I understand loneliness and hope you are OK, but here's where you went wrong.
    1) Tinder, Bumble, and Colombian Cupid are NOT the place to meet women. Can you meet them? Yes, but stay off the dating apps.
    2) Once you see that she has brought a friend, run the other way, make an excuse to leave and get out of there. One female occupies you with conversation and blah blah, and the other gets you with the drug. You can't watch them both. Trust me!
    3) Do not let them choose the place of eatery, bar or whatever.
    4) NEVER let them order your ride. You don't know who they call (boyfriend, gang ring leader).
This happens far too often for those who don't know the simple signs.

@@rongendron142 to date someone really authentically in that country. You have to live in that counter for a minimum 4 months to 1 year. You have to meet people through activities and friends such as church, salsa dance classes, or language exchanges and you have to give the damn thing time. That is to find normal girls. The level of the classes goes by Estrada. Estrada 1 and Estrada 2 is low class. Estrada 3-4 are some regular jobs like a clerk to maybe a dentist to dental assistant. Estrada 5 and 6 they don’t touch foreigners. Those are the high class females. But with this stuff I heard from a TH-camr Ulysses Traveler on finding a mate and getting a normal girl in Estrada 3-4 can all be nullified at any given money because some of those Estrada 3 and 4 chicks can also ask for money as well. Or they can play the long game and get into an argument and either extort you or scope you. So in the end those steps I mentioned on getting a normal girl can work but the persistence and staying in that country doesn’t seem worth it. So you are just stuck going there on a 7 day trip you are stuck with the working girls. Not with the investment to me. Just saying.

Even more important than that, never carry a phone in the street with access to ALL of your money. They don't even need a hot girl to drug you if they want access to your funds. People get pushed into vans at gunpoint all the time in Colombia. You'll get driven from ATM to ATM for a few days while they drain your accounts, as well as any crypto or other accounts they can drain directly through having your unlocked phone.
The phone you carry on the street (especially when meeting strangers) should not have access to your funds, email accounts, or google/apple accounts. One can never avoid crime forever, but you CAN make the experience way less catastrophic by preparing yourself before arriving.

You are extremely lucky to still be with us so many have been drugged robbed and murdered in Colombia . Poverty had driven a lot of locals to do desperate things. I personally know a person who went through a similar experience he was given a lethal dose of scopolamine he was bedridden for months until he finally passed away just two months ago . He was happily married to a Colombian and wasn’t even looking for female company apparently his drink was drugged in a bar by a member of staff , It’s not just working girls doing this nearly everyone from all walks of life are aware of the vast amounts that can be made from gullible foreigners coming to Colombia it’s a huge business I’d even say bigger than the drug industry . Even locals are falling victim . I would advise against anyone visiting Colombia for tourism purposes for the foreseeable future until this thing is brought under control .

I'm very glad that you're now okay. I live in Boston. I will share 2 things. A former co-worker here in Boston, who is from Medellin, once told me something very interesting. He and his son went to Medellin for vacation. At one point they stayed at a hotel for a night. The next day they left. They took a cab. On their cab ride, they got stopped by these guys with guns. They ordered my co-worker to hand over whatever money he had. He complied. They then took off. My co-worker is convinced that someone in the hotel knew that they travelled from America and therefore supposedly had money. This person then tipped off the robbers who waited for him. Here's the second story. I know another Colombian here in Boston. She's in her late 50s or early 60s. The other day I mentioned to her about the tourists who are getting drugged in Medellin, her hometown. You know what she said? "Good for them, why are they going to pick up those women?" It felt really cold for her to say that but I wonder who else feels that way in Colombia? I have always wanted to visit Colombia but that has changed. Brazil, where I've also always wanted to go, remains on my plans.

We were robbed in Rome: My purse with cellular and passports, credit cards, etc. There were another 5 cases filing reports to the police. cases that had just happened There is crime everywhere in the world. There is crime even in Nordic countries. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Venezuelan immigrants in Colombia, who became gangs perpetrating these crimes targeting foreigners. You cannot judge an entire country for just some isolated cases. You cannot go out with strangers, especially working women, which are very easy to spot based on the way they dress and behave. Those foolish men just meet their naivety. And this can happen anywhere in the world.

@@inolvidable. I've been twice to Colombia before COVID, great experience! But since then, these scopo-robberies have apparently increased dramatically, judging by the number of video testimonies in recent months. When I was there it was also something I was warned about. I took precautions like abandoning an almost full beer in a bar when I was separated from it for 15 seconds, whilst talking to a girl I just met. And only buying bottled drinks. But at the end of the day, you can only lower the chance, you can't eliminate it. Even more so now.
For me, I'm just not going back to Colombia in the foreseeable future. There are many countries in LATAM, few are European-level safe, but Colombia just has to get it's act back together before I return. It's a question of bad economy and unsolved internal problems, which increases overall crime. It's not something specific to foreigners.

I had an extra bank card with limited founds on, this was stolen in Peru. So I only had one card left. The apps are necessary to use for my to acces anything back home while travelling. I did have a extra phone with me, sadly this evening out of all evening my extra phone had run low, I had no battery pack, so not to be out without a phone I took both phones so I could swap Sim cards. I would not normally do this, I would always have them fully charged before going out. So yes it was not the best idea. And was just bad luck this happend that evening.
But yes I would also recommend people to have a extra card at home or in the hostel and have and extra cheap phone for night out.
This does not mean you are 100% safe though. And you can't plan for everything that can happen. We can only all do our best.

@@blackbearspirit9831 It would've been the Red Bull. They use scopolamine [Dragon's Breath], which is made from a local plant, and it takes effect within seconds. It makes the victim compliant, working like a truth serum drug, so they easily cooperate...readily giving out their pin numbers etc, and then blackout and not remember a thing.
In one youtube vid I saw, the leader of a gang of 8 girls, showed the interviewer a tiny room they lock victims in for upto 4 days, while they drain their cards at ATMs. It's horrifying. Too much of the drug can turn people into living 'zombies' and easily cause death.
