Koper / Capodistria Marina, Slovenia ~ 4K Virtual Travel

Koper or Capodistria is the largest Slovenian costal town and the second largest town of Istria. It has the only Slovenian port ''Luka Koper'' (Port of Koper) which is an important geostrategic point for trade and transport. Koper used to be an island in the past and was connected with the land in 19th century. The name Capodistria (Koper in Slovenian language) derives from the times when the area was under the rule of Venetians, who named the settlement Capo d'Istria (Head of Istria). Koper also hosts one of the Slovenian universities (besides Ljubljana and Maribor).
