Wow! I was blown away by the quality of your video, for many reasons stated by everyone on this comment section, but for me, mainly because of the photos, there are some great shots in there! If you could make a video on how to use some of the manual controls this cameras have that'll be amazing. I have a Contax T2 and I really want to make the most out of her while she's alive, so it'd be cool if you can explain a little bit about the aperture ring, exposure compensation and focal distance for certain situations. So informative Hashem 😊 I didn't know about modifying the DX code that's so cool! Great production value, and fantastic explanations. You're amazing babe ❤️
you genius! My point and shoot wasnt taking two new rolls and you said to clean the battery compartment because of battery corrosion.. and boom! its took the new film right away! Thanks so much!!
No probs! You can do this, but there's a chance that you'll get underexposed images since the camera's meter might still account for the flash. Additionally, the tape could risk melting eventually

I have a very unusual Vivitar twin 1000 point and shoot camera. Basically has two different lens positions. You can switch between a wide and telephoto lens. The unusual thing about is when you load the film the motor does not Advance automatically you actually have to press the shutter button a few times to get it to the number one position. I'm currently using it for the first time so I don't know what the results will be. Despite being a basic camera it can still read the DX codes.
My plastic piont and shoot starts winding the takeupspool like crazy when I open it. When I put film in it just turns the spoole and doesn't move the film at all. Has anyone a idea what is wrong.

Hi! i was having trouble with my camera but i finally fixed it thanks to your video! i just have a quick question, while i was trying to put the film in i took too much film out & went out the arrow so i just had to rewind it a little bit can i see use it? or is my pics not going to come out right?
If it was just a few centimeters or even inches, it'll still be fine. The camera had to pull a bunch out into the spool once you close the door anyway. So you should still get the amount of shots noted on the roll (eg 36 or 24)
Hey, is it right that only a DX film can load to the Olympus AF-1? Because I buy one from eBay and try to load it with a Kodak gold 200 and now after your video I am not sure it’s defect or just the wrong film, because it won’t load it. Best regards and greeting from Germany 🙋🏼♀️
Hey, it should be able to load Kodak gold. Most likely it is just having trouble loading film in general. Did you try the tips in the section of this video talking about loading? If they don't work after multiple attempts, sometimes the loading is simply faulty.
Such a helpful video just got my film camera in today and this video helped me load her up! Also I was wondering what film and camera you used for the shot of the beach? It’s a beautiful shot.
Hi. I have a 35mm camera, point and shoot, vey similar to the one in the video. It shoots and the flash is working, but it does not roll up the film. (There is no film inside it because I'm not sure if it works). It does not do the typical automatic sound when you shoot. I wonder if I need to put a roll of film to "activate" this mechanism or it's just broken (?). Thanks!
Thanks for such a great video. It’s been so helpful for a newbie like me! Do you have a recommendation on what room or how to keep your camera nice if you use a humidifier in your room that you keep your camera in? Will that be an issue?
Hey, thanks very much! I'm glad it was helpful. Keeping your camera in a room that has a humidifier running a lot may not be ideal long term. It could be worth keeping it in a container of some kind with some silica/desiccant packs, or in another dry place.
I just bought a second hand film camera and today i finally bought the right battery and took it to the park but then the film just didn’t work it kept showing 0... i wish i saw this vid earlier cuz now i came home and realized i probably (definitely) put the film in a wrong way :( what a good picnic day without the film cam! I have a question: can i open the back cover after i put the film in the camera? Is there like i shouldn’t expose to the light after i took pics and stuff... thanks!
Hey, sorry to hear! If you're sure its staying on 0 and hasn't loaded properly, you can open it up to reload. However, once a film is loaded properly and is advancing along normally, you shouldn't open the door until it's finished and rewound 🙂
Pushing Film hey thanks for you answer!! However... what happens to the part that we already exposed to light while we put it in the camera? Are the first few films not going to be actual picture but a exposed film? Or the camera manage to skip them by itself while we close the cover (sorry for many questions...) cuz when my mom showed me her manual film camera she said the first film will not show any picture so i should manually skip it (take some random pictures).
Thank you for the tips, this helps me so so much. But I have a problem :( I have an automatic point and shoot and I accidentally pushed the rewind button, how can I make this work on my camera? There are still 22 exp left :( Can I just go to a dark place, load the camera and shoot the first 14 photos I have and not adjust it manually at the fastest aperture? Does this still work?
Hi! I just got my 1st film camera (Olympus Stylus Zoom) and I just finished my first roll of film.. theres a rewind button on the bottom of the camera but I'm having trouble with it, it's not rewinding at all. What should I do?
Hey! That little button is for forcing the rewind manually (it can be hard to press, you might need a pen) However, the Stylus will automatically rewind when you reach the end of the film. Take a couple more shots and see if it does; 36 shot rolls can sometimes give you 38
@@pushingfilm i am also having the same problem! i don't have the E on the screen but instead i don't have the exposure counter showing after i loaded the film & the film is not advancing into the spool after taking multiple shots :(
Hello! My battery went dead and had to buy new battery for my point and shoot film camera. When I load my new battery, the film counter went back to 0. What caused this problem?
Loved this video! I have a question regarding my point and shoot film camera. I loaded the film and took 15 shots and suddenly it stopped taking pictures. Specifically it turns on (the green lights turns on) when I am in a dark place and it doesn't take pictures. When I am in a light place the green light doesn't even turn on and of course it doesn't take picture. That didn't hapen on the previous shots, the green light was always on when I opened the camera. It's my first experience on such kind of camera. Do you know what might be the problem?
Last year I found Mju1 at home and with the first film, it worked but with second film, it flashes E when I had left only about ten shots. I opened the back tried to roll up and down and everything, thought it wasn't put properly and ofc didn't work. But after months the counting has been resetted. When I click the shoot button it shows 2 and goes on. Does it mean if I develop the new shots it comes up two different shots in one frame or just blank or it is actually okay? I couldn't find my answer in elsewhere, so please should I just toss it or keep shooting and develop it? It is my first time with film cameras.
Hi, this a common fault that I've seen with Mju cameras, where the winding/counting acts up. There is no way for me to know for sure what shots would come come out in your case, sorry... So I guess if you do finish and develop the roll there will be a risk, but it's the only way to find out.
the video is very informative but I’m not sure if it’s my camera problem but when I load my film and press power it rewinds back into the canister instead :( what should I do?
Hi mate! Picked up an old point and shoot (AA battery type) went in and asked camera house if they could explain it to me and she wound the film in manually and my counter on top goes from “s” to “21” but seemed to stop quite quickly (around 3 seconds of winding the back wheel) Is this okay? Or have I just wasted a roll of Portra 😭😂

hey ! i thought that i had to look for a load button so by accident i clicked on the rewind button and now i don’t know what to do, can my film still be saved ? should i open the back in the dark ?
Ive been through plenty forums and flckr groups looking for an answer regarding pushing and pulling film on the olympus xa2, hope someone reads this and help a brother out. Due to the nature of the olympus xa2 and its aperture priority mode, if im shooting 400 asa film on a bright sunny day and then i switch to an indoor low light situation, shoot 5 frames at 800 and then go back to sunny conditions, (back to boxspeed) should i develop at 400 or 800?
Nope, it'll be fine. When you put the new batteries in, it'll resume from where you last left off. Most cameras have a secondary battery for keeping track of the shots taken.
@@putrizulaikha9964 It won't reset. It'll continue from the last shot you took before removing the batteries. If you took 10 shots on a roll and took out the batteries, when you put the batteries back in, the camera will simply resume from shot 11. The film won't advance or rewind.
I still haven’t figured out the reason why my camera does this, but i put a new film roll in so it says 1 on the lcd but then a couple minutes later, it says 0 and so I pick it up and it starts winding to 1 again. Do you know the reason for this? Is the camera faulty?
No, just let you choose between turning the flash on and off. I did not find any information about the camera, the model is "Lito 30 motor drive" and say in front lens made in japon.
@@pablo2971 it might be safest then to use any roll of 400 ISO film, and use the flash when indoors or very low light. See how you go with that as a test 🙂
okay I have an urgent question guys!! I have Yashica EZ VİEW 35mm point and shoot camera. And I do not know how to close flash!!! I mean there are auto flash and normal flash mode, that's it!! but I am in the outside and even there is no cloud in the sky still it activates the flash! Please help me how to close flash?? (ps. if I am getting out the batteries it cannot work)
Hey. I've never used this camera, but looking it up online there seems to be a switch on the front for the flash which has an "OFF" option... perhaps your's is different? Unfortunately, some point and shoot cameras don't let you disable the flash at all.
I already took 20 photos and then my camera starts ringing and the flim count keeps dropping till one . So did i lose the one i shot before ? How do i fix that error ? Thank you in advance tho
Hi just wondering if u would no if this okay or not??? (all good if you have no idea ahaha) so I inserted my roll of film into my camera however it made a long wiring sound, so i went into a dark room to check it and it had rewound back into the camera. I just pulled the film out again and it seems fine have i ruined the film?? thankyou so much if u have no clue that’s totally fine ❤️❤️
Hey, really can't be sure! But, when you opened the camera, how much of the film was sticking out of the canister? if it was only a couple of inches it sounds like the camera simply failed to load, and you're totally good to just load it again with nothing ruined at all!

Due to the nature of the olympus xa2 and its aperture priority mode, if im shooting 400 asa film on a bright sunny day and then i switch to an indoor low light situation, shoot 5 frames at 800 and then go back to sunny conditions, (back to boxspeed) should i develop at 400 or 800?
if currently have 12/36 exp. on my film cam. if i remove the bettery, will it reset back to 0 or 1?
Most I've used won't, especially if they have a smaller internal battery
@@pushingfilm i have olympus af1 twin. do you know if that one will reset back?
I don't know which film I shld buy for my nikon af230?🙄
can i remove my batteries when there’s a roll in the camera? will it affect the film roll?
Nope, it'll be fine. When you put the new batteries in, it'll resume from where you last left off. Most cameras have a secondary battery for keeping track of the shots taken.
That's right! even though some cameras may not have the feature, I'm yet to encounter one that doesnt allow you to do this.
photos on film it won’t affect the roll even when the frame counter reset at 1?
@@putrizulaikha9964 It won't reset. It'll continue from the last shot you took before removing the batteries. If you took 10 shots on a roll and took out the batteries, when you put the batteries back in, the camera will simply resume from shot 11. The film won't advance or rewind.
photos on film perfect! thank you so much for your help ☺️
I still haven’t figured out the reason why my camera does this, but i put a new film roll in so it says 1 on the lcd but then a couple minutes later, it says 0 and so I pick it up and it starts winding to 1 again. Do you know the reason for this? Is the camera faulty?
It’s the Pentax IQZOOM 160 btw
Also, before this, It worked throughout the whole film roll that I finished.
Hey, I cant know for sure but my best guess would be that it's a fault with the camera
I really need a point and shoot
Men my camara doesn't have DX:( Anyone know what film can I use?
Does the camera have any ISO selection options?
No, just let you choose between turning the flash on and off. I did not find any information about the camera, the model is "Lito 30 motor drive" and say in front lens made in japon.
@@pablo2971 it might be safest then to use any roll of 400 ISO film, and use the flash when indoors or very low light. See how you go with that as a test 🙂
@@pushingfilm Thankss;) i will prove it that way
where do you buy your affordable point and shoot cameras here in Australia?
To be honest I've only ever bought them from opshops and markets, with a couple of exceptions on eBay
Hihi!! If I use a point shoot camera, can I see the photos I had taken with the camera in the camera?
Hey, only if you use a digital one!
okay I have an urgent question guys!!
I just tried to load my new camera and accidentally rolled the film back up, can I still use the roll or film?
Yes you can!
@@pushingfilm how do I use it again after that happens?

I already took 20 photos and then my camera starts ringing and the flim count keeps dropping till one .
So did i lose the one i shot before ?
How do i fix that error ?
Thank you in advance tho
Hey, I can't know for sure but it sounds like your camera has a malfunction where it rewinds the roll too early. I've seen these on a few occasions.
@@pushingfilm So do i lose the one i shot before ?
btw , thank you for answering
@@yummyyanyan6147 probably not, but I can't know for sure, sorry!
Hi just wondering if u would no if this okay or not??? (all good if you have no idea ahaha)
so I inserted my roll of film into my camera however it made a long wiring sound, so i went into a dark room to check it and it had rewound back into the camera.
@@pushingfilm yep it was just a couple of inches. thank you so much xx
This was incredibly informative, thank you!
