STORYLINE:
The Taliban celebrated the third anniversary of its return to power at a former U.S. air base in Afghanistan on Wednesday, but there was no mention of the country’s hardships or promises of hope for the struggling population.
The Bagram parade was also an opportunity to showcase some of the military hardware abandoned by U.S. and NATO-led forces after decades of war: helicopters, Humvees and tanks.
The Bagram parade was the Taliban’s grandest and most defiant since regaining control of the country in August 2021.
The audience of some 10,000 men included senior Taliban officials such as Acting Defense Minister Mullah Yaqoob and Acting Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani. Supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada was not at the parade. Women were barred.

The US spent 85 Billion on the Afghan national army, All of their gear and equipment now belongs to the Taliban, On top of that the US and NATO left behind tons of their equipment as well the grand total could easily be above 100 billion. The US alone lost around 2 Million pieces of equipment throughout the War in Afghanistan that ranges from Rifles to Armored vehicles. And the vast majority was captured by the Taliban

Look at those vehicles, they’re all newly painted. This is all for show. The US spent 20 years in Afghanistan and $83 billion supplying an army of 300,000 people.
Notice a lot of that stuff is on trucks not moving because they don’t have spare parts. Once One of those vehicles stop moving it’s not good anymore. And they don’t have any ammunition for the weapons or the rocket launchers. I just wish Republicans would stop falling for this.
