I have been driving an 1105 lately slashing. Virtually the same tractor probably but it has the turbo 354 Perkins. Like going back to the 70s, at least they had a cab even if it was an after thought. The PTO on it won’t disengage though but it doesn’t howl like yours Nick. The multi power is a strange thing, no engine braking in low. Alright if you don’t have hills but look out if you do.

nice 1155, both pto and multi power control valves on the dash have the same oil supply, your pto works so i would say its the clutch pack in the front part of the tranny is the issue. splittin the tractor to fix that. you could have leakby at the the valve if your pto spins when the lever is off
Usually what happens to the multi power clutch pack is the splines get stripped due to rock back as the overrun clutch locks when the tractor goes in the opposite direction to the gear it’s in so if you are pulling a chisel plow breaking sod or a tow cable or rope use or shift to low before stopping to avoid killing the clutch pack. I’ve been running the 1100 series tractors since the sixties and I have only killed one multi power pulling a chisel plow breaking sod. Logged 70000 hours on the fleet
Oh and the parking pawl is damaged or the gear on the pinion shaft is or both best to leave it out of park that’s caused by putting it in park while it’s still moving
You may want to replace the rear cab mount rubber bushings as the rubber gets rotten and steal touches steel and you get a lot of noise from the rear end and pto
