Good tips man :) i caught a pike yesterday, a beautiful jack.. If i may add, during cold water retrieve should be slow and lures pretty big, also plenty of pauses.Faster, more agressive retrieve in the summer and a bit smaller baits. Yesterdays jack was caught with a 19cm 4play, he bit it when i paused my retrieve.
Thanks for the tip, I'm new to fishing and I've been going out twice a day at about 7am but I've only ever caught 3 rainbow trout which were around 5-7 pounds, but my knowledge of fishing is really lacking lol.
I always enjoy your videos, thanks for taking the time to make them and for posting them. This video is especially useful for newcomers to pike fishing (Like me) and even though many of the tips you have given are (To an extent) common sense many newcomers need to be told these sort of things in order for them to get out and start catching pike, there must be nothing more off putting for a newcomer than going out and not catching their first pike through lack of knowledge! Please keep the videos coming, they are a pleasure to watch!
Hi DanI look forward to all your videosI think your tip 10 is important If the fishing is tough you have to keep goingAnd keep getting outYou will not catch them at home Jim
Heey man! I know you don't have a lot of subs (even though I am one of the lucky guys to be subscribed) but you'll get there because your video's are amazing to watch to and it is really helpfull in real life. I tried your tips today and caught 14 pike in one day! A new record (last one 11). I just wan't to say that I love what you do man! So keep up the good work! that won't be to hard cus there is no bad work haha 👍🏻👌🏻
Good tips but the key is finding water that holds a lot of pike. How do you look for places to fish? I find it hard to find out who the water that looks good belongs to. You cant just go somewhere far without knowing whose is it, how much and where to pay. Could you recommend some waters or at least fishing assotiations in Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cheshire with good pike waters?
i learned something from first nation people, i go near the shore and i take a peace of wood or a branch and i beat the water, i make a lots of noise for a good 30seconds and then i cast, i catch bigger ones by doing this. the big one are curious specially if there hungry. try it you will see. it works for bass too. this is no bs
Btw. Why I didnt catch a single pike today? I was using jerk lures and spinnerbaits..I fished for 5 hours near the weeds. My technique is a slow non stop retrieve. The lake is full of pikes...
Did the same thing yesterday got a 20 incher and a follow from one other about the same size. Last weekend right outside of the weed beds in a bit deeper section i got a 39 inch pike
I'm not saying your a bad fishermen I know I've told you but when you have a bite you want to swing your pole back to hook them if you reel in without doing that you. Will barely hook them I noticed that in the savage mouse video I enjoy your channel also good job with the video not really use to catching pike more bass and gars
there will be those days when they won't take anything, usually after 2 days of no activity they will start feeding again, still easier to catch than zander
harvey media lol I'm 8 months late but on some waters like my clubs have a season starting 1st October and ending in April or may or sometime. It's to do with the oxygen levels in the water since pike are pretty delicate.
harvey media I'll join the late crew by saying you should check your local fishing & hunting guide. No one here is going to be able to give you an accurate answer since the seasons vary depending on your location.
Ive lost around £40 worth of lures since last summer. Its annoying as fuck isnt it? I river pike fish a lot and the floods change the bottom so you cant help loose lures. I once snagged a tree on the back cast and didnt realize and i snapped my expensive rod lol.
Tip number 11: Never wear a Christmas Jumper in the Summer 🤣
Lol 🤣👍
😆

Spot on tips. May seem like common sense, but easy to forget these when you are struggling and having an off day.

Pike bite very aggressively do you don’t need to set the hook too much
there will be those days when they won't take anything, usually after 2 days of no activity they will start feeding again, still easier to catch than zander

Can u pike fish all year round
harvey media lol I'm 8 months late but on some waters like my clubs have a season starting 1st October and ending in April or may or sometime. It's to do with the oxygen levels in the water since pike are pretty delicate.
Im late too but in the netherlands they have a rule not to pike in spring, so the pike can mate without getting caught
harvey media I'll join the late crew by saying you should check your local fishing & hunting guide. No one here is going to be able to give you an accurate answer since the seasons vary depending on your location.
Even later tip: use spinerbaits in the summer with a quick aggressive reel&stop
I can in Scotland, there’s no closed season.
Love to meet up and do a session
DB Fishing maybe
hey DB, Im real annoyed cause im after loosing my 30cm 3d trout in a tree😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭
using a reel? using no nylon? nylon can stretch and breaks faster than braided.
Ive lost around £40 worth of lures since last summer. Its annoying as fuck isnt it? I river pike fish a lot and the floods change the bottom so you cant help loose lures. I once snagged a tree on the back cast and didnt realize and i snapped my expensive rod lol.
