- Valkenburg Is A Extremely Popular Sightseeing Destination In The Netherlands
Valkenburg aan de Geul is a small community which has been a regular magnet for tourists for ages. People come here to discover the mines and caves with paintings, which date back to the days of the Romans; another attraction is Valkenburg Castle, from which you can see the attractive landscape of Limburg.
Where is Valkenburg?
The name of Valkenburg aan de Geul explains everything: Valkenburg is located by the Geul, a small river in the province of Limburg, down in the south of the Netherlands and not far from Maastricht. A visit to the Limburg city of Maastricht can therefore easily be combined with a trip to Valkenburg. The train will take you from one place to another in only eleven minutes. Traveling by train is also a great choice because Valkenburg Station is one of the oldest stations in the Netherlands. However, you can also easily manage the short distance of 11 km between the two Limburg towns.
Sightseeing in Valkenburg:
Valkenburg is an extremely popular sightseeing destination. People come for the famous caves (see below), the castle ruins and the lovely restaurants and cafes. There's one restaurant in a particularly appealing location at the foot of the castle ruins: Restaurant De Haselderhof offers a marvelous view over the small town of Valkenburg. Ideal for drinking a coffee before or after looking around the hill castle, and then a piece of the famous cake known as Vlaai to eat. Incidentally, the area around Valkenburg is also known for its wine. You can buy this and many other specialties, souvenirs, books and clothes in the pretty shops in the center of Valkenburg.
The only hill castle in the Netherlands stands enthroned over Valkenburg. The castle, with a history dating back to the 11th century, only consists of remains today, but opens onto a fantastic panoramic view over the town of Valkenburg.

@@SergeCousineau Thank you Hélène & Serge !! it was a hot sunny day maybe the colors are off ;) i record this place twice ! and this is the final edit pff edit 8K is very hard adobe premiere crashes 100 times . . . i think i need a 24 core processor and 256gb ram memory ;) i was testing my rented Rode Stereo VideoMic X. . . they are sold out everywhere :( i hope to get one on 12 July they told me the mic is back in stock ! so no clipping audio again :D and the quality is very very good ! and yes over 100K almost 1 mln hehe have a great weekend mark,

@@SergeCousineau if you buy a new camera wait for the Sony A7IV i think it will have 10bit colors and 4K 60P ! My rode video micro the audio always clips . . popping sound very annoying. . . . I like to invest in better quality audio and video ;) everything needs to be perfect ;) i'm a perfectionist hehe you need to be differend and better than other channels. . .i think it works ^^

For your information- when the dutch traded slaves, Limburg, the province Valkenburg is located in, was not yet part of the Netherlands. That happened about two centuries later.

I may be a bit biased because I live in Valkenburg, but I definitely think you should. There are a lot of lovely hiking routes here that show you what nature looks like here in the south of The Netherlands. (It's quite different then the rest of the country) And if you would like to go to a big city, Maastricht is a 10/15 min ride by car. 😊

Veel jeugdsentiment maar ook op latere leeftijd. Menig vakantie in binnenland gehouden in Valkenburg. In het hotel van Jan en Lisa, wat niet meer bestaat. Hotel Tummers bij het treinstation. En dan de rodelbaan. Veel toeristische winkeltjes en de griek gevestigd in de kerk. Mooi sentiment.
Was inderdaad gaaf, en een wipje maken bij Ger. De drie meiden waren niet heel mooi maar het was goed genoeg voor zestig gulden als ik het me goed herinner

Even in metropolitan areas different sounds of chirping birds could be heard. Their structures are mostly stone and strongly buiit and ancient looking as there are ruins. Even roads have crisscrossed stripes, a provision to avoid accidents. Its so amazing really to be viewing landscaped spaces where lawns are well kept, evergreen, and prominent! Yes good card buy the V90 you will be future prove ! I think V60 will do 60P . . . You have to watch somw youtube videos about v60 cards ! I shoot 60P 120p and 8K 30P with a v90 card ! Don't buy lexar

Your comments are a bit severe. Yes indeed Valkenburg was affected by the floods on 14 and 15 July 2021 but no lives were lost as was the case in neighbouring BE and DE. At this point in time (late Seprember 2021) the majority of residential and commercial properties affected have re-opened and become habitable again thanks to superb efforts from local and national tradespeople. Visitor numbers are now almost back to pre-pandemic levels and it looks like plans are on course for the traditional Christmas market to take place. Visitors can again enjoy the splendour of this Heuvelland jewel as wonderfully shown in this Flying Dutchman video.

Sold my A7III and Weebill-s Gimbal . .i'm still waithing for my new microphone Rode stereo videomic x ! In the netherlands also rain and sun every day. . I still have a fulltime job next to my channel almost have a burnout pff to much work i hope next year i can go fulltime youtube ;) need more revenue ! Maybe i go sell 8K stock footage un the future to get a extra revenue stream ! Maybe a good option for you is the Sony RX100VII + a small gimbal film in auto mode 4k 30P mark,

I am not sure witch Sony A6600 or the A7C or even A7III because i like to do Photo and Video and also like to do underwater footage. I also sell video and photos on Stock agencies. It's difficult to work 100% and be a successful TH-camr what you are already! Maybe you wait till this C mess is gone and then go as fulltime TH-camr :-) Cheers, Martin
Try to buy a camera + lens both with ibis 👍 saves allot in post ! With covid is a risk to go fulltime maybe i have to wait ;) i think if you wait for the Sony A7IV with sony 16-35F4 lens you will be good .. mark,

Those are ‘love locks’, tourists from around the world hang them on bridges or fences in European cities/tourist destinations. They purchase them and hang them up as a sign of love, that their relationship shall not end.
It’s ironic, as the locks will eventually be removed as the weight of the locks damage the bridges, you should look at pictures of love locks in Amsterdam, Prague or Paris, the bridges are filled with them.
