3:02 hearing this tune performed by an orchestra brought a tear to my eye. Finally this absolutely beautiful song is performed the way it should be. I really hope the composer has heard this version.

This game had such good thematic music, and even though it was one of the earliest games released for SNES, it carried through the entire era as having some of the best music for the system, period.

I found it kind of awkward how warm and homey the music sounded while fighting giant plant monsters trying to eat me alive. At least I think that's the northwall level...
ActRaiser is manageable. It's not too difficult until the final third or so. But if you want a challenge, try Professional Mode, or Arcade Mode. It removes all the city building sections and your sword is considerably weaker.
ActRaiser 2 is basically a sequel to ActRaiser's professional mode. No city building sections and GODDAMN is it ever hard!
It no longer exists. Though, if you do a search, you may be able to find it elswhere on the net.
Parts of Pyramid are similar to the Castlevania SOTN track, Door of Holy Spirits.

If I were millionaire I'd buy Actraiser rights and give the project to Santa Monica, Team Japan, Team Ninja or any other amazing company with epic action games like God Of War, Ninja Gaiden or similar so they could exploit this master piece with today's software and make the most epic game ever.
I don't have the CD. I downloaded all the tracks from an obscure French website 5 years ago. The website no longer exists.
@jvutube07 You have good taste ;-) I love Castlevania IV's music. And Actraiser's/Actraiser 2's. Plus there're also games like FF6, Super Metroid (although that one has a lot more electronica influence), and Terranigma.
CV4 is my favourite because some of the stage themes are jaw-droppingly good, but I agree that the Actraiser games are more consistently good. CV4 also had some stage themes I hated (Stage 7 for example :-p)

You remember incorrectly. Yuzo Koshiro was the composer. Kaoru Wada conducted and orchestrated.

Warning, it's an extremely difficult game, but has great endings, especially Actraiser 2
Riddle of steel from Conan is what it reminds me of, had to listen to a few tracks to find the song I was remembering. As cheesy as those movies were, the soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard :B

@jvutube07 I must clarify that while Actraiser had the superior soundtrack, that Castlevania IV was more fun to play and had better controls as a side scroller. Actraiser did have fantastic visuals that were on par with CV4, but they weren't quite as memorable. But to its credit, Actraiser didn't enjoy the same brand recognition either.

Pyramid makes me think of some Biblical type shit, like an Ancient Enemy coming into the modern world and turnin that sumbitch upside down.
