Maynard's one with the benefit of hindsight still seems so rare and peculiar as to be hard to judge. It's a very specific set of circumstances that I can't recall happening before. It might even be that we don't really see it again. I hope Brayshaw is okay, though. Apparently he is training again which seems dangerous, tbh, with his history. Pickett's hit on Cripps was ludicrous not to receive a harsher punishment. From what I could tell the blow broke his nose - and how did he managed to hit a bloke's face that much taller than him and *not* have it called high?!
I can't believe this, you think that the Kozzy bump was a good and fair bump, Cripps came off the field with a blood rule and a broken nose, he should not only be suspended for 4 weeks, he should be in prison for attempted murder!! i freakin hate how people can be so rough on the field and silly as-well. football is a contact sport however, no big bumps should hurt another human being. rightfully wrong by you pickett, shame on you!!!!
That Macrae hit is pissweak, ducked the head and flopped. Impact was minimal and Macrae pretty much incited it anyway. Nothing hard about it, just could've been bad because Flynn is so much bigger but Macrae would've brought it on himself in that case.
With Maynard I really don't like this one. I understand the going for the ball argument, but if Maynard has the time and forethought to brace the shoulder and the shoulder was high, that's more than Brayshaw got. Do I think it's worth a 3 week suspension? No. But I think if you want to deter this kind of contact a week is fair
The other point of view was that Brayshaw had already been concussed and seems to have therefore been slow to bring his head up. Had he looked earlier, he would have had time to take evasive action, even if it resulted in a more minor collision.
As a Pies fan I just hope Brayshaw is okay; I'm still nervous to hear he's back at training. It feels like he should retire with his history. DeGoey's was a total dog act, though. He's an idiot, no matter what his skills are.
Clean bump between Mansell, and Aish, but Mansell cops weeks .. they need to rectify this kind of thing heading into 2024, or the competition will continue to spiral.

Brayshaw could of made a split second decision to go left instead of leaning right, and into maynards path. BTW I agree with you, players can make split second decisions, but brayshaw was a dear in the headlights. I could of avoided that contact when I was young, he had all the time in the world.

If he somehow wound up falling into a team mate there is zero chance he KOs him. Totally agree that Maynard could have prevented the whole situation by putting his hands out. He saw an opportunity to put the shoulder through someone and did so
