Sure there are mages and magic but it's incredibly rare and insanely dangerous. Yes there are vampires and werewolves but mostly in their respective regions. I skipped a lot to keep things simple for new folks, and pointed people towards the realmgate videos to cover the fate of the realms. As for Blightwar, it was a great box set, not a grand and overarching narrative like the Realmgate wars and Soul Wars
Oh, so this has nothing to do with warhammer fantasy. What happened to the old world? I didn’t realized sigmar was an actual god. When did this age of sigmar happened in comparison to the old world?
I believe it's inferred he doesn't remember anything. Really only the other gods seemed to remember, though perhaps not alarielle. They absolutely had to spend a lot of time remembering what they were about, so chaos popping up was probably something they didn't think, or forgot, would happen so suddenly after all this time.
I suspect most of the gods don't have clear memories of the Old World either - in Josh Reynold's books it often says how Nagash has, at best, fragmented memories of his past.
The story so far: the old world was a beautiful complex world full of extraordinary cultures, stories, and characters. Then the Great Warlord fd up and destroyed it all. Now, warhammer is full of spacemarines
You missed a bit let me help you. It is also full of holes, shitty writing, restriction unoriginal reality copy pastes and being held back by old writing. Coming from a fantasy fan.
help me out, please. I know pretty much nothing about the lore and this video was very enlightening. But I have a doubt: is this setting the same for the original Warhammer miniature game? All I know of the lore is from playing a little bit of Vermintide and there was already mentions of Sigmar and many other aspects. Was that story in the same timeline as Age of Sigmar?
Francisco Wagner Vermintide is set in the Old World which was the setting for the game Warhammer Fantasy. The Old World was destroyed in an event called the End Times. Age of Sigmar is what happens to the universe after the End Times.

hello i am just diving into Warhammer all together im excited
You didnt Mention the Blight Wars and Wich Realm is under wich Rule.
I was never really into WH fantasy and i didnt even know about Age of Sigmar until quite recently. Is there any realation in the lore between the two?
Yes. Age of sigmar is the result of Archaon heralding the end times and bringing the destruction of the entire world of warhammer fantasy.
@@BarokaiRein So it's somewhat of a spin off in the distant future of WH Fantasy.
RIP warhammer fantasy
After what happened to the Old World its a bit odd that Sigmar did not prepair for Chaos.
So AoS problems caused by
1.Chaos
2. Nagash
3. More Nagash
- probably more Nagash
Is there going to be a part two talking about the new book that just came out?
There will be! I hope to get it out next week!
@@2Tough awesome can't wait!
Did Vermintide happen at the end of the age of chaos?
The story so far: the old world was a beautiful complex world full of extraordinary cultures, stories, and characters. Then the Great Warlord fd up and destroyed it all. Now, warhammer is full of spacemarines
I mean have you looked at any of the new models, they are actually pretty good, but I do admit I'm just not a fan of the world this is set in.
Still not sold.
Loved this...
Just purchased the rise of Negash book and I love him already. .....technically we can blame the skaven? :D lol
