That last glaze was like magic! Just lovely!
Sooooo beautiful. Well done! Thanks again 😊
Yellow roses are my favorite.....thanks for the great tutorial Louise!!
You’re welcome. Thank you Deborah. 😊
Absolutely loved your yellow rose and your bloopers gave me many smiles. Thank you so much. Cheers.
Oh Louise! You are finally in your gorgeous studio! Congratulations! It’s been a long time coming and you have been patient and both you and Dom have worked so hard to bring your dream to life! As for your rose…stunning! When your initial wash went all over your rose I gasped! So bold and yet it turned out so beautifully! I love your yellow rose. I wondered when I saw it nearly completed about where the yellow was. But in true fashion you brought the yellow to life! Your maiden painting is gorgeous. Oh, By the way, I love your “back ground music”! LOL!!! Create away, Louise! You and your paints and brushes are finally home! God bless you and your studio!♥️
I was unsure about the brown, but that last glaze of trans yellow really pulled it together. I love it and am inspired to try. Roses are difficult for me to draw.
Awesome as always!
I just sign up for Skillshare! I’m happy and excited! I needed this push but being a PRN ( Nurse) I know I will have more sleepless nights, but you know what? If I don’t push myself who will? I will see you there. By the way, your studio looks fabulous! Congratulations on your birthday and on the studio build by you two!wow!
Wow. Your talent is something to behold.
Absolutely beautiful.
jajajaja... Love your "stidio"... jajajaja... and the fly! You're great! Love your job, and of course, congratulatios for your new studio! I'll be waiting for your next video! Thank you very much!
Lol....Thank you Horacio.
You are the best watercolor teacher I have ever seen and you are hilarious 😂. Thank you so much 🥰

My favorite subject to paint is roses. Love these yellow 💛 roses! I love watching you and value a wonderful teacher, thank you:)
Thanks very much Rachel.
Beautiful video! I loved it! I cannot wait to see your new studio, I’m so happy for you to have it! I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been distracted by flowers and have had to stop what I’m painting to paint them instead- I’m glad to see someone else with the same “problem”!
I always enjoy your out-takes at the end🙄🦟😂
So excited to see your new studio!!!
Love the rose, your studio looks fab, and you absolutely crack me up with your outtakes at the end 😂💖
The rose is just glowing...beautiful. This video really highlights the effect of hard edges. I've been so focused on softening everything that I forget how important hard edges can be in suggesting shadow in strong sunlight. Thanks for another great video.
Gorgeous painting a beautifully explained. Thank you Louise!
Nice, inspiring and generous explanations! Thank you, Louise De Masi!
You're very welcome. Thank you Celso.
Beautiful orange rose 🌹. Thanks for bringing in this beautiful bright ☀️and so softly rose.....making this beautiful morning even brighter☀️. It’s wonderful seeing you work in your new studio.....and I am looking forward for more. Have a wonderful and peaceful day Louise💞💗

WoW!!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks so much Louise. It always amazes me how much I dont see until I watch your videos. When I look at a yellow rose all I see are various shades of yellow HA!! I look forward to seeing you do some drawing, its my favourite part of art...that fine detail which of ciurse goes against what you continually tell us "dont get bogged down by the fine detail"...oops🤭🤭🤭🙏 cheersfrom the west x
I love your glazes and how they brighten and unify! 🤗
Beautiful rose. You’re amazing.
Thanks very much Dale.
You really are so very talented. The rose is one of the best I have seen. Cheers & thanks for sharing your talent 😊❤️😘😍💕🥰

Happy belated birthday! 🎉 Those roses are beautiful. Yellow are my favorite. I am really looking forward to the studio tour. I hope to see the rose painting on a wall.
...Obviously, she is a master of her craft.
Belated Birthday wishes Louise.May you be inspired all the time and keep us inspiring too.
Thank you Louise for the Beautiful rose, such a cheerful picture, and a great way to save a lovely gift, but also the lesson itself is a great way for us learners to understand watercolour painting and how to apply it, and with such a limited pallet makes it so much easier to follow, there is sooooooo much information in your videos...Then to top it off, you give a fun insight into just how hard it is to make these videos, what with the flies and toung ties...All in all a a very informative and entertaining video....Can't wait to see your video of the (well deserved) finished studio....THANKS AGAIN.
You are amazing my sweet sister! I love your work.
Beautiful rose! Please give us a tour of your finished studio…I’m sure the rest of your followers, like me, can’t wait to see it!
Just beautiful !
A wonderful video, Louise! Your rose painting is exquisite! Thanks you so much!🥰Love the out takes!!! I know, frustrating for you maybe, entertaining for us! Lol!🤣
Happy late birthday!!! and LOVE the bloopers!!!!!
Thanks for the tips! I’m painting a wedding bouquet right now and it’s very tricky. I’m used to painting and drawing animals, not flowers!
So lovely Louise!
Happy birthday, Louise🌹. So excited for you to be in your new studio😊. And cannot wait to see it. This tutorial looks like something I need, thanks.

Beautiful.
What a beautiful Rose Louise! I often struggle with shadow colours for orange/ yellow flowers so this was really useful. I also love your outtakes and this one had me laughing out load at the buzzing insect 🤣… can’t wait for your studio tour! Take care 😊💜

Thank you Shelly. Yes it's coming to Patreon.
Lovely
Gorgeous rose! And I love the outtakes as much as the invaluable instruction. Lol! I’d like to try the Skillshare, but they wanted credit card info just to try the free month, so no thanks…
It would be very helpful to show the subject as you paint it. Thanks.
So amazing,....😍🥰😘🤩
It’s beautiful but i hope you are doing those seagulls as a Patreon tutorial 🥰
I am! Thanks Joy.
I love your out takes as much as your stunning paintings. The pace at which you deliver your videos is just right 🧡 May I ask what kind of pencil do you use for the illustrations before painting? And do you erase after?
Thank you Nadeane. Usually a soft graphite. I scribble it over the back of my line drawing and trace it on. Sometimes, if I'm lazy I'll use transfer paper instead of the graphite. I make sure the lines aren't too dark before I start painting.
Try a Sturt desert pea
As always, lovely video! You must get tones of messages but, can you tell me what hardness/softness of pencil you use for your underdrawing? And, do you erase at all?😘
Thank you Monica. I use an HB graphite pencil usually. Sometimes I'll use transfer paper to trace my line drawing onto the paper. I lighten it before I start as much as I can. Once the paint goes over the graphite you can't really remove it properly.
Such a lovely painting. Are you using hot press, or cold? I still haven't decided which I like better. Any thoughts?
Will this be on Patreon? Please.......
👌👌👌👌👌
Hallo Louise, is there any chance to get a Giraffe painting as a print in your shop? Maybe the one behind you or one with just one giraffe? I would love to have it as a gift for a friend. By the way. I am still waiting for the time, when you will release a book with a huge selection of your art. I would love to own such an art book. botanicals, animals, whatever you paint
Did you mention in one of your videos, which brushes you use? I think so, but I cannot find it.
I love Da Vinci Maestros series 35.
@@LouiseDeMasi Thank you
Can you tell me the brand and size of brushes you used. I’m new and I want reasonable brushes that I can order online. Thanks
I use Da Vinci Maestro brushes series 35. #0, #2,#5, #8 are sizes I use regularly.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤗
Hi .... yesterday I tried sticking watercolour paper with matte medium onto a balsawood panel...and dried it ..it didn't buckle at all despite doing wet on wet
That's a great way to paint. If you get the cradled boards with the sides it saves you having to frame the painting. You can varnish/wax the painting to protect it instead.
Have you ever painted a blue poppy?
This is really lovely but I keep wishing it had a deep blue background.
Thank you! Oooh that sounds lovely!
You never said if your hubby is better now
I think I mentioned it in another video. He's fine now and up and down ladders all the time. Thank you so much for checking Judi.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
