Actraiser Symphonic Suite - "Filmore"
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 19 ก.ค. 2007
- A full orchestra interpretation of the greatest video game score of all-time.
The most stylistically different piece from the original game music. The fast-paced, techno beat of the 16-bit incarnation gives way to rich strings in a baroque fashion reminiscent of 18th Century composers.
Composed by Yuzo Koshiro
Conducted by Kaoru Wada
Performed by the Shinsei Nihon Symphony - เพลง
Ug.. we need a remaster of Actraiser badly!
Absolutely!
A remake just dropped last week for all current game systems
why was did i not find this earlier in my life
This is by far, the best orchestral version of this song.❤
9ooop¿ñ
Man, this version is AMAZING!!!!!
One of the best instumentals i've ever heard!!!!!
...cant decribe the reason i must cry while listening to special pieces like this one
People do not need know the game to realize this is a very special piece of music.
LEONIN I get a castlevania vibe, its so darn good. tbh most video game music is amazing, I get more feels from vgm then modern bands out there. and that's saying something
Jenovas Witnesses 〈Nova〉 yes, man! I feel the same...well, we are a brazilian rock band an dwe try to put some video game vibes in our music, like our instrumental song called "Sonho Vívido"...check it out on our channel if you please :D
Jenovas Witnesses 〈Nova〉 That's because old vgm knew they were limited on technology. They knew you'd be essentially listening to bleeps and bloops time and time again playing a level, so they made sure the tune was as fundamental and catchy as it could be. The focus was good, quality music amd melody as opposed to pizzazz. That's why it's so timeless, and can be translated to so many different styles of music.
LEONIN You're right. I (unfortunately) never even played this game, but this is beautiful. Heard the original game version and this is an amazing take on it.
If you have the patience for it despite its age, it is definitely worth a play, it is in the top 5 games of all time in my opinion. And the only true god game I have ever played.
The game, especially the world sim parts, are brimming with emotion and memorable moments. Entire magnificent games could be based on individual sections of it.
If you really can't stand the slower tempo, just put the video speed at 1.5 and enjoy.
I agree that the tempo is too slow. 1.25x speed is better for me, thou.
Pro life tip! much better sped up. I prefer 1.25
It’s much better the way the symphony intended. Give it a chance
1.25 is perfect
@@kaveman_4242They deviated too much.
bloodsling I totally agree. I prefer the first Actraiser by far. The simulation parts were a good idea to mix up the pure Hack'n Slay. And if you don't like the simulation, you could always play the Action-Mode. Thats what I call great game design. I wish the second one would also had this option.
Actraiser 2 is also way too slow. The action scenes in Actraiser are fast and badass, a great contrast to the sim scenes. Actraiser 2 however, moved at a snails pace compared to the first and ditched the great sim scenes altogether. I wish I could like Actraiser 2, but it's just such a letdown and does not even come close to the original.
+TheParappa hi :)
I cried when Actraiser 2 finally came out because it wasnt as good as 1
This is good. It's really good. BUT. They missed something, and it's not the tempo.
Doing an orchestral version of this piece is an excuse to absolutely crush the pipe organ. Why didn't they?
+007bistromath Good point, I was thinking that myself while listening to this....but dammit, it's pretty awesome nevertheless!
They ditched the bass, too.
Worse yet, the Sky Palace is arranged for woodwinds!
Because most of these orchestral things are done be people who don't care and look down on this kind of work
@@DenkyManner old comment but this was done by the composer of the SNES original soundtrack
Actraiser and Castlevania IV really showed off the immense power of the SNES music chipset in the early days of the system. Many fond memories!
Both versions are incredible.
We need this in spotify now
Beautifully done!
This speaks to my soul
Masterpiece of gaming.
Bravo! I love this version!
Simply beautiful.
OMFG, THIS IS AMAZING! I am a nut about Actraiser. Brings back memories of wasting the summer away playing snes for hours..
Brings back so many memories.
Okay, Smooth McGroove, where are you for this one?
Which were all amazing games. + it had quite some innovations, with the gliding and special attacks. Every single boss was also amazingly well made.
Comments that this song is too slow???
The x1.5 speed is our Almighty God
WOW amazing .....!!
So cool
Yuzo Koshiro ist schon brilliant. I love " Yuzo´s Musik."
its Just so Epic and wonderfull!
Gorgeous! :D
Una obra maestra!
marvelous !!!!!
I agree, Koshiro's work is amazing!
I actually met Uematsu and Mitsuda (FF and CT composers) in Chicago during the 1st ever Play: Videogame Symphony concert :).
still one of my favorite game orchestrations. :'D
used to have this cd - sold it many a year back
Nice upload rorschach.
- the comedian
I love the fugue in the beginning after the chord the strings tremolo on. It's fugue-ish anyway. Lovely use of counter point.
Yuzo Koshiro, my hero.
Now this is a remix of an already awesome theme
I've never played the game, but the soundtrack is really awesome. Even the SNES version was good (within the limitations of the console), the composition itself is amazing
I just loved this game, it was the first one I bought for my SNES!
It's an incredible game with an incredible soundtrack. And the symphony tracks here give it a nice sound. You're very lucky to own one of these records, if you do have one.
Is there any way you could upload them all somewhere as MP3s, that I could download? They wouldn't be used for my own (or anyone else's) profit, I can assure you.
Thanks,
Andrew O
Gentlemen, it is time.
@bloodsling you are completely correct.
One of the best in game ost orchestral tracks ever.
I rem buying a snes 2 play this masterpiece.
😁👊🙏👍
Essa música é muito boa.
More!!! Especially the first action level of Northwall.
I'll be uploading more in the coming days.
It's fucking beautiful
"The fast-paced, techno beat of the 16-bit incarnation"
?!?!?!
The original one.
1.25 speed, problem solved
Literally came to find this song after watching his bloody tears remix thinking the same thing!
Amp up the tempo, and it's perfection.
Came here because of Actraiser Renaissance.
thanks orb
Now days with the youtubesss technology we can speed it up! at 1.25 this becomes amazing! just like in game !
It's time... For liberation!
The town building would always be the same though, you could not fail, ever, nor would anything ever be different everytime you played it. So in some sense it didn't bring anything at all, except the fact that as if it feels that you are building it. I've played both and must say I prefer the 2nd quite a bit more, but obviously also love this one.
who ever did man it a beatiful song :3
Ah, gotcha!
Yeah I was surprised Actraiser 2 didn't have the town/RPG parts. They could have made an entire game kind of like SimCity just from those parts!
Actraiser also has *amazing* graphics for the time -- it was one of the first SNES games. I think, after Super Mario World, it was the first SNES game I saw in Nintendo Power before the SNES came out. I was pretty amazed.
My sentiments exactly. I wonder why the industries there only listened to shut-ins?
True, I prefer this version though because the original just didn't seem like it was that great IMO. The crescendos the violins do really make this song more dramatic than the original, even if it's not as strong or powerful.
Its happening
i love it so much..
i wonder if this game "Terranigma - Overworld" also hav symphonic too..?
@bloodsling I agree entirely.
My ears are telling my brain to tell my fingers to type this music greatly pleases them.
@Chepito2846 As far as I know, Kaoru Wada orchestrated and conducted it. Koshiro composed it.
I know what you mean. This is a lot slower and less dynamic, in a way.
But I like this one more because it has a deeper and more modest sound to it.
@daveincognito Yeah it lacks the same sound that's for sure. But I love this as a symphony.
People... speed this up? And want to change it? Heathens.
Click the cogwheel
@DPBrandon Funny you should mention that one.
Mystic Quest was one of the handful of games I actually played.
Yes but you have to agree that act raiser 2 had a very good development on the action part and it was freaking hard, a lot harder than the first one.
I am a big fan of orchestras and arrangements for video games. I do not care too much for chiptune or MIDI-sequenced music, as I find them overrated due to nostalgia. I recently attended the Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy concert in Atlanta, Georgia (earlier this year). It is the second time I attended a Final Fantasy concert. I previously attended the Dear Friends: Music from Final Fantasy concert in the same venue six years ago.
Remaster it please
What is the exact name of this album? But more importantly, can I buy it from anywhere?
It's been said so many times, but it deserves the praise, beautiful game and music. Thanks for sharing. :-)
A really gorgeous arrangement, but it's only about 65% as intense as the original. It doesn't quite have the same punch without the drums and everything.
you know, i used to hate this version, but it's starting to grow on me. i guess i just liked the original so much that i couldn't handle it differently. hehe ;)
@bloodsling Opinion shared.
I'm agree with you, chrono trigger's music also kicks ass ;)
fuck, that's expensive!
I never played this game before despite having a SNES as a kid.
So many good SNES games and I only played a handful of them.
So many wasted opportunities.
it was a nice reprieve though from the side scrolling platform jumper archetype the consoles beat us over the head with. Once I fired up the second one I just felt like "hmm,Blackthorne,Castlevania,Mega-Man,Ghosts 'n Goblins,Ninja Gaiden,Contra etc etc have done this before.
A rock remix is needed.
@IauthenticI Yes, before all anime became moon-eyed girls in school outfits being attacked by tentacles!
@daveincognito Yeah, while I do like this rendition of it, I'd prefer to hear a faster version with organ, slap bass, and maybe some double-kicks thrown in :-p There are a few Actraiser/Actraiser 2 tunes I could envision being "metalled up" a little.
They need to have a modern take on actraiser
"I gt the 2nd one and as soon as knowing you could even build towns I thought "
... I'm confused... did you think the 2nd game had towns, or not?
"Actraiser Symphonic Suite". Sorry, I'm not sure what that is in the original Japanese.
About the only place you are likely to find the album, is Ebay, in upwards of $500.
Tentacles are so early 2000's...
I like it sped up to 1.5, really feels like an orchestral version of the original 16bit masterpiece.
what key is this in?
Reminds me of Sherlock
Playback speed 1.25x 😮
i agree i think lautheticl does sounded like a philistine to me
アクトレイザー、のりよしんちでやったな😃
lol I was just voicing my opinion as you did about me..well done faceless nobody of cyberspace
Also, massive demerits for no drum beat, that's half of what made the original so blood pumping.
Wow did I touch a nerve? Yeah because there are important drum roles in any piece of orchestral music.
@daveincognito Needs more organ.
Wow... I think I just $&!t my pants...
This is a good song, but play this at 1.5 speed to play Actraiser.
No funky slap bass though. Ah well...
That genre actually emerged around the same time as the nintendo golden age. You already had a lot of weird stuff going on in Japanese pop- and subculture back then. If you ask me its exactly the ability to take that exuberant imagination and turn it into a final product that made so many great things come out of Japan. Nowadays it's all so sterile and pandering. At least the hentai tentacle rape gore anime wasnt as boring as many contemporary anime are.
I'm here thanks to TheUrbanOrb, anyone else ?
+Manuel G Gros NoLife
I don't really get this arrangement. Why don't they just give the lead to an actual organ? It has that perfect neo-baroque "Bach chorale on steroids" atmosphere you find in some of the better SNES soundracks (super castlevania IV anyone??). Of course the organ was an obvious choice for the original soundtrack since well, the organ was pretty much the early modern version of MIDI... But I've had dreams about this being performed with an actual church organ! Come on!!
