True story here. Just after this came out, I was in the Marine Corps, we were on a Navy aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean at a port in France. We were in the hanger working on an aircraft and my buddy put in AC DC Thunderstruck in the boombox. We had it very loud too. A group of France citizens were touring the ship and came upon us while we were rocking out and doing our best imitation of the group on the aircraft, they stopped and was watching in amazement as we were acting out all the parts of the band. When the song finished, they stood there giving us a standing ovation with cheers and claps, it was AMAZING! I'll never forget that day in 1990. This music was ELECTRIFYING!!

Wow! That really is a fantastic and unique experience with ACDC music, encompassing so much, including your service for America and the Free World, your enjoyment of the freedom of rock music which Pax-Americana guarantees, the approval by the French visitors who also know your-America's place in history during the past 77 years of no world wars thanks to Pax-Americana. What a terrific memory! Thanks for sharing it!

What amazed me was that opening guitar lick. To me, it sounded like two guitars, and then you look, and Angus is playing it ONE-HANDED! (ʘ_ʘ) Then you have the great drumming, Malcolm's rhythm, and then Brian breaks open the gates of hell with his vocals. In 1981, I was in Atlanta before this came out, but I saw their "For Those About To Rock" concert at the Omni, and they blew the ROOF off that place! I was in the chairs, 8 rows from stage, center. They began with a giant brass bell being lowered from the ceiling, and Angus is making the "BONGS" on the thing by hitting it with his guitar! Then about half-way through. Angus gets on Brian and Malcolm's shoulder and they CARRY HIM THROUGH the audience there on the floor while ANGUS jams this EPIC guitar solo like: a) There's no tomorrow and b) He's the reason why. BUT, the crowd gave the band total respect! They carried Angus all through us on the floor there and nobody reached out or got in the way or touched or grabbed at them or interfered in any way! Try that today, Earthlings! Not happening, because the youngsters don't know how to behave. The best concert ever.

You said how you always switched to other channel when this music would play on tv. I on the other hand knew who AC/DC were, obviously born in 1983, and they are huge well known band for many years. But i never actually listened to them, all i knew was that they have this singer with very iconic voice.
Yesterday i for the first time sat and listened to thunderstruck from start to finish on youtube. Man i was blown away, and ended watching different reaction videos for 2 hours straight and continued today. I listened to Metallica, Marilyn Manson and so on, i was so wrong for missing this.
The energy of the song is just unbelievable, my whole body gets chills, i fell like i am possessed, like i could do anything (perfect song to listen while working out), cannot stop listening. I also watched the concert at River Plate and i was sooo jealous of those people that were there, i just lying on my bad watching on monitor was in ecstasy while watching and listening to the concert, imagine how they felt listening to them alive, must be like an out of body experience or something similar.

See their 2009 concert, live at the River Plate. Akka Dakka came from the 1970's pubs of Australia where you had to play hard to be heard over the crowds. Angus is a rock-god; he and his brother Malcolm are from Oz rock n roll royalty. Their older brother George Young was a member of the 60's band the Easy Beats - "Friday on My Mind". George Young and Harry Vander produced some of the early AC/DC hits. Dire Straits wrote a song about Malcolm Young and Harry Vander, "Sultans of Swing" .. .. "You check out Guitar George, he knows all the chords, Mind, he's strictly rhythm, he doesn't want to make it cry or sing ... and Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene He's got a daytime job, he's doing alright ..."

Go HarriB! This music will get thru Covid. That energy will get us all through this mess. Yes, it is ecstasy for sure and if only we could all go to a live show together, asap! Brian Johnson (singer) has always had this vocal range and, when he lost his hearing for a while, he found someone (rather, a guy found him!) together, they developed a prosthetic hearing device so he can now hear properly and he regained his usual OTT pitch. What a come back, what an inspiration! Play it loud HarriB, play it loud!

Has a Mother recently deceased sadly, who I saw at the age of 72 doing dishes and dancing to Jailbreak with the original singer WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY back in the day Bon Scot, Mom comes into the living room walk over to the stereo dial the volume up to as max as she can get without blowing the speakers turns to see my shocked expression Mom " What you think my daughter got her taste in music by herself?," Me( Raised in conservative catholic family)"AHH well noo..." Mom " Hell No!, Wait til ya see my tattoo!!!" my wife fell off her chair laughing at me...lol R.I.P. Mom. She raised one Helluva daughter and we both hope your dancing with all the greats......where ever they are.
