Twinkie filler.
I don't know how many times I have watched your Challenger reviews....and TRX (the ultimate dream, but way out of my reach. Still fun to watch). I don't think there is anyone better on TH-cam in regard to car reviews and fun factor. Thank you brother.

Even though the platform is dated along with the interior dodge still knows how to build the true muscle car IMO. I’d take that over the others any day. Also take note at the 11:36 mark of the muscle SUV in the background. Love it!!

So today review is about the "real American muscle car", or also known as the Dodge Challenger. Now the Dodge Challenger was already a crazy muscle car, but this "new" 2022 Dodge Challenger Hemi Orange Edition, which makes it more cooler with some orange and black striping running from the hood, roof and the trunk.
Besides that it adds 20 inch wheels, fixed orange 4-piston Brembo brakes, gloss black exterior and interior, and Alcantara seats, ECT.
Anyways what is your favorite sports cat and why.
(Besides that Joe would probably choose the Dodge Challenger, but "Like always *ON* *THROTTLE* ")

I came back from the auto show a couple of hours ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it very much. I saw pretty much everything that I wanted to see although I was a bit bummed out that there was no Genesis, BMW, and other big brands there. All of that was essentially tossed aside and in their place were driving courses for electric cars.
Anyways, I was very glad that I got the chance to see that Challenger Hemi Orange Edition with the manual along with the Charger Hellcat Jailbreak. Lest we not forget about the Wagoneers. My father was actually looking into either a Chevy Tahoe/Suburban or Series I Jeep Wagoneer when he decides to sell our 2017 RAM 1500. I'm hoping he goes for the Wagoneer. Not to say that I wouldn't like a new Tahoe/Suburban, but I'm really loving that Wagoneer. If only you could get it in that carbonite trim color that the Wagoneer L has. Regardless, I really loved looking at those beasts. I also loved those older cars like the Jaguar XJR-15 and MK4 Supra.

I love this vehicle is black. Its a thing of beauty. There are 3 Dodge dealerships here and they literally have 3Dodge Challengers and its are all V6.SMH Also you mentioned this car is 53K. There is no way in this insane market that this car would be only $53K It will at minimum have a 10k markup.
Only if you allow the stealership to charge you 10k over MSRP

I screwed up. I ordered mine with all of the options but I got it with the granite color instead of the black. The black is amazing. Delivery is suppose to be in May.

Went to the New York auto show today and it was sad. No Honda, Acura, Mercedes, BMW, Land Rover, Audi, Cadillac, or even Tesla. The only vehicle that was there that’s on the list for my wife’s next ride was the Lexus RX

Black the best color all day long period. for any muscle car.The orange accents really clever touch.the spoiler gourds id leave on cause you can easily scratch the spoiler.once in awhile take it off.
I love the all-black color and with those orange highlights,she would be just perfectly suited to my hometown team,the Baltimore O's.
I agree the exhaust tips should be divided like the 70 Challenger R/T's were. And the whole "HEMI Orange" color name came from the distinctive orange colored paint on the 2nd gen HEMI engines. So why isn't the engine painted "HEMI Orange" or the engine trimmed in some "HEMI Orange" painted pieces?
The stripe is ... meh. I agree the scat pack bee should have some color. I've ALWAYS thought ALL the Scat Pack's should have embroidered BEES(in color) on the seat backs.
This car is black and it looks good, but is it solid color black, or metallic black? My son and I both have metallic black cars and I really like it. Are there any other body colors available? Because that could be an interesting option.

Sup Joe, what made you choose the ZL1 over a hellcat? Being 6’0 tall the challenger would be more comfortable for you.
It was the 6-speed manual.
Everybody had a hellcat (where I live in ATL). Ive yet to see a ZL1 til this day. Camaro’s are pretty comfortable too. The lack of visibility is overexaggerated. I learned how to drive on my mom’s 2010 SS like a decade ago lol
@@SicSemperBeats the interior kills the hallcat for me, it feels/looks outdated af. if they updated the interior i would strongly consider one. (im 6'5 so i need bigger cars)
@@BigsGaming yea man. The shapes on the interior of the charger/challenger are awful. Like the bezels around every button and screen are huge, its not even the fact that its outdated, its just designed like a truck or something (even though the ram looks much better)
@@SicSemperBeats I’ve own a old hellcat and did get rid of it for the exact car joe has. I still do have a gt 350r and I love it as well. But the zl1 is something special to drive. Especially since you don’t see them a lot. And yes the manual was a incentive as well. My hellcat was a automatic.
Built this model on the Dodge website. I attempted to keep the options the same as I saw in the video. The price came out to $59,820. It is a nice looking mopar. There are things that Joe zonks are cars that he doesn't like but he doesn't zonk these very same things on cars that he does like. Otherwise this is an excellent review as always. The camera person deserves a large pay raise.

I love the afterthought stick on fender flares. “Oops, Mustangs and Camaros are killing us with our skinny ass tires…throw some cheesy flares and wider tires on it”. Still getting killed, but not as bad.

The big tires on wider stance throws up a lot of stuff on the side of the body. I added mud guards, (I forgot where I got them from) they helped a little. Recently traded for a Corvette Grand Sport.

I think this is the best looking Dodge Challenger I’ve ever seen. The tire set up that blacked out look with a touch of orange is so mean looking for an American muscle car. Sad that the days of iconic V8’s are going away. Like Raiti’s Rides says “ no replacement for displacement “. I had to build my 2023 C8 3LT Z51 fully loaded for MSRP because the ZO6 is marked up to 200K.

I actually think it’s great, instead of having to buy a muffler or remove any pipes, it gives it a little boost and a nice sound

My car is a 17' SuperSport Camaro 6 speed, but I like what Dodge is doing.

The only thing I cannot really agree on with this package is the name. I am an owner of a 2010 Hemi Orange Challenger R/T. Calling this car the "Hemi Orange EDITION" isn't quite proper, though I do like that they are keeping the old names alive. This could have been a real opportunity to create a very rare car in the old Hemi Orange which would have been amazing. Apart from that small discrepancy, I love the car!

Got mine last year at this time. Drove it all winter. Kept it outside year round. No snows available in this size, but it ran ok with M&S tars
My only problem was trying to get the doors open when covered in ice. I had to leave the passenger window partially down at night to ensure the frigid air could escapecould e
I am not usually a fan of black out type or packages, but the challenger with the package and the orange highlights is sexy AF. I may have converted to Mustang from the way it drives and handles, but I still think the challenger is the best looking car in the segment!

Very nice car, only things I have to say they missed ok was not doing anything special with the horn decal or the gauges. They could have at least made them Hemi Orange to match.
